2006603 tn?1331329327 they probably saved my sons life. He also was on zantac daily. Dairy is really bad for babies and us too but in moderation everythings OK..
Avatar n tn The difference is the dosages. OTC is 75mg and 150 mg; Rx is 300 mg. You can always check with your pharmacist as well.
Avatar n tn I am taking the drug to reduce the acid effect to the stomach lining which has been a concern lately. I am certain that the missing heart beats are caused by the drug but the doctors are reluctant to accept it. I am not sure if I could replace Ranitidine with another drug to do the same job.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar n tn Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
569254 tn?1267372644 My son was diagnosed at 4 months and ever since he has been put on meds everything has been great. He still has issues with drinking but its a whole diffrent problem. A little spit up now and then but other than that nothing:) I would ask your peds about meds, it really helped for us:) Good luck!
2085202 tn?1373199740 I certainly feel very ill and in alot of pain with even my intestines hurting, urinating alot more and a rapid heart beat. Also what is the best way to cure or treat gastritis? I'm currently on Ranitidine anti acid reflux meds. They don't seem to be doing a whole awful lot unfortunately. Any help would be greatly valued and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have some serious heart burn, tried Tums, milk, gaviscon..... Any other safe suggestions???? This is my second pregnancy.
Avatar f tn i take antacid when have heartburn if i happen to eat anything which is not suitable for my present stomach condition. pls tell me, is it safe to take those medicines if i am pregnant? or do i have to abort if i am pregnant? i am very much worried....thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn If still you are not responding reevaluation is needed and 24 hours pH monitoring test may be done for confirmation. Sometimes it could be due to bile reflux and the treatment is different. If acid reflux is confirmed and not responding to medical therapy then surgery might have to be done. I would also suggest that esophageal manometry be done to rule out esophageal spasms which can cause similar symptoms.
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
Avatar f tn My bf always uses the pull out method and I know that doesn’t always work but it’s been working for us for years now. I know it’s a possibility that I could be pregnant but I’m praying that’s not the case. I’ve been having cramps and major bloating feelings super emotional but no period. I am on a low dose of Zoloft and ranitidine for acid reflux but that has never interrupted anything.
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar f tn I’m wondering if it’s the ranitidine causing. Urologist has no clue. Reg Dr wants me to have colonoscopy. What is is, what do I do. I might go to area Hosp. ER tomorrow. Tied of constant pain. Father had cancers. My PSA was high recently. Please help. Pray for me.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn The next day I went back to the doctor and she said the x Ray showed I had lots of stool and prescribed Miralax and ranitidine because she thought the abdominal pain was caused by acid. I took Miralax for two weeks and it stopped the bloating I had a follow up on April 7th. Before the follow up I went on that Monday because I had blood in my stool the emergency Doctor of the clinic said it was an anal fissure and increased the miralax to three caps.
Avatar m tn Went to urgent care a week later for them to tell me my breathing is fine and sent me off w/ instructions to take an expectorant and a rx for albuterol. Both did not work.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Ranitidine is just the generic form of Zantac and I am on the same thing, also 150mg, and it is considered safe during pregnancy. I believe my doctor said it was like a Class B (for pregnancy) which is one of the safer things to use, anything below Class A or B is considered a little less safe, if I understood him correctly lol. Hope it helps you, I know it's helped me with my acid reflux.
Avatar f tn My Dr gave me Ranitidine. It is cheap, and works wayyy better than any non prescription aids. My acid reflux was horrible, and I wish that I had asked months before. Talk to your Dr. It is really a life saver! Feel better soon!
Avatar m tn To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so. I also noticed when taking TUMS that I only need to take less than one tablet for it to be effective (say about 500 mg /day. Occasionally 750mg). One question I have is would it be better to only take Tums instead - even if I need to use ~500mg each day?
Avatar f tn Mine feels like a ball of pressure tightening up in my stomach and my belly gets rock hard. They could start for you any time.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Have you been checked for STD's? Is it related to any foods you eat?
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
