334776 tn?1249968581 I am doing cord blood banking. I feel it is a small price to pay for peace of mind. I am also in the research science field so being in my profession I couldn't in good conscience not do it. It's amazing the things they can do now, think about 10 years from now. I have looked into a few companies. I know with many of them you can pay up front the total cost for banking and 20 years storage. Of course you may not want to bank for a full 20 years and in that case the price is much lower.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know what an adenosine stress test is like? I have to have one in the morning.
7758733 tn?1402589420 Non stress tests are typically performed after 28 weeks of pregnancy. The most common time a non stress test is ordered is when a woman goes past her due date. There are no risks or possible side effects associated with a non stress test. Some women are advised to under go non stress tests for reasons other than post term. These reasons include: high risk pregnancies, history of complications in the third trimester and diabetes. Non stress tests can be performed right in the doctor’s office.

148588 tn?1465778809 Well, the benefit would be to widen the pool of potential donors, similar to what FB is trying to do with organ donations. Besides being the obvious cloesest genetic matches, I would imagine the Registry would give the immediate family priority in using any viable cell cultures. If not, then, of course private banking would make more sense. I think it's an interesting topic. Let us know anything you discover in your research.
Avatar f tn What is this?
Avatar f tn It could be because of the pills, or stress, or weight gain. Your best bet is to go in and get a blood test done to make sure.
Avatar f tn I am doing cord blood banking and also banking the cord itself, "tissue" banking. Cord blood is most effective against childhood blood-borne cancers and I have 2 cousins who had leukemia and non Hodgkins lymphoma. They are sisters, one died at 19 yrs old. We grew up on the well known toxic waste dump site in south Houston, TX just around the corner from each other and so I worry for my kids. It's only like $3,000 initially then a few hundred each year to keep it banked.
Avatar f tn I was banking on my right ear to have some normality in life, but now I am totally panicking. What if I go deaf in both the ears, I have a young family, am a working professional at the age of 39. This cannot be happening to me. What are my options. I know the loss is profound on the left side and now right will be classified as moderate. Will any hearing aids help me ever?
Avatar n tn This soft plaque usually does not cause stenosis (narrowing of the vessel) so it is not observed with a stress test. Also, soft plaque is much more likely to cause a heart attack as any cardiologist will tell you, as it is the soft plaque that ruptures and causes a clot within the lumen (inner channel) and a heart attack. Stenosis is more, likely to cause chest pain and heart failurre.
Avatar f tn I've had a non-stress test done during my pregnancy. It's really easy and a bit boring. You go in, they hook you up to this machine and monitor baby movements and their heartbeat after.
Avatar f tn Okay so I have had a 4th gen test at 7 weeks post possible exposure and an HIV RNA test at 8 weeks post possible exposure, both tests came back negative. Now I have heard that I can consider these tests results conclusive, yet I am still having a lot of anxiety about it. I keep having the "what ifs" talk with myself. What if the lab was not legit or what if my test got messed up or what if this what if that.
Avatar m tn What is nonreversible apical inferior wall and what does it mean when they say no dipyridamole-induced reversible ischemia .there is mild defect in the apical inferior wall that is not reversible at rest.
862553 tn?1239060736 Of course i had the ct with my heart at rest before the stress test and then after the stress test... But am wondering what you would think is possibly going on. My maternal grandfather died because his heart actually exploded and my father himself has had bypass surgery... so there is a hitory in our family all my sibling's take meds for high blood pressure and one sister takes heart medication already ... Could you please let me knwo what your thgouhts are on this ...
Avatar n tn What the cardiologist is looking for on a stress test is achieving 85% of you max predicted heart rate. Once that is met, the test is usually terminated. In you case that would be 133 BPM (220-age)*.85). Mets is simply a calculation used to determine the amount of energy expended to calculate calories burned.
Avatar m tn what does the stress test mean when it comes back abnormal with impressions of small area of mild distal anterior wall ischemia, no fixed defect to suggest .
Avatar f tn Having just one during this test is not unusual because they are stressing out your heart purposely to try to trigger what sent you there in the first place. The good news is if they have told you they don't need to see you until April....be very very happy...........if something was wrong or alarming to them you would not have left that office without further testing or them sitting you down talking to you about something that they;ve found during the test.
Avatar n tn I think that is one stent, 23mm in blockage terms is long. That's virtually an inch in length.
