What is ultracet used for acetaminophen

Common Questions and Answers about What is ultracet used for acetaminophen

ultracet

Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar m tn I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination. I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period. If ultram is different than that is news to me.
901372 tn?1242309047 Ultracet is NOT Ultram. Ultram does NOT contain Tylenol. Get your facts correct!!! Ultracet is Ultram + Tylenol. Ultram is Tramadol period - NO TYLENOL!!!!
Avatar f tn s amazing to me that there are still doctors out there telling people that Tramadol is not addictive. Ultracet is Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Your husband is a WISE man to question this before he takes it! Congrats to him on 7 yrs Clean!!! If he is able to tolerate NSAIDS, he could take those or just acetaminophen (w/o the synthetic opioid, i.e. tramadol). I find that Advil Liqui-Gel Capsules work the best for me and there are generic versions of this too at Walmart or Walgreens.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is Tramadol and acetaminophen. Tramadol is highly addictive and a bear to quit. Those on Tramadol should taper off of it. It is a synthetic opiate. Most here would not recommend it for w/d.
Avatar m tn All medication questions are question for your doctor. No laymen can tell you what medications may be safe for you. Each person's cirrhosis is unique and needs to be treated on an individual basis. A lot depends upon how advanced your cirrhosis is and what if any complications you have from your cirrhosis. Only your doctor know the true status of your liver disease or any other conditions or disease you may have.
Avatar m tn Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
Avatar f tn t known to cause birth defects but could cause withdrawal symptoms for the baby. How is your baby doing? I am currently taking 2 sometimes 3 a day. Does anyone know if that is bad? Please let me know i mean i feel so guilty for taking this medicine. I'm just hoping there is some light at the end of the tunnel and that i'm not that bad of a person.
Avatar f tn I have been off vicodin for 5 full days ( except for crumbs I and dust remnants I can find anywhere I used to crush em up...I like to snort them).).I know...
Avatar n tn Thanks all & avisg - the doctor suggested the lockbox too. I used to hide the Ultracet but he went searching for it & found it. I thought the lock was too harsh but I guess not. And I just went to the pharmacy to refill my Adderall and guess what - someone dipped in there too. Probably only 1 or 2 but nonetheless, making me feel like maybe I didn't overreact.
8973366 tn?1406016708 Tylenol is the brand name in America for Acetaminophen. Its the only pain reliever/fever reduced that is safe to take while pregnant.
Avatar m tn The clinic that ran the clinical trial I treated with was part of a major teaching hospital's liver disease center. They were very particular about us using nothing other than Tylenol for pain, with a max dose of 1000mg per 24 hour period. Acetaminophen seems to be the one to use.
Avatar n tn I agree 6,000 mg of acetaminophen is way too much for a single daily does. Alcohol even in small amounts with acetaminophen can be deadly. Stop taking it right away and as a precaution see your doc and ask for a CBC and liver function test. Take care.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
366131 tn?1212562534 Thank you for sharing that with us. As you said you used this for the first 4 days and were able to get through the w/d's and that's great news, but as always, make sure to get rid of the rest of those things because they're another addiction waiting to happen if caution isn't used!! This is good information to have and I will be praying for you to start stacking up those days of sobriety, feels great doesn't it?
Avatar f tn I see what you mean. I was referring to someone who used it for purposes other than pain and I did not make this clear. Having been in pain for 4 years and at times to the point of agony, I certainly understand that needing pain medicine does not make one an addict. I feel that if you need it for pain, then noone has the right (I am referring to doctors and others who don't have a clue what pain is like) to question what a person in pain really needs.
Avatar n tn I am doing the w/d off Ultracet. My advice is DO NOT TAKE IT. Especially if you have a history of addiction. The problem with it is after taking heavier medication you need more of the Ultracet to get relief but at the amount it takes to feel better, you are risking a siezure. Get off everything all together, it will be worth it. That is what I have to keep telling myself.....
2105146 tn?1334593783 tylinol is safe as directed. People have liver problems from taking too much of it.
Avatar m tn over the years, I’ve found that most knowledgeable hepatologist/GI doctors will recommend Tylenol (acetaminophen) over other NSAID’s for minor pain relief. While acetaminophen is certainly hepatotoxic at large does, there is no evidence that it accumulates in the body; taken at recommended doses, it’s generally thought not only to be safe but preferable to NSAIDS.
