Avatar n tn My son is 9 years old and he has been complaining of pain in his mouth when I looked inside his mouth he has big white dots all over his tongue and both sides of his mouth/cheeks. Could someone tell me what could be wrong or should I take him to the doctor to be checked out. What could it be?
Avatar f tn So I have had a really bad throat, tonsillitis and tonsil stones all the time since I got back from volunteering in a hospital in Africa. This morning I woke up with a really severe sore throat, hoarse voice and just generally feverish. This evening I asked someone to check the redness of my throat, and when she did, she noticed something she described as a "second tongue". I googled it (sorry) and images of epiglotitus came up that looked exactly like mine.
Avatar f tn m not exactly sure of how it came about or how common it is in infants but I know that if you go to a health food store and buy probiotics for infants, it usually helps with thrush. I've had thrush in my mouth as a teenager and I can tell you it was the WORST!! It's soo painful, so if your baby is very uncomfortable then you know why. I hope it clears up fast! If you are breastfeeding, I think that helps it go away quicker too!
Avatar n tn Also, the infection has spread to my gums and gums feel smooth to my tongue, are red, black, and white, and are also very painful. Also, two more canker sores have appeared in the last 48 hours. I have an appointment to see my PCM at the beginning of next week. Is there anyway you could shed some light on to what is happening in my mouth? P.S. I should add that my wife does get cold cores, which I understand are a strand of herpes? Perhaps that could be related? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Generally this type of brain injury is seen in premature infants or infants who suffer birth injuries. It is difficult to comment beyond this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn Over the last 6 months I have had white patches in my cheeks my tongue. THey come and go and move around to different places in my mouth. I had an HIV test outside of the window period and it was negative so it is highly unlikely to be OHL. I have read a lot about uclers, lichen planus, OHL, cheek biting, etc.but I am still scared it is OHL I had A case of significant dry mouth after a round of antibiotics for a sinus infection.
Avatar m tn I developed oral thrush from my antibotics. It lasted about 8-9 months for me...
Avatar n tn I feel as if I have a nerve or something pinched in the back of my neck/head. My tongue has turned white/blue since as I have become very anxious over this event. I feel my neck and shoulders tighten and experience a cold feeling in the back of my head and into my face. If I look at my tongue during this time, it is losing it's color and turning white/blue. It lasts under a minute. Could this be from a pinched nerve?
Avatar m tn My tongue is white from last 3 months. Earlier whitish colour was going off by scraping. But now while scraping nothing comes out abd whitish colour remains as it is. Any focus please from experts in this forrum.
Avatar n tn i have had a white furry tongue for months which i cant get rid of, i get a white/yellow gunk on the back of my tongue and my mouth drys out in no time what so ever. i also have real gloopy spit in the back of my mouth which is really horrible. ive been to the doctors to see if its thrush and its apparently not and ive had blood test to see if i could find anything out and all i found out is that im healthy with a strong immune system.
Avatar f tn What my most worried now is the white tongue and coated tongue. Is the white tongue is one of HIV sign? Or normally it is AIDS sign? If it is because of anxiety, how could I get rid of it? Did anxiety symptoms will stay in your body forever?
Avatar n tn t appear to be overly sensitive, has some spots that move around a bit (might be geographic tongue) and a bit more buildup in the morning and on the back of the tongue. i can scrape it off some it doesn't appear to be a thick coating though really.
Avatar m tn Even when it is temporarily pink I can see the outline of where it will turn white again as it looks like there is a slimy coating that cant be scraped off in that area. It covers the top surface of my tongue from the back where it is very white to the tip where there is more pink areas mixed in with the white. It is not cottage cheese looking and the papillae are not long and hairy looking either.
Avatar n tn from looking at my tongue it is actually white all over but more in the middle and back. If i could make an anology, i would say there is white grass/hair growing on my tongue, and when I scrape it off it just gets shorter, as if i was mowing the lawn or shaving my head. There is no bleeding, just shortening of the white stuff. Is this oral thrush?
Avatar f tn After being paranoid about having hsv2 after a stupid, unprotected one night stand with a man of an unknown status, I tested negative at 4 months and was treated with antibiotics for a bacterial infection. A few weeks after being on the antibiotics, I got a really foul taste in my mouth and noticed my tongue is coated in white that won't scrape off, with red spots (not sores). There's no pain, just like a weird feeling on my tongue.
Avatar m tn - white tongue (usualy gets better after lunch but it gets white afterwards) - painful raised taste buds in the tip/border (the pain is random, not constant) - excessive saliva - swollen tongue (teeth marks in the border can be noticed) do you know the status of the girl who gave you fellatio? did your oral swab test checked yeast AND bacteria? did you have other tests (complete blood count, etc)?
Avatar n tn My main problem is that I have something like tongue ulcers, white and dry tongue in the mornings. Like white lines most in the tip of my tongue, and they are worse in the mornings. So I got a gastroscopy and was diagnosed with Pylori. They gave me Omez + amox + clarithromycin for 10 days... So my "mouth problems" symptoms went away while I was taking clarithromycin for pylori but after I ended my treatment for they came back! Thats it.
Avatar m tn Does anyone have a white tongue due to Crohn's? If yes, what did the doctors say it was from and can it be treated? I have a feeling its because my digestive system isn't working well as I am not absorbing much.
Avatar n tn I have a slightly white tongue but does not seem to scrape off. It is slightly white in front and really white on the far back of my tongue. I was tested at six weeks and was negative but still worried.
Avatar m tn People who have the condition known as geographic tongue are definitely more likely to experience a white tongue. Geographic tongue simply means a tongue that has lots of grooves and fissures in it, and these grooves and fissures make an excellent breeding ground for the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath and a white tongue. The way around this problem is simply making sure that your tongue is kept as clean as possible.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your time doctor-these symptoms came at the same time as what apeared to be a genital wart as diagnised by a dr I suffered from fever and chils for ablout a week after exposure the white tongue occured ten days after plus I ended with swollen nodes in my groin at ten weeks after this is what concerns me 20 months later
Avatar f tn My tongue is white in the morning. But after eating and drinking water the white spots dissapearred. Is that normal? After hours without eating and some water the white spots appeared again.
Avatar m tn I ended up with a hairy white tongue....i tested negative for hiv ..however my tongue is still a concern to me because it sometimes feels uncomfortable...its been 3yrs now..should I be worried about cancer?
Avatar n tn Fungal rashes are caused by a yeast imbalance in the body. Infants don't yet have a developed immune system yet of good and bad bacterias in the digestive tract. If the mother is nursing, it is most likely it is coming from her. An overgrowth of yeast in the mother can be given to the nursing baby, causing them to be easily affected. Watch the inside of the infant's mouth. if there are white spots or patches in the mouth or on the tongue, then that's another sign.
