Avatar f tn AST on upper end of normal at 40. The doctor said to stop the Lipitor...but stay on the Zetia...... and retest in 1-1/2 weeks which he did this past Sept. 30th. His ALP came down to normal at 91, his ALT stayed the same at 79, his AST stayed relatively the same at 42, but his GGTP went quite high at 240. The doctor's office called and told him to come in next week.
704043 tn?1298056844 Unfortunately for all of us on Copaxone, the patent does not expire until 2014. Teva Pharmaceuticals has exclusive rights until then at least. There is always other ways for them to get this patent extended, protecting their profits in Copaxone sales. Google generic copaxone if you want to learn more!
Avatar f tn When does Alprazolam expire? I noticed there is no expiration date printed on the prescription bottle. I've asked the pharmasist who filled the prescription on two separate occassions; but, recieved two different answers. The first answer was: ' One year after the perscription was filled'. The later answer was: 'Two years after the prescription was filled.' So that leaves me with not knowing which one to go by. The prescription was filled 10 and 1/2 months ago.
148588 tn?1465778809 But drug makers soon found new ways to extend the patent protection by slightly tweaking the active molecule or delivery mechanism — such as creating an extended-release version of a drug as the patent for an instant-release version was about to expire — so that the product is technically novel while still fundamentally the same. That enabled them to apply for a new patent that would provide them with another 20 years free of competition.
488198 tn?1493875092 We have another patent now for Tecfidera, and this patent will expire in 2028. It covers the dosing regimen of daily administration of 480 mg (two pills/capsules of 240 mg each) of Tecfidera. It still appears on track for FDA ruling late next week. http://www.biogenidec.com/PRESS_RELEASE_DETAILS.aspx?ID=5981&ReqId=1798029 http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-19/biogen-idec-gets-new-u-s-patent-for-multiple-sclerosis-drug.
Avatar n tn With Zetia interfere with the absorption of the benefits of these supplements and if so what can I do to get the full benefit of Zetia and the supplements, if anything. Ar there any other supplements that should be avoided while taking Zetia? Many thanks.
Avatar f tn In addition, recent trials have shown that adding Zetia does not improve the performance of Vytorin over Simvastatin alone.
3945899 tn?1414781215 I’ve had it for 3 years and it’s been GREAT. I did gain about 20-30 pounds with it so that’s the only reason I’m looking into the iud. What are y’all experience with the IUD?
Avatar f tn Vytorin is a combination of Simvastatin and Zetia so you are taking the same thing without the Zetia so you should not see any changes in how your body reacts.
Avatar m tn I think they have concluded that neither do Zetia, except when used with a statin, so it is the statin doing the work. I also think Welchol has been shown to not reduce cardiac events too. not sure. I am on Repatha. Third bi weekly shot. have about 1/3 of the severity of symptoms that I had on statins. headache, muscle aches. may put up with it and may not. just keepin on keepin on for now. Will see if this gets better, worse or stays the same.
Avatar m tn do you think they will eventually put a drug on the market for total clearance?
Avatar m tn You can look at it another way too... The patent on Valtrex will expire this year.. which means that Generic Valtrex will now flood the market, which means the $43 billon or so GallaxoSmithKline make from Valtrex annually will effectively disappear overnight. The past has shown that when a Patent ends, the pharmaceutical companies will always then come out with something way better so they can regain market control and get sales back...
Avatar n tn Then my GP put me on Zetia. Said it would be different. After two months on it, it was worst than the statins. Woke up one morning, couldn’t close my hand. My fingers were so swollen and my both thumb joints would not bend. When I tried to bend them they clicked and was very painful. Never had any problems with my knees, one morning got up both knees were so very painful, when going up and down stairs. Hips started hurting.
Avatar m tn no the best results were on rep9ac+pegintf 48weeks plus etv, longterm svr>12months on 4 (5 patients treated) i think the best way before new treatments are available is: rep9ac+tdf or etv+pegintf possibly with a low baseline hbsag by many years of nucs the point is will replicor sell this treatment somewhere?what price?do they have a patent and will it expire?
Avatar m tn //www.dddmag.com/news/2011/09/patent-application-hepatitis-drug-filled I understand that VIREAD will enter the Chinese market, and how about AGX-1009, how this will be manage ? why the AGX-1009 and VIREAD are different ?
Avatar n tn Hi There I ahve a son who os 4 1/2 (you can't forget that 1/2) V=Crhistopiher has several issues with his heart an yes he does have a PFO since birth. his is very tiny (the size of a pin hole) and has yet to close. soif it isn't closed don't worry. as far as her turning blue, do you know if she has SHUNTING across her PFO? this can cause her to turn blue. Chris turns blue in the same area as your doctors, and his cardiac doctor thinks that is unusal.
Avatar n tn so he looked it up on his computer and sure enough, that was one of the warnings. I stopped the Zetia and the coughing disappeared completely within a couple of weeks. The point here is that medicines, while helping one problem, frequently can cause another. The meds I take for thyroid, reflux, heart disease and high blood pressure are synthroid, metoprolol, lisinopril, plavix, aspirin, lipitor, tricor, folic acid and nexium.
Avatar f tn Actually, the original Oxycontin LOSSED their lawsuit and there is a generic, which I am on, but is is also so expensive. The people with the original patent won the 1st time, but since then, it HAS been available in generic form, first by a company... starts with M. (remember the pills!) and now the formulation is made differently so you can't snort it or shoot it, which was the original reason for the reformulation.
Avatar n tn could be a interaction or allergy to the combination of the two medicaiton From the waring label on Zetia when taken with Fenfibrate: Fenofibrate If cholelithiasis is suspected in a patient receiving ZETIA and fenofibrate, gallbladder studies are indicated and alternative lipid-lowering therapy should be considered [see ADVERSE REACTIONS and the product labeling for fenofibrate]. Choleithiasis is Gallstones in the gallbladder. Ask about it.
Avatar f tn No... stuff Like That doesn't really have an expiration date. But If u wanna be extra cautious about It it'll have one stamped on It If It does Just Like food does. Stocking up now Is a good idea.
Avatar m tn You mentioned that you did a lot of research on the medication, are you having the symptoms too, or have you just read all the different, possible reactions and incorporated it into your own? You stated that you are taking more of your break through med than is prescribed? I don't know if you are on any type of pain contract but that is something that is not allowed, for you to decide what your dose should be.
