Avatar f tn I would recommend you drink some almond milk and see how you feel for a few days. The main ingredient in Tums is Calcium Citrate. And often excess acid is because of a lack of calcium in diet. Drink a cup of almond milk for two days and see how you feel.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am looking for some advice... some gastrointestinal or anyone who have similar experience. Normally I don’t eat much or sometimes nothing in morning except tea or I drink lots of lots of water... 6 months back evening 7pm I took Turkish coffee which I never drink before in my life... This gave me like heart attack... chest burning and it was so strong that I had to call my friend who took me to hospital... doctor after examining gave me PANTOPRAZOLE 20MG to use before breakfast...
709686 tn?1277432159 Esomeprazole (Nexium) is slightly different than omeprazole (Prilosec). But your body could react the same way. You could try a small amount and see. There are some combo otc drugs by Rolaids and others that have an antacid and famotidine (acid reducer). Those probably don't work as well.
Avatar f tn I had not taken the omeprazole for awhile but when I started treatment with sovaldi and olysio I started taking it again because I was having a huge problem with gas and pressure. It helps me enormously. Some people say you should not take it with treatment drugs but I contacted both Sovaldi and Olysio and was told it is fine to take. Plus, my doctor also said it is okay. I have cirrhosis. I take 20 mg twice a day as prescribed by my doctor.
Avatar f tn I have been trying to google this and find out what I can in the difference between these 2 areas as far as where lesions present in different areas. So far I have only become more confused. Thank you in advance.
Avatar m tn We really need to do our research and be our best advocate because doctors don’t have the time or sometimes they don’t have the inclination to look beyond the end of their nose. And that is yet another rant for the night.
Avatar f tn No, it is not like that. Omeprazole base is the active form. In prilosec OTC, it is given in the form of omeprazole magnesium. In the body it gets converted in to omeprazole base before it starts acting. ================================================================ The information provided is for patients’ education only and is not a medical advice. Avatar f tn My best way to describe the baby movement (early movement) have you ever felt a gold fish swim in a bag of water?!?! That light swooshing is simular to the baby moving. Also when a fish pecks at the bag is simular to the kicks! I alway been able to feel the baby by laying on my belly (at this point of pregnancy it won't hurt baby)! If you lay on your belly and feel that fish movement you will know if it's gas or movement when you are not laying on your belly!

999891 tn?1407276076 What is the difference between herniation and overcrowding, I understand the concept of each but from a Chiari perspective is there a difference, if the tonsils have herniated into the foramen magnum then surely this leads to overcrowding….. on some of the medical sites they talk of these as separate issues, others role them into one. I am just curious.
Avatar m tn I have seen several questions relating to 100% blockage of the RCA and can a person live. The answers I have seen are positive, however my question is, what is the probable long term prognosis as far as quality of life. I have recently undergone attempted angioplasty to try and unblock the RCA, due to continuing angina attacks, and unfortuneatly was unsuccesfull. I have been on a high chemical regime for some time and have been put on a new drug called Coralan (5mg).

Avatar f tn Food intolerance and inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s, celiac etc should be considered. Log in what you eat and see if there is a correlation between a certain food type and the symptoms. You should consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) for this. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have been on Aciphex 20 since 2007, with instant results. After changing Health Ins. , I am told by the current insurer that they won't cover Aciphex. I must go thru a step program, starting with Nexium, which my Doctor dosed at 40 mg instead of 20 mg, saying Nexium didn't come in 20 and the 40mg of Nexium is comparable to the 20 mg Aciphex . Questions: (1) Is the above true? (2) Are the side effects the same, and (3) What's the difference between the two.
Avatar f tn You posted on an old thread that's from 2008. You should start your own thread so you have one that is dedicated to you. These older threads tend to get overlooked. An opiate is an opiate so switching from vicodin to percocet will not help. Sure, it will get you off the vicodin but you will then be hooked on percocet. Our brain can't tell the difference between the two. All it cares about is that you're filling the receptors.
