avelox

Avatar f tn Acular would be cheaper than Nevanac and is the same class of medication. Nevanac is being used as an anti-inflammatory. A different, very cheap medication that would do the job is prednisolone acetate 1% which comes as a generic. Tobramycin is not a truly equal substitution for Vigamox. However you should not need to use it for days and days. At our center we pre-treat for 1 day and then treat afterwards for 3 - 4 days, basically however long the bottle lasts.
Avatar n tn Finally, how do you know it is conjunctivitis and even if it is, it is more important to treat the cause of it rather than the symptoms produced by it. In short ... you need to take your dog to a good vet a) for a propper diagnisis and b) to get the appropriate treatment.
Avatar n tn He said it would probably take eight to twelve weeks to heal. Is there any way you can clarify what is wrong with my eye and why it will take so long to heal (if the current method works). I fell asleep with my contacts in one night,j ust one single night.
1428481 tn?1340593131 I have a strong feeling that my 2 month old son has pink eye! I have the eye drops (Vigamox) on hand and was wandering if I could use them on my son. I have heard a lot about pink eye but never in infants so I'm not sure how to treat an infant with Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis). He has green mucus basically gluing his right eye together. I have had to wipe it clean multiple times with a wet cloth.
Avatar f tn Yarrow, I wanted you to know that I had cataract surgery on my left eye on Jan. 11. And I used the Vigamox drops pre and post-op as directed. Three days after surgery, I woke up with a problem with my left shoulder. I'm not sure it was tendinitis, and maybe it was a coincidence that I had it. But I can tell you that it took about a month for it to finally get better! I stopped the Vigamox drops around Jan. 26. Just posting this as an FYI.
1415174 tn?1453243103 But it is the side effects of Vigamox. I just want to do the right thing. Every thing I have read says to treat this agressively. So, I don't want to lose my vision. I am very scared.

Avatar f tn I am no Dr. but I believe in 3 years the Vigamox might lose it's effectiveness. If it were me, this is one area I wouldn't cut back on because Vigamox is CRITICAL for your eye health after eye procedures. You don't want to kick yourself if your eye heals with complications. I too am always tring to save money where I can, but I would do without a new pair of shoes, jeans, or something else instead...just my two cents.
Avatar f tn You father is an ultra serious problem that is difficult to treat and that often leads to partial or complete blindness. Fungus infections can require treatment for months on end. Since oral pills do not reach the cornea in high concentration drops must be used very frequently. Thi is one of the most serious problems in the field of ophthalmology.
Avatar f tn Only someone that has examined your eyes can tell you how it should be used. It's important to know that "bacterial keratitis" is a potentially serious problem that can lead to permanent eye damage.
Avatar m tn It is unusual for patients to be allergic to Vigamox but does happen on occasion. Should not have any lasting effects past a few days. If your vision is blurry, ask the doctor if your cornea is clear and doing ok.
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me terramycin ointment (4 times daily) and vigamox drops (3 times daily) to treat conjunctivitis in both eyes. However, when applying terramycin ointment for the first two days, my eyes became more uncomfortable (watery, more discharge) and red. Is this is good sigh for healing? or should I stop usage?
Avatar f tn Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file. I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?
203342 tn?1328737207 If there is inflamation in my body, is there anything that should be or can be done to calm things down, and keep the inflamation in my eye or elsewhere from reccuring?
Avatar m tn I have a bad case of Blepharitis and my optician has prescribed Vigamox to be used for 7 days on my eye lids. I am on the 4th day and I don't see a whole lot of change in my eyelids. Is there something better than this? I also go to an Opthamoligist and he prescribed a salve, which also didn't work. I am putting hot compresses on everynight with a lid scrub (also not working.) I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks.
Avatar m tn It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar n tn I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
Avatar m tn Now one week after stopping the drops the eye is blurring up again. I was told I had a ulcer on my cornea but researching seems to show that that involves pain, which I have not had. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I do not have health insurance and have paid out well over $1,000 to get back to square one.
Avatar m tn Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar m tn I used to wear contacts every day for about eight to ten hours a day and then I'd take them out at night. I did this for about eight years and never had any problems until about a year and a half ago. In November 2009, I was diagnosed with pink eye and was given vigamox. About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop.
Avatar n tn Thursday my female 10 lb. 2 year old Japanes chin was lethargic and not eating. She was givin Reglan and Pepcid at the clinic. Friday still lethargic not eating and had a fever. Avatar m tn Often after I rise in the morning my eyes burn and water. Wiping them with a tissue does a good job of relieving the discomfort, and I'm generally good for the rest of the day. My concern is that I'm going to have cataract surgery this coming Wednesday, and I know that rubbing the eyes afterward is a bad idea. I'm hoping for suggestions as to how best to relieve the discomfort and not compromise the incisions by rubbing my eyes.
Avatar f tn I went to see a fam md and he gave me vigamox eye drops is that med good, my eye lid is still swollen, the doctor said it was a stye. what do you know about this medicine. thanks.
