AST on upper end of normal at 40. The doctor said to stop the Lipitor...but stay on the Zetia...... and retest in 1-1/2 weeks which he did this past Sept. 30th. His ALP came down to normal at 91, his ALT stayed the same at 79, his AST stayed relatively the same at 42, but his GGTP went quite high at 240. The doctor's office called and told him to come in next week.

I've asked the pharmasist who filled the prescription on two separate occassions; but, recieved two different answers. The first answer was: ' One year after the perscription was filled'.
The later answer was: 'Two years after the prescription was filled.'
So that leaves me with not knowing which one to go by.
The prescription was filled 10 and 1/2 months ago.
I think they have concluded that neither do Zetia, except when used with a statin, so it is the statin doing the work. I also think Welchol has been shown to not reduce cardiac events too. not sure. I am on Repatha. Third bi weekly shot. have about 1/3 of the severity of symptoms that I had on statins. headache, muscle aches. may put up with it and may not. just keepin on keepin on for now. Will see if this gets better, worse or stays the same.
You can look at it another way too... The patent on Valtrex will expire this year.. which means that Generic Valtrex will now flood the market, which means the $43 billon or so GallaxoSmithKline make from Valtrex annually will effectively disappear overnight.
The past has shown that when a Patent ends, the pharmaceutical companies will always then come out with something way better so they can regain market control and get sales back...
Then my GP put me on Zetia. Said it would be different. After two months on it, it was worst than the statins. Woke up one morning, couldn’t close my hand. My fingers were so swollen and my both thumb joints would not bend. When I tried to bend them they clicked and was very painful. Never had any problems with my knees, one morning got up both knees were so very painful, when going up and down stairs. Hips started hurting.

Chris turns blue in the same area as your doctors, and his cardiac doctor thinks that is unusal.
so he looked it up on his computer and sure enough, that was one of the warnings. I stopped the Zetia and the coughing disappeared completely within a couple of weeks. The point here is that medicines, while helping one problem, frequently can cause another.
The meds I take for thyroid, reflux, heart disease and high blood pressure are synthroid, metoprolol, lisinopril, plavix, aspirin, lipitor, tricor, folic acid and nexium.
Actually, the original Oxycontin LOSSED their lawsuit and there is a generic, which I am on, but is is also so expensive. The people with the original patent won the 1st time, but since then, it HAS been available in generic form, first by a company... starts with M. (remember the pills!) and now the formulation is made differently so you can't snort it or shoot it, which was the original reason for the reformulation.

Choleithiasis is Gallstones in the gallbladder. Ask about it.
No... stuff Like That doesn't really have an expiration date. But If u wanna be extra cautious about It it'll have one stamped on It If It does Just Like food does. Stocking up now Is a good idea.
You mentioned that you did a lot of research on the medication, are you having the symptoms too, or have you just read all the different, possible reactions and incorporated it into your own?
You stated that you are taking more of your break through med than is prescribed? I don't know if you are on any type of pain contract but that is something that is not allowed, for you to decide what your dose should be.
