my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..

Hi! There is definitely no magic pill that is safe and OTC. I had read something about immodium helping WDs when I was going through it. I read that you have to take a huge, unhealthy dose to help, and I wasn't willing to do that. I think it would be a horrible idea! It does help diarrhea though and won't hurt you if you use it correctly. You could ask your doc for some clonidine. That is about the only thing I ever tell anyone to do for WDs that is safe and not habit forming.

My daughter kept aspirating so they had to thickenher milk by adding rice cereal to her formula and also giving her zantac. Zantac works well for acid reflux she's able to eat without spitting up. Everything will be fine .

Yeah its not pleasant at all when you first take it but I'm 39 weeks and having my baby in a couple days so I'm not going to buy any more meds for that! I used to take zantac 150mg and it works wonders if you'd like to try that!

ve had other pregnant women tell me zantac is way to go. My dr just keeps saying tums. I go February 4th for next appointment. I'm going to talk to her then.

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

We went to the doctor and she had lost 6 pounds due to the fact that she is afraid to eat. The doctor suggested trying Zantac for reflux. She is taking the Zantac although I'm not seeing much of a difference. I have Irritable bowel syndrome myself and I am wondering if that is what she has? Any Ideas?

Your sister probably had a bad case of silent reflux which is why the Zantac helped a lot. This is a good idea for people to try though. I am very concerned that you said they had your sister on morphine and dilaudid. Unless she was in severe pain, she should have never been on these medications. They cause nausea and they slow down motility of the GI system. I too have bad gastroparesis and now I am 100% tube fed into my small intestine because of this.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Oh dear god I hope someone can help me! I've been excessively burping now for about a year. When it starts, I burp for sometimes up to 10 hours or more a day. This has left me incapable of doing much! I've had upper, lower GI testing and all tests come back fine. I need help... I've been on tons of different meds trying to stop this and nothing is working. The only bit of relief I get is if I lay down on my right side.. and it takes a while before it slows down.

Apple cider vinegar with the mother works for me. I took zantac before that.

I'd ask your doctor this question. I do know that some PPI's reduce the effectiveness of some cholesterol meds by about 4%, at least that is what I was told.

I went to a natural health store and was told to try two teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar in a cup of water before I eat as a substitute for the Zantac. This is the third day and I have had no reflux. Hopefully this will be a long term solution because I hate to think of having to try another medicine.

Try boiling cumin seeds in water for some time. It's makes the water yellow in colour. Drink this water and if you can manage it, eat the seeds too. My mom makes this for me every morning and it helps me greatly. She adds some tiny red onions (I don't know what to call it.. It's like shallots but red) and a pod of garlic along with the cumin seeds but you don't have to add this - the cumin seeds themselves should do the trick.
