Avatar m tn I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.
Avatar f tn ve just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on. Also I know steroid creams can thin the skin however when I mentioned this to her she said that it's nothing to worry about and some women are On It for life.
Avatar m tn Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
Avatar m tn Has anyone else suffered the dreaded Vaginal Atrophy. Have been prescribed Vagifem which is helping a little. Main problem for me is burning after urination. Don't like using the prescribed betnovate cream too often as this burns. Now trying the yes products. Some days I seem much better and then the next day it returns with avengeance. Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more.
Avatar n tn I am 58 and three years post menopause. I have been using Vagifem for over a year and love it. No side effects for me or my husband. I have read a lot about it and it seems to be widely thought of as an effective remedy for vaginal dryness in a way that does not let the estrogen be absorbed by the body. I will continue to use it.
Avatar f tn t change the color. It is not normal to have green discharge as a result of using Vagifem.
Avatar n tn Hi there is now a generic for Vagifem, I am thrilled as the other was so expensive
Avatar f tn When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
Avatar f tn I was just given a prescription for Vagifem and I have my Uterus. I'm using it because I feel like my skin is tearing during sex. It's very painful. I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. The drug has so many side effects that I'm somewhat worred about taking it. It's one thing that I could harm myself, but what about my spouse?
Avatar f tn In general most doctors will use intravaginally estrogen, pill or cream, nightly for 2 weeks and then twice weekly thereafter for maintenance. Using estrogen for 4 to 6 weeks is generally enough time to show improvement in the vagina for surgery.
Avatar m tn I am very concerned about the cancer risks associated with Vagifem in particular due to the fact that I will be taking such a high dose (I read that menopausal women- whom this treatment is normally indicated for would only take one tablet a day for two weeks and then three tablets per week subsequently). My doctor has dismissed my concerns due to the short duration of the treatment, however I have calculated that 8 weeks of treatment with my prescribed dose of Vagifem actually equates to 4.
Avatar f tn ll stop taking the Vagifem until I speak to her, but does anyone know if Vagifem is a risk factor if you have a post menopausal ovarian cyst? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Because I have recently had polyps and overgrowth of endometrium, I had to stop using them. I was without estrogen for some time in this year, and then I used local estrogen (Vagifem) and Vaginal balans. My vagina and vaginal atrium and urethra are in poor condition. I have also had osteopenia previously. And I have hypercalcemia, I should not use calcium pills. Could it be possible that I have cystitis or vaginitis? I hardly have any discharge from vagina.
Avatar f tn I'm a 59 year old post menopausal woman who recently had my 4th follow-up transvaginal ultrasound because of a small ovarian cyst. The cyst is still there (but quite small), however, my latest ultrasound has caused my doctor to schedule an endometrial biopsy for me. Here are the findings: "The endometrium measures 5mm in thickness. Tiny cystic changes are noted involving the endometrium. This finding was not seen on previous examinations.
Avatar f tn HI, I'm 27, my gynecologist put me on vagifem for vaginal dryness. My period is now a week late which is very unusual for my cycle. My boobs are achy but not sore to touch. Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??
Avatar f tn Following on from my above post, I saw the GP who told me she wrote to the gyno in September but has not yet got a reply. She will write again. She said I'd been put on the pessaries because the investigations showed some vaginal dryness. I wasn't aware I had 'dryness' and as I don't have any symptoms which I understand HRT is supposed to be to treat, I told her I'd decided to stop using them. I only wish I hadn't used them in the first place.
Avatar n tn My other problem ( besides the uterine polyp) is that I have had vaginal discharge on and off for a year. It was yellowish green..The doctor now thinks it is vaginal atrophy, and I have been given vagifem tablets. Every day for 2 weeks, followed by twice a week. I still have the vaginal discharge , except it is no longer yellowish green, it is white or clear or slightly yellowish. Here's my question.. Has any one else had this symptom from vaginal atrophy?
564491 tn?1320360393 God gave us the knowledge to do the things that we do and what we need to pray for here is that God gives the doctors she is seeing Wisdom. If he decided to heal her, then GREAT! I am a Christian also. Now, as your your problems, did you know that oxygen can cause headaches to be worse? Maybe you need to turn your oxygen down a little bit. CBT is cognitive behavior therapy, something that would probably help your sleep problems, I am about to go through it myself.
Avatar f tn Estrogen is used to help the viginal skin, mucosa, become more healthy so it will heal better after surgery. Estrogen does help some symptoms of prolapse such as urgency, vaginal dryness, frequent urinary infections.
Avatar f tn I still have vaginal concretions, althouhg I have not used gloves for many days. Now I believe that they are real vginal concretions! But I don't know what they are, maybe calcium carbonate. I have not seen calcium oxalate crystals in my urine. I have not taken a urine sample today.
Avatar f tn hi when my husband and i have sex i must use ky jelly first because im very dry, after we have had sex i am very, very sore. it is after i have had a lower hysterectomy. please help what can i do.
Avatar f tn It can really help with the burning and itching. I have also used Vagifem, which is a tiny tablet that comes with a slim applicator - no mess! When we go thru menopause those delicate areas can really take a beating and even if we take systemic estrogen those areas can still need some applied right there.
Avatar f tn Hi there, don't know much about Vagifem side effects but I do know about fibroid tumors and ovarian cysts. Was your pelvic pain on one side or the other? I know that ovarian cysts can cause bloating and back pain. By "TV" do you mean vaginal? What is your GP going to biopsy if they don't know what is in there? I had my uterus removed for several fibroid tumors and am now dealing with ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn Hello again, I forgot to ask this in my prior post regarding Vagifem. I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
