but what you describe sounds to me like you have strep throat...all the symptoms are there. the sore throat the swollen lymph glands the white coating on your tonsils. I have been under extreme stress recently, and haven't had much of an appetite. Recently my tongue has had a thick white coating with red spots toward the front half. My tonsils are a little swollen and a little sore, with some minor white flecks. The glands on the side of my next are just slightly swollen, but not really sore. Also, I've been somewhat congested lately, but I have no other symptoms of illness/cold/allergies.
1) Ignore spots/ Glands, Unless They get Worse. Glands Can be Swollen for Months/Permanently after Viral Infections. It's Normal, Not HIV 2) Stop Hiv Research, I Have Learnt a Lot, but Nothing That Gives me Real Answers. 3) More Exercise/Drink More Water/Eat More Fruit 4) Think Positive, let the Body Heal itself 5) Go See ENT Dr.
I had swollen glands and swollen tonsils that went away w.augmentin875 after a few days. Would those symptoms go away in a few days? I had no fever. Would a breakout happen after these symptoms occured or during?
it sounds like u girl has tonsillitis i don't think its related to what we have because i been having swollen Submandibular glands for almost 2 years i had every kind of test done and even tried a new doc and the all said the same thing that i was fine and my glands were just blocked up and gave me antibiotics well this never worked so i just stop worrying and iv been having crohn's for 2 years since i was 16 and been i the hospital for more than a month so in all that experience i learned that
I went to the Doc's last week (Mon) and after looking at my symptoms (white spots on tonsils, chills swollen glands) he diagnosed strep and prescribed penicillin, no test. The spots went away and I felt better after a few days but it's now the following Wed and my throat is still sore and it appears as if there is a blister on one tonsil. Should I go back to the Docs?
As of some weeks ago I seem to be having an odd problem on my tongue (after the tonsil problem) , it started out with swollen on my tongue left side and right side. ( it looks like swollen red spot glands). When I eat some hot thing ( hot means Chilli like) and Citrus things the red spot on my tongue increases. I need your suggestion and help.
none of these things are really that sore they are uncomfortable they feel like a kind of electric shock pins and needles feeling like an ache for maybe 5 seconds. i still have my swollen tonsils but none of my lymph nodes are swollen. i dont think i have a fever reason i see that is because i dont have a thermometer in my house and don't know how ot teset for a fever otherwise. i have a doctors app on friday but would just like to know what anyone thinks i may have .
The main hope I have is the fact that my strongest and most persistent symptoms are all so localized together. Ache in left ear, swollen left tonsil, swollen glands on left side of my neck. I don't have much anywhere else. I have read that with ARS swollen glands tend to be much more generalized. So I'm kinda of getting myself a little convinced that this is just some infection in my tonsil/ear area - not ARS. Trust me I'm still going to get tested, but does it make sense?
I started getting white spots on my throat, swollen glands, and a bright red throat. I just assumed i had a sore throat and head ache, but then i started getting really flemmy, my ears starter hurting, and i have neck aches. do you have an idea of whats wrong with me?
I went to the ER and the triage nurse looked at my throat and said that my tonsils and uvula (the little punching bag) are really swollen and red, but no pus, and no fever, but i felt warm to the tough. She kinda gave me the impression that something was really wrong. Anyway I saw the doc a few hours later and he said tonsilitis (of course) and gave me a huge shot in my leg of penincillin (HUGE!!!) He refered me to a ENT and said I should have them out.
but the glands in my throat have been swollen (pea sized) for about 3 months now, the back of my throat very red and tonsils seem enlarged . 4 weeks after I had white spots on my tonsils, low grade fever 99.5- 100.4 it was off and on. alittle chills no much, sore throat and cough. negitve strep and mono test . this just sucks.
One morning i woke up with a sore throat and I looked at my tonsils and the one on the left side had a little white spot on it. The sore throat went away quickly and the spot is gone now but my lymph nodes are still swollen. They dont really hurt but i am worried about it because I have never had lymph gland problems or tonsil problems. I am a 22 year old female, and I am normally healthy. I am just very scared because I was looking up the symptoms and it matches with the symptoms of HIV.
Its been over a month and she originally gave me an antibiotic thinking the start of strep. No strep test taken. My glands were swollen for awhile, no sore throat though. This thing doesn't hurt. I am just wondering what it could be.
Well very randomly just over a week ago (6 weeks after having unprotected sex) I woke up with a sore throat and the next day my tonsils and jawline gland were swollen. After 3 days and the swolling not going away and the pressure build up feeling making it hard to swallow, I made an appt with my family practice dr. I filled him in on my previous visit to my gyn dr and my very stupid sexual mistake....
You must have been running a fever w/ sore throat to go to ER? Did they swab (culture) it. If so, get results copy. Strep generally has swollen neck glands/bright red tonsils. If you took full rx & it returned, maybe you got it back from your toothbrush (often overlooked). If not that severe, may be thrush & need an anti-fungal like Diflucan rx. The spots don't hurt unless you swab them off & they leave small ulcerated tissue. If you think it's strep, color code towels, etc.
a week later, I noticed a large white spot on my R tonsil. Only looked because the tonsils were SO incredibly ITCHY! Took a Q-tip and wiped, but to my surprise, a huge stone came out! Only THEN did I get on the net to find answers, learning they were "tonsil stones". Had them ever since, itchy, smelly, but easily removed until NOW. A week ago, got very bad sore throat. Itchy tonsils like never before. Picked pockets of tiny stones out here & there, but then the bleeding started.
The left side of my throat was very swollen and both of my ears were aching for about a week. I looked at my tonsils and thought the left side was infected. I could see a white spot, but I sprayed my throat with chloraseptic, saturated a q-tip and pressed on my swollen tonsil. Now this sounds really gross, but there were several big chunks of food that were stuck back there. I am brushing my teeth at least twice a day, gargling with mouthwash and I just keep an eye on my left tonsil now.

yesterday for a white pus pocket on the side of my throat.. not on the tonsils. My glands are not swollen. No fever. She said it was a piece of food lodged? I looked today and there are about 3 very, very small little white spots not too far from the pus pocket (which has been there 2 weeks). I also feel a bump on the top of the roof of my mouth. She really didn't have any suggestions except to rinse with salt water. Should I see another Dr.?
I have had swollen neck /throat glands and 1 white spot a little smaller than a pencil eraser on my throat. I do not have tonsils or a sore throat. I have been on 2 doses of Cefuroxime with no luck. I thougtht it was getting better after the first round but it came back. I am not sure if the spot ever went away but its in the same area. No fever, I have post nasal drainage as well. They wouldn't do a swab because they said it would come back negative since I have been on the antibiotics.
Your doctor should have only given you antibiotics if they thought you had enough signs and tests for a bacterial infection (like strep throat). Strep is more common when you have fever, white spots on enlarged red tonsils and swollen lypm nodes. Doesn't sound like you had some of those signs. You should talk to your doc about your worries about HIV. Even if it's not, you can think about getting tested for chlamydia that doesn't necessarily have any symptoms.
Other than my bottom right wisdom tooth is coming in and has made my gum alittle sore but is subsiding, my mouth seems fine. Wait... I do also have a white spot on my right tonsil but it seems to get bigger and smaller sometimes I think it could be food that keeps getting caught back there? I feel normal, healthy, but I have this going on in my mouth and neck.... but none of the doctors I've seen seem to think it's anything.
also had swollen nodes in left knee area and elbow area and under arm pits. went back to doctor who examined throat and found white pus spots on tonsils and throat area for which penecilin was pescribed and this did clear up but random swelling and pain has since developed all over my body in the sites where my lymph nodes and glands are present. it is now july and after an mri scan the hospital doctor has said that it showed that my lymph glands and nodes were unusually large.
But I still took pennicilin even if I did not had any puss, bumps or white spots. It really hurts on the right side of my mouth, where my tonsil feels so rough and tuff & my ear is affected also and they combine all together to cause me pain when I swallow. My gland and under my jaw used to be swollen but it's not so bad now. I believe I'v become a bit.. dumb forgetful and lazy. ?? it may be because I had to stop playing sports cause I wouldn't be able to breath quite well.
After asking around, I found out they were swollen lymph nodes. They have been swollen since. And since then, I've had swollen glands around my collarbone, in and around my armpits, and around my groin. Its on both sides of my body, and some of the nodes are quite large. Anytime I notice a new one, its because its quite tender to the touch, and sometimes even general movement (especially in the armpit).
the doctor did a strep test which came up negative, he said i had a headcold. just yesterday i woke up with a swollen and sore left tonsil. there are NO white spots on it. it hurts to swollow and its painful..what could this be...ive had mono before and the doctor was 100% sure that it wasnt that again..if anyone could help that would be awesome..
the yellowish black spot could be food getting stuck in your swollen tonsils. Some use a toothbrush to get it out as it can cause bad breath. Gargling with warm salted water might help dislodge, too. Canker sores will disappear if you apply salt directly to them (stings a bit), but it works! Canker sores come out when you're sick. With both strep and herpes, you can get a fever as it's your bodies way to fight off invading viruses. not everyone exposed to herpes gets it.
I also keep getting one or two white spots on my right tonsil only, and my throat looks like it can be pretty red sometimes. I'd like to point out that I'm not a smoker, and I rarely have a drink. I don't have any sore throat though thats the problem. It doesn't hurt to talk, or swallow. Everything is pretty much just there, but im not actually feeling any ill effects of whats happening.
