Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Good idea to see the eye doc. I have taken both Neurontin still take its cousin Lyrica, and they both blur my vision, so let's hope that's all it is for you. I have also been taking a tranquilizer for many years, and it changes my vision, kind of waters my eyes up and increases color saturation.
585414 tn?1288941302 I understand some of these questions are complex but given that the tardive conditions cause respiratory convulsions and myoclonic spasms any idea that its been of some use would be of great help to me.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
Avatar f tn BUT, they still minimize the amount of spasms I have to endure in any given day and that is VERY NICE as those can be very painful (I know all of you what I am talking about). I use a theracane and perform self accupressure to loosen the muscles in my back perodically. I have noticed that since I started extended release morphine for DDD/Lumbar radiculopathy that the morphine stiffens my muscles and I have read that as a potential side effect.
Avatar m tn But yeah the other day I could not sleep at all cause I had really really strong muscle spasm/twitch. Not sure what the difference is since all this is new happenings. But yeah I might do a quarter skelaxin once or twice a week here and there to help me sleep, I deserve a break I think. hehe. ordered a theracane from amazon.com. :) as well as this book? http://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Point-Therapy-Workbook-Self-Treatment/dp/1572243759/ref=sr_1_3?
Avatar f tn and that u were not on a super high dose...anything we use each night for sleep can back fire on use/even benadryl/ as ur body will feel it needs it for sleep...soma is addictive so it is good u r quitting...melatonin works for many...valerian root works best for me...everyone is different...there are lots of sleep meds/supps on the market so i doubt u r alone in the sleep issue thing....amitryptilline in small doses helps me sleep if i just take it here and there...
Avatar m tn any idea what I can do next for the headache and what the heck is causing the loss of taste. I was wondering if one of the meds I was on could cause it? I have been off Prednisone for 7 days. The Dr put me on Zanaflex nightly and I take at bedtime (for the past 3 nights) which has not helped. Any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated. Also, I'm 36 years old and in pretty good health, also have Hashimoto disease.
Avatar n tn capsules 300mg 1xd for fibromyalgia, Prilosec 1xd for uclers, Celebrex 1xd for inflammation causing chronic pain, Skelaxin,400mg 2-4xweek, Addarall 50mg daily for ADD, Foltrin bid for anemia, Estrovent for hot flashes, an most recently I am being bolased with 5000u Vit. D due to vit D deficiency and liquid calicium 1000mg with 400mg vit D. I have never been much of a drinker, if i had 5 drinks/year that was a lot.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if its normal for everybody, but I did have a lot of pain and tightness through my neck and shoulders while I was detoxing. The skelaxin is a very mild muscle relaxer and non-narcotic (I'm pretty sure), so shouldn't be a problem. May even help. Having DDD in the neck is going to leave you with some pain that may be exagerated in the first few weeks. give it just a little time to level out before you try to judge what your "normal" pain will be.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome! I'm sorry about all the pain you're having to deal with. If I understand your post, you're taking percoset, klonopin and skelaxin? Did I miss any? Percoset is a strong drug in itself, klonopin is an anti anxiety and skelaxin is a muscle relaxer. If you're wanting to stop the medications and stick with physical therapy, I would TAPER off of them one at a time. We can't recommend tapering schedules here, but I would start with the percoset.
442042 tn?1205707694 we are on day#3 of methadone wd and we pushed heavy vitamins, including B12 injections, we drink calmag about 5 or 6x daily, aminos, check out our journal if you would like to see exactly what we take. It helps a lot overall but RLS is a big issue for my fiance (I think he may even have a touch of RLS aside from this). He has been wrapping his legs in ace bandages...a little pressure helps a lot. Also, if you can, add epsom salt to your bath water. This is rough, but it will be so rewarding.
Avatar m tn I use Soma and as runitskat said, it is a muscle relaxer. I find that it works pretty well for me and for me, it does not make me as sleepy as flexeril does (another muscle relaxer), but of course, everyone is different, so it may very well affect you differently. I've also tried Skelaxin, but for me, it did absolutely nothing.
Avatar m tn oxycontin express is what it is called
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
163240 tn?1337904361 I just hope that my muscular neuro isnt putting all his hopes on it being genetic to only find out years later it isnt. I just really want some help for what is going on. I am tired of being tired and worn down and zapped off all energy and the pins and needle and numbness just needs to go away. And while we are at it can i have my vision in my one eye back to normal please. UGH sorry for the rant.
Avatar f tn I found that warm showers and a heating pad helped a lot. I also would rotate my pain meds-take 1000mg of Tylenol and then 2-3 hours later take ibuprofen or naproxen sodium...take Tylenol again 6 hours after the first dose... Effexor XR helped my sleep (and honeslty good sleep helps more than ANYTHING) and I had more energy (heh, I could get out of bed most days LOL). My pain was caused mostly by horrible muscle spasms and Skelaxin helped with that.
Avatar f tn I have had chronic, daily pain in my left scapula for years, it has increased significantly in the past couple of months to the point that it is unbearable at times. I've been taking ultram, neurontin, motrin, and skelaxin for it which has helped a little. I've been using ice & heat, and have been trying to do stretching and strengthening exercises to help. None of these conservitive measures are helping my pain, and I feel that I need to see a specialist.
Avatar m tn Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests. All came back normal except Vitamin D. Advised to take 1000mg of Vitamin D per day. Follow up appt. set for 7/10 where they will do a urine test again.
