I personally do not believe the low positive cardiolipin titers were related to infertility; the relationship is with recurrent pregnancy loss. I too respect your RE' reasoning for initiating lovenox, but would not have done so myself - a matter of opinion and my interpretation of the research and evidence available.

I have Factor V and need to start Lovenox when I get pregnant again, but my obgyn says not until a heartbeat is detected (which was the very day I miscarried last time). I've also had two miscarriages. Best of luck to you and your little bean!

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

The first was just to start the thinning process then I was able to take warfarin. They never diagnosed my first DVT, I was told it was a fluke. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant and have a second DVT. After testing I have Factor V Leiden and take 2x daily shots of 100mg lovenox. I already have had 3 natural pregnancies so this one surprised me. When I give my injection I find a spot that has some fat because it hurts worse to give the shot in the muscle and I get welts if I do.

When I inject the needle, I slowly do my shot. I inject a little Lovenox at a time. I usually count to 5, squeeze a little in, count to 5, squeeze a little more...and repeat until all is injected. I place the ice pack on for about as long as I had it on to begin with. It gets a little harder to inject this in with a baby in your evergrowing belly. I tilt to one side so I can get a better angle and pinch the skin.

Im on Lovenox due to the fact that I've had blood clots in both of my lungs in the past. Everything is great. Im currently using medicaid and I pay only $3 as a copay. I get 36 shots at a time so my supply lasts a lil over a month.

I didn't know there were other moms like me, in the sense of having to take the lovenox shots. I just thought it wasn't very common. Well I'm 18 wks this is my third but the first pregnancy I've had to use blood thinner due to clots in my lungs and my leg calf. However, Dr hasn't planned for delivery yet. My doctor wants to start me on Clomid next month, along with one baby aspirin a day and and folic acid until I get pregnant. He said that I will continue the Clomid and start up the Lovenox again when I get pregnant again. Has anyone done the Lovenox and Clomid and finally had a baby? I have no trouble getting pregnant at all, it's just keeping the pregnancy.

( So, DH and I pretty much decided we would do the lovenox if we are confirmed preggo. If we start the lovenox, we have to stay on it throughout the pregnancy (UGH!). But I don't care, I just want a healthy baby. The part that peed me off was when I talked to him (doc) on the phone 4-6 wks ago, he said my bloodwork and genetic work up were fine..and then hits me with this...UGH!!! BUTTHEAD!!!

Im very confused because I was planning a home birth and my doctor that wants me on blood thinners is 80+ yrs old and tells me I need to be in a hospital to deliver at my apt last week and I was 35weeks. When I asked him why he said so they can blood transfuse me when I start to hemmorage after taking the blood thinners. Im terrified now that im going to bleed to death and wondering if any one else has done this and how they are making out.

Sorry for your losses. I have had two myself, so I know how devestating it is. Some of the things that popped into my head after reading your question... Has your hubby's chromosomes been tested? Both of you should have you chromosomes karyotyped to ensure that you don't have a balanced translocation, which can cause chromosome issues in the fetus. I am also assuming that you have done the blood work checking for blood clotting disorders. What tests have you had?

t ever remember it taking this long to start? Does anyone know how long until I should start to worry?? I have really sharp pains every now and again but no sign of starting?? Today would be day 5 post negative test? I stopped taking progesterone and lovenox right away??

Of course, I will never know whether the reason this pregnancy continued was due to the Lovenox or just a conicidence...but I was not taking any chances this time, and I'm glad I didn't. Did they tell you what blood clotting disorder you tested positive for?

I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? I have plenty of fat so it's not as if I got held up on muscle or anything. I'm hoping the needle might have been blunt because if not then along with the burning this is going to be pretty barbaric for the next 8 months Anyone have thoughts or tips for me?

I've used lovenox with my last pregnancy and with this pregnancy due to a blood clotting disorder. Lovenox is perfectly safe. does not cross the placenta but thins the blood just enough and very evenly to prevent blood clots. there are no side effects except maybe I bruised slightly easier.

I just piched up my belly just to the side of my belly button and pushed in the needle. Remember to switch sides with each injection. After the first injection, it is much easier to do. The shots do not hurt. The needles are very small in diameter. After each of my the surgeries, I went back to the coumadin clinic the next day to start checking my INR (protime) and taking coumadin again according to their directions.

Not me personally, but my sister-in-law had to be on lovanox shots the entire time during all of her pregnancies. She had issues with clotting; only when she was pregnant though, and was also higher risk due to age (between 36-40 years old for her pregnancies).She managed to have 2 successful pregnancies and only 1 miscarriage.

My sis has 2 girls and then went on to have a molar pregnancy back in Oct and then had another m/c in April losing the baby at 11 weeks. Sure enough they tested her blood and she was positive. So she is now ttc and is on baby aspirin daily and she may have to go on heparin shots once daily once she gets a positive pregnancy test. She is very fertile so hopefully all she needs is to be on an anticoagulant to give her a successful pregancy. I will be sure to let her know of your post.

The second time I got pregnant, I was already on baby aspirin and I was suppose to start Lovenox shots once a heartbeat was detected. Well I started spotting the day of my 6 week appointment, and was cramping by the time I got to the doctor. They did see a heartbeat, and I picked up the lovenox on the way home, but never got to start it, as I miscarried naturally that night.

t wait on my doctor to call back I would go to the emergency room. I had spotting in my early pregnancy and everytime I would see blood I was at the emergency room. I even witch doctors because my doctor never called me back after I called inn about bleeding.

ve also had surgery to place a little screen in my body to hopefully catch any blood clots from moving elsewhere in my body to my heart. Now that I'm pregnant I've been on Lovenox shots since week 12ish and I take a baby asprin with it to hopefully prevent any blood clots from forming. Though shots are not my favorite thing in the world, I'll do anything it takes to hopefully keep this baby safe.
