coreg

406412 tn?1217438384 I take coreg twice a day and I also take hyzaar for my bp...I was wanting to know if the coreg was mainly for my heart and if it plays a big roll in my bp?
Avatar f tn There is a medication that is being used in Europe that hopefully will be here in the US soon. It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states. I am not sure what the name will be of the medication when it becomes available in the US.
Avatar n tn I think he is crazy for doing this -- especially without telling the doctor . Is his heart really cured or are the meds keeping him healthy? and what will happen if he stops them altogether?
Avatar n tn On my own, I have experimented with taking only the night time coreg and other meds. The next morning I had more energy. Is there another medication I can take that would give me the benefits of coreg without the fatigue?
907968 tn?1292622204 I can only answer for the cardiologists I have had. They tend to stick to the same brand for each medication and gain a kind of experience in what dosage to administer. My cardiologists tend to stick to bisoprolol, ramipril, atorvastatin for example. I suppose over the years you get a kind of feel for how much a patient would need.

1198633 tn?1341182388 25ng and started on Cozaar 50mg to manage my blood pressure which is working out really great according to measurements. I was weaned from Coreg by taking just my dosage at night and skipping the morning one for two weeks and then to stop. Since about a week after I cut down to once a day I started to notice a constant pounding heart.
Avatar f tn what ken keith said is right. also your body may have built a tolerance to the med and you need to get with your dr to find what works for your body.
304450 tn?1192686333 What is the underlying cause for the low EF. Digoxin can increase contractions and sometimes used if there is heart muscle damage. If the heart is enlarged causing low EF, then afterload can be reduced with medication such as coreg and vessel dilation, etc.
Avatar n tn I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.
Avatar f tn This drug is also known under the brand name of Coreg...it is a beta blocker used to treat hypertension among other things. How high is your heart rate?
Avatar n tn I had a minor heart attack in August 2008 and I had 5 stents put in. I was started on coreg 6.25 two tmes per day. The dr recently reduced me to 3.125 because of weight gain. I am still gaining weight. I decided to stop it altogether and did not tell my dr. My resting pulse is up as well as my pulse rate upon exertion. I just stopped the coreg. Will this regulate itself in a few days.
Avatar n tn ve been taking it for almost 3 years and if I miss one dose i go into an MI and land in the hospital where they tell me my heart is still getting weaker, so I think Coreg gets more credit than it deserves.
792040 tn?1237582438 If you have this diagnosis, it would be dangerous not to be on a beta blocker which is what Coreg is. Coreg is really the best beta blocker and blocks the most receptors. Now that you are on Coreg, you should try not to worry too much. Just do not miss a dose or go off of it suddenly. Follow-up with your doctor. If you experience flutter with the Coreg, make sure to see your doctor.
Avatar f tn Other than lowering your pulse and blood pressure, if you took Coreg but did not need it, could it cause other damage? What symptoms would you have? I am on Coreg as a trial to see if it fixes my chronic shortness of breath. I just wondered if it was safe to do so or if it could cause permanent damage if in fact I did not need it.
475570 tn?1280941363 I take coreg twice a day, but coreg cr is a slow release medication for once a day. The recommendation is 1 capsule each morning wih breakfast that will help lower blood pressure all day and all night.
Avatar f tn AHA/AAC guidelines do not recommend an interventional procedure if the blockage is less than 70%. The exception would be if medication does not control symptoms (angina, chest pain due to an occlusion). I have totally blocked LAD and a 72% occluded circumflex for the past 6 years. My EF was 13 to 29%, enlarged left ventricle, and stented my RCA 98% blockade. The LAD over a period of time had developed collateral vessels that naturally bypass the blockage.
Avatar n tn But having any limitations even to do things I never considered doing in the past, really pisses me off. The real bee in my bonnet is this...what if the doctor is wrong (which I highly doubt, but still wonder) about my diagnosis and the need for all this serious stuff that has now become a part of my body. On the other hand, the ICD is not all that bad and it's comforting to know it's there. The Coreg does slow down my rapid heart beat, which does make me less anxious.
475570 tn?1280941363 It seems logical to take the medication with the morning meal. I take Coreg twice a day, rather than Coreg CR one a day with the extended release. My blood pressure and heart rate is very good.
Avatar n tn Need to protect your stomach and I am wondering if 243mg daily would cause stomach irritation. You have diabetes also? Coreg is the best medication for heart problems. I do not see why the enema would cause any harm, but you can check with your hospital pharmacy or your doctor just in case.
21064 tn?1309308733 It would be great to have a place closeby where we could provide a hyperlink to more information on medications common for heart patients. Will you please help me by letting me know what medication(s) you are currently taking, or what medication(s) you would like to know more about? For example, I am taking lisinopril for BP control and Inderal for PVCs. I would like to know more about cholesterol medications like lipitor, crestor and vytorin. THANKS!!!
Avatar m tn I would like to have kids but I am so scared that I may have a child with birth defects because of the medication I take. I take Coreg, Furosemide And Lisinopril. I am so afraid that the medication I take may cause a birth defect if I have a child. Does anyone anything about these medications and what they might do or not do, when trying to have children. Is there anything I need to do or be aware of. Thanks in advance.
