Avatar m tn Coreg (beta blocker and ACE inhibitor) can/will dilate vessels as does an ACE inhibitor, and is sometimes used for heart patients. Discuss the options with your doctor. Hope this provides an insight for you.
Avatar f tn If this is the case, the doctor could prescribe something to help you to calm down or you could do some form of relaxation. Sometimes a doctor prescribes a diuretic as well as the hypertension medication and that helps the kidneys to function better and release any fluid retention. It is still important to drink water though - 2-3 litres is usually recommend to be drunk daily, more if you are working out and sweating. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn I am on Cholesterol meds and hypertension meds(Metoprolol, Altace and Norvasc) which I have been taking for the last two years. Recently I used some viagra two hours before an encounter with my date. I started drinking after the taking the Viagra. The viagra did not work....I took another one and waited awhile and it still didn't work...I took one more and waited a while with no results.... I have used alcohol with viagra before and I performed well.

Avatar f tn My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/252636'>high systolic normal diastolic blood pressure?</a>.
Avatar n tn They put in 2 short stents and first two and longer stent in the longer area overlapping with stent for 85% blockage. Sent home with Plavix, Altace (Ramiprimil) and Lipitor (Ran-Atorvastatin). plus ASA. Have only taken Plavix and ASA so far and have a sort of congested feeling in esophagus and stomach-Like mild indigestion, feeling full and feeling like stuffing self when eat. Still in shock and ajusting. I have Fibro so other limitations and my wife has alzheimers so that is a big stress.
Avatar m tn I have seen several questions relating to 100% blockage of the RCA and can a person live. The answers I have seen are positive, however my question is, what is the probable long term prognosis as far as quality of life. I have recently undergone attempted angioplasty to try and unblock the RCA, due to continuing angina attacks, and unfortuneatly was unsuccesfull. I have been on a high chemical regime for some time and have been put on a new drug called Coralan (5mg).
Avatar m tn Hi: I used to be on flecinade for 3-4 years and it worked great - basically it was akin to nitro - when I went into Afib it would quickly help restore sinus rythm. I'm now on sotolol and altace (blood pressure) which seems to help keep my heart rate down but it feels like a war as my heart wants to race. I'm not sure of any side effects as I have several issues but it does work to keep my heart rate below 100's and most often in the 60's - 70's.
Avatar n tn From what I understand, plaque can begin to accumulate from childhood. As a child, I was spoiled through treats and dining out. Being from the south our diners were cooked by the motto that gravy and bacon made everything taste better. What can be done to reverse plague that has build up for 30 something years? Other than exercise and diet, is there any kind of treatment, medication, "super-food" (the fad of the day it seems) that will do the trick?
Avatar m tn Is the list contained in the drug store chain. For ex. it you are on the list at CVS, are you also on the list for Rite Aid, or Walgreen.
Avatar m tn Can you please also share what was your heart beat(pulse rate) with 25x2 and later with 6.25x2. What I understand is lower the pulse rate better is the recovery of heart function. Are you able to maintain pulse rate below 70 bpm with present coreg dose and exercise regimen. I have no problems with ACE-I though. With 5mgx2 Ramipril my BP remains 110/70 most of the time.
Avatar n tn I have reading a lot about Cipro and other fluoroquinolones today. From what I can tell, this is a very dangerous drug. It should be only used as a last resort for life threatening bacterial infections. It seems a lot of people have suffered injury and many lawsuits are being conducted presently. My question is, are there other antibiotic that I can switch to that will work? Any advice would be very appreciated.
