My suggestion to you is to not use the lidocane again if it bothers you. I doubt the lidocane has hurt your heart in any way....

Hello "mrbh, I have similar problems and was wondering how you found a dentist who was willing to extract your teeth without using any anesthesia?I need to find one who will work with alternative,non-drug anesthesias if any exist. Was the pain of the extaction unbearable and how did you cope with it?I wonder if I could endure it? I am supposed to have oral surgery in a few weeks using a caine type of numbing agent which will be very risky since I had heart problems using those before.

This allergic response to Epi containing Caines is a problem that I only have with synthetic epinephrine, not my own biologically produced form of it. - I hope this helps clear up the misunderstandings out there surrounding medical Epi.

I too have had a bad reaction to Lidocaine and Meprivacaine, both without any Ephineprine and must find something that I can handle before an extraction which is scheduled in just two weeks.My doctors and allergist are not clear on what would be safe to use since I have a problem with P.V.C.s and such.My allergist said that any of the caines will probably bring on more P.V.C.

It may be due to the epinephrine but since they removed that element, it could be either anxiety/nervousness or what we call lidocaine toxicity. The anesthetic may have made its way through the bloodstream and into your brain, resulting in some of the symptoms you've described. Which tooth are they treating?

i had a lidocaine shot too for a different procedure and I have been having the same proble as well, over the sumer everyday I would get a palpitating feeling in my chest and wondered if it has something to do with that. I do remember when I had the procedure my heart was racing. If you found anything out please let me know- Thanks!

Tell them you want your son to have carbocaine or anything else without the epi. If you decide to go to another dentist tell them what happened to him and say you don't want him to have it.

Sadie I think my site is similar to yours 2-3 cm from nipple. Nanno is right...a little pain is worth it to get the results..I think the waiting is the horrible part. I do all dental work without epi and my dentist knows I will let her know if something starts to wear off. She's great at asking me as she goes along if I am doing ok. Have you been to this dentist before? I am sure even if you go with the epi, you'll be fine too. Lots of people are! Good luck!

I had this happen. Can't have epi either. They finally found they can use what they use on kids for me and I do okay.

i realized it not just me but a lot of patients with Hashi have hives from time to time. do you take any medicine for that? if so what?

My fear of epi took me threw 3natrual births no meds at all after my third I decided if I had another I would get epi but don't get me wrong I was so afraid n nervous about moving when I got it but I didn't I made it threw now I'm on my 5 pregnancy and again I am getting epi u get a better experience of labor and all if u get an epi I wish had known that with my first 3 but I learned and I'm all for epi.. I was 6-7cm dilated when I got my epi, I think I would have died without out lol I had all the drugs they offerd me but all wore off way too quickly. I had the gas until I got the epi and couldnt stop inhaling it for an hour until the doc came to do it, I was in the worstpain I had already been through 45 hours of labor I physically was dead. I couldnt handle it anymore.

t reuse them more then a few times! A big help to me with the irritation from cathing is to use lidocaine on the catherter. YOu can get a script for this! The lidocaine gel though does also contain methly paraben not an issue to most just me.., so I get MSM gel from Jaocb's lab compounded with lidocaine! In the beginning I would also put a cool or cold compress of ice on the urethra after cathing! I no longer need that!

I have never heard of them being addictive...lidocaine is a numbing agent when it is used on the skin....when given IV it can be used to treat heart rhythm disturbances...I guess if you put like 20 on it could affect your heart but addictive...

If any of these symptoms occur, remove your patch and do not put it back on until the symptoms go away. LOL I will be the first to try the lidocaine suit. Let me know when it comes out. I have to tell you why I'm in such pain right now. Picture this or better yet try it LOL: sit on the floor, spread your legs apart as far as they will go, then bend over so your face is as close to the floor as possible, now hold this position for about 6 hours and repeat everyday for 2 weeks. This has been my job for the last 2 weeks, painting a rug on a floor.

consider learning some techniques to help with pain relief, maybe hire a doula to help you reach that drug free goal. i regret having my epi with my first, i wished i had not had one. ive had an epi and a spinal with my second (repeat c section lucky me) and i didnt feel much at all. we all have a different tolerance to pain.
