m hoping that it will kick in first ( is it within 30 minutes?) and then after it kicks in to give Vyvanse. We are hoping that in a few hours when the effect from Ritalin crashes down the Vyvanse will then have peaked and so that he won't suffer from anxiety that's common from Ritalin since Vyvanse gives a euphoric effect. Anybody has tried these drugs in this order?

I have been on Vyvanse for maybe a year now and have found that my 70 mg dosage just isn't kicking in or working as well as it used to for me anymore?? So is this happening with you as well? I have a friend who has a boy younger than 10 years old on Metadate CD. Her doctor suggested that they try Vyvanse. He does ok on Metadate CD but he seems a little zombie like with no emotion and not very social when on Metadate. I believe that it is why the doctor suggested a different med. I have to take baby steps to get things done or my Compulsive Behavior on wanting to get it done like Yesterday and all at once will kick in and make me want to use.When you stop the pills you will have to give your Brain & Body time to kick in the natural way. You have done it before. It takes a lot of Strength to fight that Pleasure (survival) Part of the Brain because it will want to play this tape over and over to trick you into to thinking that you need this for this or that reason.
On an empty stomach, it takes about a half hour to kick in and always lasts (for me) about 12 hours. You only need to take one. Vyvanse has seriously changed my entire life. I am a much happier, less stressed, productive person. I have virtually no side effects except for a small decrease in appetite and mild to moderate when it wears off. He angrily snapped at me and said will check with my family dr about the Vyvanse - insinuating it was prescribed maybe? He had known all along and in my chart that I take Vyvanse. Hey Linz, my psych had switched me to Vyvanse when it first came out, and at my next appointment I asked to be switched back to Adderral XR. The vyvanse did not work much at all for me, if anything it made me worse. So now I'm back on Adderral, and doing alright, or as alright as I can be doing (unfortunately meds don't make everything ok).
I was thinking that maybe the mixture of D and L enantiomers in Adderall works better in my body than the 100% D enantiomer in vyvanse. (neuropharmacology was my favorite class ever so I know a little bit about this stuff.)
The first two weeks of Vyvanse let me take care of my priorities efficiently and without any procrastination. Additionally, it shut up my racing thoughts, which was such a relief.
I noticed over spring break a small amount of acne (she had been acne free for years). Then when she came home in May the acne started getting worse. She upped her adderall because of training/games and a new job. So she was basically taking it almost every day. Her face broke out horribly. Worse it has ever been. I took her to two dermatologists. Sandman2 is right. I went to a pill party before I knew I had ADHD and some guy brought some of his brother's Adderral. We snorted it and everyone got high off it, except me...it had the complete opposite effect on me. Needless to say, I never got invited to a pill party again...lol.

If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
Hi! I've been slowly upping my Vyvanse dose & am currently taking 50mg every morning. I've noticed I can easily take a nap any time of day (similar to before Vyvanse) does this mean my dose is still to low?

My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.
I take 1.5 mg Klonopin + 50 mgs of Vyvanse. I have ADD but the Vyvanse is also prescribed for depression as I cannot take absolutely any antidepressant without incredible agitation. That started several years ago.
