What is the difference between ultracet and ultram

Common Questions and Answers about What is the difference between ultracet and ultram

ultracet

Avatar m tn What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Here is an old thread talking about the differences between Ultram (which is just tramadol) vs. Ultracet (which is lower dose tram with added acet). Hope it is helpful: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?
901372 tn?1242309047 Ultracet is NOT Ultram. Ultram does NOT contain Tylenol. Get your facts correct!!! Ultracet is Ultram + Tylenol. Ultram is Tramadol period - NO TYLENOL!!!!
Avatar f tn I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more. I made sure to tell my friend to pass the word on that this drug was hardly new and definately wasn't a "new darvocet." Also, my mom is seeing a pain management dr. so she can get epidural steroid injections soon. She had told her dr.
Avatar m tn good drug and bad drug both are addictive. Hrdo gives more pain releif with less bad effects but both have them. Tramadol ultram is just no good.
Avatar m tn Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
Avatar n tn So, what is the day to day withdrawal like. I start a new job tomorrow and wanted to go into it with my head not cloudy, so I can do the best work possible. On Vicodin, I can't do that. I feel ne relief with the Ultram. I think it's in my head. If you can just give me a day by day of what to expect I would SO appreciate it!
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar m tn she asked how many perc i took in the last 2 days and i told her 3 thinking there was no diff between the two and the fact they are both yellow.i told her that they were a prescibed med and i had the bottle to prove it. they were left over when they switched me to perocet from the hydros.i have had over 30 diff. meds written to me and when they ran me out due to appt error i took three hydros to get me through the pain which requires stronger meds than they even give me.
684012 tn?1227990456 m surprised that your physician has prescribed you vicodin and ultram together as that is a high dosage of pain medications. The bumps you are experiencing is likely an allergic reaction, so please be sure to mention this side-effect to your doctor. I hope she can work with you and find a combination that will relieve the pain. I certainly can relate to feeling like a pin cushion. Take care of yourself and keep us updated.
954920 tn?1254429338 tram and ultram are not different. ultracet has has tylenol and tram. tramadol is just tramadol .
Avatar n tn Is there a formula for weaning yourself off ultracet? Am taking 5-6 a day for 3 years. What can I expect?
Avatar f tn I see what you mean. I was referring to someone who used it for purposes other than pain and I did not make this clear. Having been in pain for 4 years and at times to the point of agony, I certainly understand that needing pain medicine does not make one an addict. I feel that if you need it for pain, then noone has the right (I am referring to doctors and others who don't have a clue what pain is like) to question what a person in pain really needs.
Avatar m tn was doing some reading and it seems the dol hcl is like the hydrocodone and the regular dol is like ultram--- however the ultram er is totally different than the regular ultram??? anyone know the diff on these nightmares??
348629 tn?1212325673 The reason that Ultram can be bad with antidepressants (SSRIs) is that they both result in more serotonin being available in the brain. There is a condition which can develop where you get serotonin overload (called serotonin syndrome) and it can be very very serious. Methadone is a different kind of drug from ultracet, so i don't think there would be the same complication.
Avatar n tn Hot baths with epson salt (if you have it)or hot showers, heating pads help some, imodium for your belly problems, bananas, gatoraid, lots of water ,try to eat and getting up and moving around even exercise if you can.Getting out of the house and walking up and down my driveway helped me more than anything. There will be people who know more than me that will help you soon.Good Luck and keep on fighting you can do this!
Avatar n tn but the drug is often abused and therefore habitforming..and can be at the recommended dose as well if addiction is a problem...my friend did this as well...stopped hydros and is on tramadol..she is taking 10-15 a day..probably more as this is what she admits to taking..and is very addicted to it....very little pain relief for the problems they can cause...
Avatar n tn IVE BEEN TAKEING ULTRACET ABOUT 20 OR MORE A DAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH RAN OUT THIS MORNIGN I USUALLY WAKE UP AND TAKE 10 RIGHT AWAY IM OUT AND IM VERY NERVOUS FEELING AND SHACKY AND MY STOMACH HURTS AND I HAVE SEVER CRAVEING WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME !!!!
Avatar n tn Ultrcet is the time release form of Ultram/Tramadol. If I recall correctly, my dad was prescribed 100mg. The dose you are on sounds rather low, but as the other posters have stated, this medication has a built in antidepressant and for this reason it is better to taper than stop cold turkey. However, you can do either. I stopped a heavy ultram use several years ago. 90 50mg tabs would last me less than a week. I was taking the for what I thought was an energy boost and weight loss.
Avatar f tn Hi all. I'm new here. I suffer from chronic pain...24/7. It is so miserable. I was born with an extra-half of vertebrae but it looks like there is another half in a different location in my neck. I was told the vertebrae are fusing. Surgery is out of the question unless my spinal cord is being damaged - which thank goodness hasn't happened and hopefully never will.
Avatar m tn is tramadol ultram and ultracet all the same an is it as the phramiscits see it non norcotic?
446097 tn?1223694666 Well I relapsed a couple of weeks ago but tapered my norcos over the weeked and am now on day 2 clean (yay for me). The problem is I have a MAJOR job interview today and am not feeling well. chills, runny nose, bathroom, etc. I found an Ultracet lying around. Will this help me get through today? I really need to bring my A game.
Avatar f tn not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...
Avatar f tn is ultracet a combo of ultram and loracet?....some peopl r different i guess....like i could take my percosets as prescribed but oxycontin i couldnt......and it takes time to get addicted......as u know since u have been addicted to vicodin......beware....
Avatar f tn Contact your doctor and be assertive. Tell him that what he is prescribing is not working, and that you would like something strong to help the pain. You may have to take a day or two off of work until you see how new meds affect you, but if they help your pain, they're worth it until you can decide how to either correct the problem or deal with it long-term. I feel so badly for you. I know what it's like to live in constant pain, because I do.
Avatar f tn ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
