What is the difference between ultracet and tramadol

Common Questions and Answers about What is the difference between ultracet and tramadol

ultracet

Avatar f tn Here is an old thread talking about the differences between Ultram (which is just tramadol) vs. Ultracet (which is lower dose tram with added acet). Hope it is helpful: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn ing on opiates) throws the opiates off of the receptors and puts you into withdrawal and blocks the binding of opiates to the receptors. Ultracet is tramadol and tylenol. Tramadol is addictive, though, in that it can actually give you seizures if you suddenly stop taking it. Everyone reacts differently to medication, but I've never heard of anyone being signifigantly eased of pain by an Ultracet. Best of luck with the PT! That's probably your best shot.
Avatar f tn I would read up on here of peoples storries about teh tramadol and see what u find. How long have u been off the hydrocodone?
Avatar f tn Now I am attempting to get off of those last two a day ultracet pills and things are not going as well as I had hoped. The first few days were the tingling and pins and needles in the feet symptoms. Then the extream sweating. Last night felt like every bone in my body was broken. The temptation to just go back to two a day is stong, but I have gone through a lot and do not want to have to repeat it all again. Any thoughts on what to do?
Avatar f tn s amazing to me that there are still doctors out there telling people that Tramadol is not addictive. Ultracet is Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Your husband is a WISE man to question this before he takes it! Congrats to him on 7 yrs Clean!!! If he is able to tolerate NSAIDS, he could take those or just acetaminophen (w/o the synthetic opioid, i.e. tramadol). I find that Advil Liqui-Gel Capsules work the best for me and there are generic versions of this too at Walmart or Walgreens.
Avatar f tn Contact your doctor and be assertive. Tell him that what he is prescribing is not working, and that you would like something strong to help the pain. You may have to take a day or two off of work until you see how new meds affect you, but if they help your pain, they're worth it until you can decide how to either correct the problem or deal with it long-term. I feel so badly for you. I know what it's like to live in constant pain, because I do.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is Tramadol and acetaminophen. Tramadol is highly addictive and a bear to quit. Those on Tramadol should taper off of it. It is a synthetic opiate. Most here would not recommend it for w/d.
901372 tn?1242309047 The point of the treatment medication is to keep the levels of the Pegasys and the ribabvirin at consistent levels. That's why there is a shot every week (on the same day each week) and why you take a certain number of ribabvirin each day. Staying on the medication schedule is critically important; every shot and every pill on time. I see by your journal entry that you are on week 4 and you have already taken a week off from both the Pegasys and the ribabvirin.
898832 tn?1243968023 narcotic like/stronger than tram in that respect with an actual AD mixed in..neurocet is tramdol...ultracet which tram mixed with tylenol but is not labeled here in the us as such but is an out of country brand..
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar n tn IVE BEEN TAKEING ULTRACET ABOUT 20 OR MORE A DAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH RAN OUT THIS MORNIGN I USUALLY WAKE UP AND TAKE 10 RIGHT AWAY IM OUT AND IM VERY NERVOUS FEELING AND SHACKY AND MY STOMACH HURTS AND I HAVE SEVER CRAVEING WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME !!!!
757597 tn?1315801812 mil, Tramadol 50mil w/tylenol every6 hrs as needed. I hear the drug is addictive and causes seizures and SSRI syndrome. Is anyone else taking it ? If so do you have side effects? I'm really afraid. I was happy I felt better but I don't want to die because I was taking the wrong drugs. I don't have anly side effects right now. Also besides the Fibro my rheumy "thinks" I have RA or some other auto-immune disorder hence the anti-inflammtory drug(melox) and the predisone.
Avatar f tn Hi Mom, I was addicted to Tramadol for 18 months, with 9+ months of daily abuse. I am still learning about it and am a Vet, having Rx'd it for my own patients. The short of it is, it IS addictive and do NOT believe ANYone telling you it is not. I believe that you have an addiction if you revolve your days and thoughts about when your next dose is, if you get excited to take it, if you seek it out and start doing things you normally would not to get it, things like that.
Avatar f tn Ultracet=tramadol AND acetominophen...the apap is the only difference. It's just bad news. The end. :) V.
Avatar m tn stated letters sent to healthcare professionals by the FDA and PriCara, the maker of the 2 medications and a division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals. The letters, 1 for each medication, noted that tramadol, an opioid, can intensify the effects of other opioids as well as alcohol and illicit drugs that depress the central nervous system. The letters also warned that people with addiction disorders may seek out tramadol and cited the risk of criminal diversion.
Avatar f tn Let me change that to nothing addicting. tramadol is what is called a synthetic analgesic it is very addicting and work very much like the other opiates as well as having an ingredient that has anti depressant qualities.
Avatar n tn Sorry but this information is incorrect. Tramadol is what is know as a partial opiate agonist, that is it acts on the same opiate receptors as what you are calling narcotics. It is combined with an SNRI antidepressant which is very similar to effexor. The theory is that combining an antidepressant with an opiate will enhance the painkilling properties of the opiate so that a "milder" opiate can be used.
Avatar n tn I take tramadol for pain in my neck and back. Since I started I have been constipated. Does tramadol cause this? I try to go without laxatives but when I get to the 6th day, I am so uncomfortable that I resort to the laxative. Is this safe for me to do? I have tried metamucil, fruit, stool softeners etc. Nothing works except enema's or stimulant laxatives.
954920 tn?1254429338 If you do not feel like you can handle this yourself I would suggest that you talk to your doctor about it. Keep posting and talking about it it seems to help.
Avatar n tn but the drug is often abused and therefore habitforming..and can be at the recommended dose as well if addiction is a problem...my friend did this as well...stopped hydros and is on tramadol..she is taking 10-15 a day..probably more as this is what she admits to taking..and is very addicted to it....very little pain relief for the problems they can cause...
Avatar n tn Ultrcet is the time release form of Ultram/Tramadol. If I recall correctly, my dad was prescribed 100mg. The dose you are on sounds rather low, but as the other posters have stated, this medication has a built in antidepressant and for this reason it is better to taper than stop cold turkey. However, you can do either. I stopped a heavy ultram use several years ago. 90 50mg tabs would last me less than a week. I was taking the for what I thought was an energy boost and weight loss.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar f tn Yes stomach and intestinal issues are possible side effects. Have you consulted your doctor? What dose are you on? Do you take as prescribed?
