i am currently taking 10mg of olanzepine, and 200mg carbemazepine per day for bipolar. i am seeing a new psychiatrist who is strongly suggesting that i stop the olanzepine because i have greatly elevated levels of cholesterol and have gained 50 pounds. (have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have.
agree to all that is talked about above as she really should'nt be on 4 different anti-depressants as she sounds really distressed and requires sadly at this time serious assessment to determine what's so troubling her. be strong for her to achieve this.
So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.
I'm gonna say, substituting one problem for another is the way mentally ill people think. I eat too much sugar because it's something I can do and enjoy without doing something that I'm phobic about. But obviously it's a bad habit to have gotten into. Taking phen isn't a good idea. It's a dangerous drug and speedy. Eating extremely low calorie diets isn't good. It's never going to be able to give you all the nutrients you need.
This is probably not familial. It is almost certainly one or several of those medications that you are on. Indeed, with respect, it would be difficult to imagine how anyone could function "normally" on such a pharmaceutical cocktail! The ones that act on your brain need to be the first to go. Discuss this with your doctor. There must be better ways.
They gave me Depakote Er divalproex sodium 500mg and also Geodon ziprasidone HC 40mg for the pain they told me it would help me out for the pain I was going throw. I started looking the pills up on the internet and found out they where used for people with Bipolar issue.

This medicine is keeping me from a good night sleep. Sometimes 3-4 hours a night I sleep. I been taking old sleeping pills off and on with this medicine so I can sleep. I notice sleeping pills causes suicidal thoughts. Have anybody have any sleeping problems with this medicine?
I've noticed 3 days taking just 40 mg. per day of Ziprasidone (Zeldox) that my vision is very blurry (my eyes are bad at the best of times - wear special contacts & glasses) so this is very bothersome. It's listed on another site as a Common side effect, not an uncommon one....but I can't seem to see if it eventually goes away?? Would appreciate any comments ASAP before I see my doctor soon.

I take 20 mg of Geodone and Fluoxetine for depression. I forgot to take it one night and didn't sleep at all and later in the day, I began freaking out about my hands. Because you are playing "what if". We could be here for hours comeing up with "what if". If a condom is reused it is not easy to get on, it would be a struggle.
