Avatar n tn With my hand straight out I cannot I cannot put my pinkie or ring finger together and I cannot get my ring finger together with my middle finger. Any thoughts? I also play soccer during the fall and spring.

Avatar n tn Symptoms of trigger finger develop when the ring, middle, or index finger attempts to flex closed while gripping. Stretching, ice, and anti-inflammation medications should be tried to start with. Steroid injections like cortisone are used as a treatment for trigger finger. Surgery is the last option to remove the scar tissue. Take care!
Avatar f tn After few such dips, passive mobilization or assisted mobilization is done by a physiotherapist. b) Same as hot water fomentation in which finger is dipped in luke warm water, and then passive mobilization is conducted. For the problem you mentioned that your finger is pointing towards the pinky finger, there are some options like putting a brace to maintain the normal position. After a while, this brace can be removed.
Avatar m tn I am so sorry, I on accident put index finger in the title, and I can't edit my post. Just so I am clear, it was the ring finger with the lesion, not the index finger. Thanks again.
Avatar m tn I have twitching in my left hand ring finger. I just got over three weeks of calf twitching which made me believe I had ALS, (it went away) NOW, a week later, I get the finger twitching. My great-grandmother had PD, she was the only one in our family I know of. She developed it later on in life and lived to be 91. I can see the actual twitching occur between my pinky and ring finger knuckle area and thats what makes the finger actually move.
Avatar m tn ve been suffering from swelling of the fingers on one hand. First it started swelling on my index finger, with a couple of visible red dots under the skin, and then it started on my ring finger, but the swelling was different, it got swollen at one point beyond the big joint of the finger and another swelling at the smaller joint of the finger. This time the swelling was hard to the touch. Like two red dots. And then my little finger started swelling too, but this one was different also.
Avatar n tn Usually, the thumb, forefinger, middle finger and the half of the ring finger closest to the middle finger are involved. Sometimes the other side of the ring finger is involved, but not the little finger. What you describe follows the path of the ulnal nerve. The fact that this occurred when you had a viral or bacterial infection may be more significant than you think. Some forms of "temporary" thyroiditis are triggered by upper respiratory infections.
Avatar f tn The last month my finger pain has really gotten bad and has now started in on my right hand too - and that started with a bout of SHARP pain in the pinky finger joint but is now in the middle, ring, pinky on that hand too - still worse on the left. what gives?
Avatar n tn I also notice the same numbness whenenever I ride my bike after 20 minutes or so. There also is a rash (?) on my index finger than resembles eczema on the backside of the finger and just dry dead skin on the side and palmside of the finger. What could be causing this? What should I do? I do not experience the same numbness with my left hand at all!!
Avatar n tn Alright, first I'll let you know this was diagnosed as ringworm after a quick medical exam at the university health center. The problem is, she assumed a red spot on my leg (which wasn't itchy, or associated with the problem) was the site where it started and to apply the anti-fungal cream there. I was rather skeptical, to say the least. So here's the symptoms (that make me really confused as to what this is): 1. Started with incredibly dry elbows, worse than has ever happened.
Avatar m tn I have been diagonised with enchondroma in the ring finger of my right hand. The finger now has a fracture and it is being treated for the fracture. I wanted to find out how soon after the fracture has healed can I have the surgery to get the tumour removed and how long with the post operative care be?
Avatar f tn Often, thyroid problems can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, which causes pain, burning and numbness in the thumb and fingers. With CTS, the thumb, index, and middle fingers are affected. Also, the ring finger can be affected all around, but often it's just the side of the ring finger closest to the middle finger that is affected. The pinky is not affected at all. I agree with Barb that more background information would be very helpful.
Avatar n tn I know the joints are naturally a bit roundish on the outside but this is large compared to the ring finger on my right hand. Also looking at it you can see the bulging. I was wondering if this is bone or a bone I was feeling? It is quite painful, that area and the area of the finger that is injured. Pins n' needles sensations as well. Suggestions? Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 26 year old white male, about a month and a half ago I noticed a dry patch on my left hand index finger. I paid little attention to it until there was a similar patch on the thumb and on the right hand index finger. I bought some cream with 1% clotrimazole and began applying it twice daily for the last seven days. During this time the rash seems to have continued to spread outward and I am now also noticing it on my left hand ring finger.
Avatar n tn thank you for considering my question i have regular twitching in the index, middle and ring fingers of my left hand. it started abt 10-12months back with only my index finger twitching , and abt 2-3 months back , my middle finger started twitching, and from the last few days it has started in my ring finger also. the fingers start twitching randomly wenever left lose .and continue for upto 2-3 minutes. the amplitude of twitching varies from 0.4cm to about 1.5 cm and the frequency varies too .
Avatar m tn A few weeks ago I got a very mildly itchy rash on the sides of my index and ring fingers and only slightly on top as well. I assumed it was poision ivy and ignored it. The bumps dried out and stopped itching and have peeled in some spots. They don't itch or burn or have any fluid in them. Since then I have gone on a business trip in a dirty factory and have noticed where the bumps were, there now appears to be super tiny holes.
Avatar m tn So on the day of my wedding photo-shoot which was about 4 weeks ago, my left ring finger has a hang nail skin so I picked on it and it bled for a little bit, and the same time I noticed one of the stylist for us has a fresh cut that still bleeds on his index finger. Therefore, my question is that in case his blood from his wound comes into contact with my wound, then will that be a risk?
Avatar m tn Since median nerve is responsible for feeling and movement of the palm, thumb, index, middle finger and the thumb side of the ring finger, these areas may be affected. You have been engaged in repetitive hand and wrist movements, which can trigger the onset. The numbness, tingling and pain over palms, pain can extend to the elbow and interfere with finger movement with weakness of grip. Your physician should check for diabetes, hypothyroidism, as these may be associated.
Avatar m tn At a family get together on the 18th. I was burned by a bottle rocket on my left hand. The index finger is the worst, being numb during most of the day. The middle finger, ring finger and thumb also have burns. All fingers are dexterous, I can feel pressure when applied and nerves seem ok. The index finger is burned on the area near the nail bed including the nail itself, the burn is isolated to the right side of the nail and finger.
Avatar f tn The middle finger lines are thicker and blurred, and the 2 toes, 2 little toes and index finger have thicker pigmentation than other nails. I biopsed a nail with not as much pigmentation as the ones mentioned above (my ring finger nail) .It was clear , Im 16 snd i had these from childhood (dont remember when they appeared). im also darlk skinned. Is there a need for a biopsy to check the blurred and wider pigmented nail?
