my blood sugar after meals is 125 (8pm)but in the morning 7am its between 140and 150.
After I gave him something really sweet to drink about 45 minutes later he was ready to eat. So do we have a problem with low sugar or high sugar? Is this something to worry about? He cant't talk so he can't tell us how he feels. My husband won't have insurance until the end of April. So were kinda stuck at the moment with being able to get anyone to help us. We were also told that since his seizures last that long we should really be worrying about brain deteriation. We don't know what to do.

It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.

You need to be tested for HA1C, which gives a measure of blood sugar control over the past few months. In the meantime I would strongly suggest that you assume you do have diabetes and adopt the lifestyle (diet and exercise) measures that are necessary to control it.
I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.

Hi, to get a better idea, fasting blood sugar to be normal should be in the 80s and definitely less than 100. If your fasting is greater than 126 you get diagnosed as diabetic. 2 hours after eating blood sugar should be < 120. If it is greater than 140 it of concern. I'd like to know your fasting and 2 hours post eating numbers. Blood work for an A1C should be done. Yes, I think you should be concerned and should followup with your doctor.

Since your number 6.9 is equivalent to 124 (multiply by 18) you are just under the line.
So I should think the quick drop is normal. The question is how high is your fasting blood sugar and do you ever show symptoms of low-blood sugar. By the way, some people can control type II diabetes with diet alone. If while on your diet your blood sugar starts dropping too fast, see your doctor. He/She may want to reduce your medication.
It is possible your Levemir dose is gone before you expect it to be, which is why your scores are now higher in the morning. Consult your endocrinologist about possibly changing the time that you take the Levemir, as that could change your scores. Any sustained blood sugars over 140 are when complications begin. So if the blood sugar spikes up that high and comes right back down it isn't as bad as if it stays there for awhile, but it would be better not to get that high altogether. But it really doesn't make sense that your blood sugar would be that high right after eating. It usually takes awhile to reach its highest point which is why we are told to test at 2 hours (though some people hit their peak a bit sooner).
