Hi! I would like to know which supplier is commonly used here for tenofovir (viread) generic? I have researched one by Cipla Limited from India...90days supply at usd$133.48. Is that supplier reliable? Also, it says prescription required. What kind of documents do they require from our Doctors? Thanks for replying!

I have been on viread for over 8 years and each time the virus is always negative in the blood but hbsag risen up to 12000 recently and I have been taking this viread everyday. Kaletra and Viread are indeed HIV medications. Kaletra is only used for HIV but Viread is also approved for use with Hepatitis.

I am wondering if it is worth it at this point. It is 72 hours post-exposure for me right now and I took the triple therapy that I have-- Epivir, Viread, and AZT. I never drink alchohol. I take Viread regularly. I did used Lamivudine about seven years ago for a couple of months irregularly and then stoped as I heard at that time it can induce virus mutation. What is best approach for me now? Continue with Viread, or switch to Enticavir if combo is not a better option? I'm HBsAg positive and HBeAg positive.

If I were you, with your age, low platelet (can be suggestive of portal hypertension and/or cirrhosis), and DNA I would stay on Viread. Fibroscan and ALT is good, but with VL over the 2,000 iu/ml for hbeag and age I do not thing your doctor was at all being overly cautious with you. Just my opinion. Good luck.

viread is taken to have babies and dont infect them with hbv, you dont have to stop it on the contrary women not taking viread have to start it if they get pregnant with high hbvdna you can take viread during all pregnancy and also for breastfeeding, it makes no harm to the baby, many members here took it with no troubles as to liver damage, most patients have no liver damage from hbv only those with a stronger immune system/hbv specific mutations have damage from hbv if you want to stop it

There are now very clear guidelines regarding whether there is a need to treat, when and what drug to use. Viread is one of the drugs that can be used throughout pregnancy if it is necessary to treat, it is a class b drug. So discuss with your doctor if you have any concerns.

Any clue how long I may have to be on viread? Is there any goal? I know you may say life time but what that actually mean? 5 years? 10 years? or even more? Will it not damage my kidneys by then i.e in 5 or 10 years? if yes then what is advantage of saving liver at the cost of kidneys?

t remember, that was too low for hiv therapy and is too low for hbv too but they had to recover some money from the failure of hespera on hiv to cover research expenses.
