When do cymbalta side effects go away

Common Questions and Answers about When do cymbalta side effects go away

cymbalta

Avatar f tn However, I have taken other SSRIs and SNRIs, and while the withdrawal effects can be really unsettling and uncomfortable, they do decrease in severity and eventually go away with time. I wonder whether the tremors are a side effect from starting Paxil, or a withdrawal symptom from weaning off the Cymbalta, or both?
Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar n tn If you have had severe side effects please report them to the FDA (that can be done on-line). I took this drug and had life threatening side effects and it took away a year of my life. Please do alot of research on this drug........I mean really research the meaning of serotonin syndrom, hypotremia, heart and suicidal possible side effects. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I have experienced. My best to you all.
Avatar f tn i am on cymbalta...no side effects until my doctor upped my dose, but just extreme tiredness, so i lowered my dose back to 60 mgs....usually the brain zaps are when you suddenly stop taking it, any antidepressant can cause this when abruptly stopped....but everyone is different. are you experiencing any side effects from it now?
Avatar n tn Hence you will need to take lower dose of Cymbalta as the drug concentrations are expected to remain high due to slow metabolism. If the dose of Cymbalta is not adjusted well it can result in serious side effects such as orthostatic hypertension or hypertension or tremors or ataxia etc. However, your other doctors are right too. There is no drug interaction between them, and so even if you become pregnant, there is not going to be any additional harm due to drug interaction.
1286779 tn?1400012806 Some medications can have odd adverse effects in older people that don't happen when we're younger. My mother (same age as your mom) had really weird side effects from lyrica but it didn't help her pain so she quit taking it. I think your mom would benefit from a complete medication review by a gerontologist. That's a doctor who specializes in treating seniors.
Avatar f tn now on zoloft and got approval to go back to cymbalta--cant decide to go back or not--it is better than the zoloft for me but the effects of not having it is worse than crack! scary stuff. of course the dose was 60mg--pretty strong. will have to really think about it.
Avatar n tn However the tremors are still there as well as extreme sweating, and muscle tightness. (I have been on this dose for approximately 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just started on cymbalta 30mg and then next week I go up to 60mg, my question is what is the best way to take this, one in the morning and one at night or both at night, I dont know. Anyone have any advise on worked best for them?
407790 tn?1397761026 My doctor just put me on Abilify, which I'm not very happy about considering the side effects. However, I have treatment-resistant depression so I'm running out of options. I will be taking a very low dose, though: 2.5 mg. Does anyone know if you're less likely to get side effects if you're on a low dose? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Business woman1 I cannot specifically diagnose what you are experiencing and I really cannot explain the mechanism of action of Saphri as this is very complex (it binds to serotonin and dopamine receptors in the brain) We do know that it can cause various side-effects including movement disorders, increased prolactin(brain hormone) levels, weight gain, and dizziness. Cymbalta is a SNRI and elevates mood and decreases pain fiber signals.
5082295 tn?1371250911 Typical start up side effects of Cymbalta would be an increase in anxiety (feeling jittery), insomnia or drowsiness, GI disturbances (lack of appetite, nausea, diarrhea), headache. Typically, start up side effects will start to improve about 2-3 weeks in. Just give it some time. You can probably take it at night, it may help how you feel, at least during the day. Ask your doctor. Hang in there dear!
Avatar n tn Take it a mth and see if your side effects go away. Most times new meds make us feel different in the beginning so hang in there.
1187071 tn?1279369698 I am on Gabapentin 300mg 2 a day, I have had weight gain since being on them, I have gained 15 lbs in 2 months time. I am sitting here thinking if he ups my meds like he wants to the side effect of weight gain will only get worse. I talked to the people where I get Gabapentin and they said that that side effect don't go away and if the dose is inceased it will only get worse so if the med isn't helping me there are other options.
Avatar n tn ve learned over the years that side effects are different for everyone and not to judge a medication based on that. Possible side effects doesn't mean one will get all of them (which is what I tended to focus on). While being on Cymbalta, the one side effect I've noticed is insomnia. For the first little while I had nausea but that's gone away. Other than that, my appetite has increased and I'm eating a bit more.
Avatar f tn Iam taking 60mg of Cymbalta. I took 30mg at the beginning and after one week raised it to 60mg. I don't know why the doctor did that but I think if I taper off Effexor first and then start on Cymbalta, it is going to take long time to start feeling any improvement. Honestly, iam really tired and got impatient cz my situation is intolerable and I can't live this way. I can't explain how tough and sad is my situation now.
Avatar f tn Ive been on so many things over the years and they just stop working. Any side effects on the Cymbalta? Pristique didnt work for me at all.
Avatar f tn I changed from cymbalta to prozac. Cymbalta has terrible side effects and withdrawal symptoms. You must use caution when changing. With my doctor's guidance (and my research) this is what i did to make the change: For the first three days, remove two (2) grains of medication from the capsule. The next three (3) days, remove 4 grains from the capsule. The next three (3) days, remove 6 grains from the capsule; and so on until you are off the medication.
Avatar f tn He says I am at the point all he can do is relieve the pain but not take it completely away. Lifting and carrying young children is detrimental to my back. I also have RSD which I have been taking Lyrica, Cymbalta and Celebrex for the past 6 years. It is medically controlled and now the back. My head is spinning right now as I want to be here doing what I have always done.
Avatar n tn I asked our Dr. who did not stress negative effects and said teh pros would outweigh the negatives and at firdt it did. But as the meds strength increase so did sid eeffects. Noone even the pharmacist told us how the trazadone can make you SOOOOOOOOO nausea. The weight loss dramatic.
217229 tn?1192762404 I do not really have any side affects.... The only thing they do for me is make me tired... Try asking your Dr. about Zanaflex.... That will knock you out so you can get a good nights rest.
1258539 tn?1293840202 I have experienced both, and the only way i could get off cymbalta without life altering side effects was to take apart the capsules and slowly diminish the amount inside daily until i was almost taking an empty capsule. As far as depression and anxiety go, I would highly recommend Buspirone for anxiety, it was the only thing that helped me. And for depression, i've got backwards and away from SSRI and SNRI's and got to a tricyclic called Amitriptyline.
