Avatar f tn Anyway just wondering if anyone has considered the class action suits they have going on right now cause that is all they understand because really what is a few lives when it comes to profit. I watched my son not even know his own name and look absolutely terrified because he had forgotton how to walk or talk. He had lost his memory before it was over with and acted like a 95 year old man and he is only 39 years old. My heart broke , I thought I was in the twilight zone.
Avatar n tn When I went to my diabetes appointment last week or a couple of weeks ago I was told that my bad cholestrol was perfect and my good cholestrol was low so the doctor suggested for me to take Fish Oil Omega 3 I used to take 80mg.
Avatar m tn check carefully there is no prof of damage on who is making treatment, my dad is making it for cholesterol and treatment is for all his life of course it is better to have your liver healthy and as i have said very clear only for inactive carriers active carriers is a different story
Avatar n tn t take Zocor last night, and this morning I noticed about a 75% improvement in my symptoms. Is anyone else familiar with this?
Avatar n tn More important than the hair loss (though I am sure this is a big issue for many) is the fact that statins cause CoQ10 deficiencies that CONTRIBUTE to Heart Failure. I'd rather drop dead of a heart attack than suffer for years with Heart Failure if I had a choice. Be aware, coronary heart disease may not be increasing but there is an epidemic of Heart Failure in the western world, and the disease is devastating! The answer to heart disease is not more drugs and surgery!
Avatar f tn Thank you for your assessment is ischemic damage reflected on my brain scan. I have read the side effects of zocor because I am already experiencing several side effects from Lamictal. Are there any natural medications I could use as an alternative? I have low blood pressure and my cholesterol levels are slightly over the normal range.
Avatar n tn He has been using Zocor 40mg for the period of almost 2 months and he lost 18 pounds of mostly muscle mass. What is he to do next? How to recover his muscle mass? He is 68 years old.
Avatar f tn My best advice is allow yourself a few drinks occasionally, maybe smoke a little weed to keep you from going back to it, but long term suboxone use is not something ab average humans body was set up to handle. Some people use for decades with no problems, but some peoples bodies just have an astounding threshhold of drug tolerance, but for most of us long term use is going to have a foundry of negative health affects.
Avatar n tn Londres is certainly correct that there are a few other options available to treat what could be assumed to be familial hypercholesterolaemia, even though your doctor has obviously tried those that would be most obvious. Generally, if you experience muscle weakness as a side effect of Lipitor (atorvastatin), other statins will produce similar effects, so that eliminates the use of Zocor (simvastatin), Crestor (rosuvastatin) etc.
Avatar n tn I've been on Zocor for the last 4 1/2 yrs and never had any sleep problems, but everybody is different. Tell your doctor about it and see what he says/thinks should be done.

Avatar n tn 1) if there are any medications my father could be taking to help improve his memory, and 2) whether his current combination of medication may be affecting his memory. He is currently on zocor (20ml/day) for cholesterol, methotrixate and folic acid for psoriasis, and takes a 81 mg aspirin per day to help thin his blood. He had a pacemaker installed in 1993 (updated in 2002). Any thoughts or suggestions as to what we might explore with the doctors would be helpful. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Vytorin is a statin that lowers LDL and raises HDL. I believe Vytorin is a combination of Zetia and Zocor. I am not sure if the Vytorin will go with the Niaspam so you will need to ask your doctor that.
Avatar f tn They blame the Zocor and even put it in writing. My concern is whether or not an artery can clog up so quickly. Having had four heart attacks by age 50, I want to know what I'm dealing with or did they just miss the LAD clog during the October testing and procedure.
Avatar f tn I am on Zocor for borderline high cholesterol. My overal cholesterol level is only 106 now, down from 199. My PCP said yesterday that ones cholesterol can't be "too low." I totally disagree with her and told her so. My adoptive father had cholesterol levels in the high 300's, in spite of living on a diet of what he called "leaves and twigs." I don't have much medical information on my birth parents so don't know if high cholesterol runs in the family.
Avatar n tn I currently take 150mg of Zocor per day. Recently i have developed a cough, which I can deal with but when I cough I get pain shooting though my head. It takes a few minutes to go away and then things are find. Should I be worried.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to reduce without taking something like zocor, just quitting smoking? Rather quit smoking than stay on zocor. How concerned should I be?

Avatar m tn After the did the first stent they told us it would only be a month on Plavix but after the last episode they decided that he needed to be on it for a year. He is also taking 2 blood pressure pills, Coreg, and Zocor. So I guess it just depends on your case and your doctor.
Avatar n tn I started and took crestor for a while. This is right around the same time my afib started. I wonder if that is why I was getting it? Now I am getting because of Paricardial Effusion hopefully it will just go away! I cannot stand afib!!!!
