symbicort

Avatar n tn We dont tend to use pulmicort over here so much which is neither here nor ther but my convern is that your little boy is using nebulisers. Are these used freely in the U.S.A All the latest research would suggest that a bronchodilator given via a large volume spacer is as effective and safer. it might be worth looking up some stuff about it.
Avatar f tn Without coughing, the lungs would fill up with mucous and that is more dangerous as it blocks the airways and sets up the lungs for secondary infections. For most asthmatics night time is when it tends to flare up more. That is why he is coughing more at night. It will take a few days for the steroid to kick in. Just keep up with his treatments and keep an eye on his symptoms. Especially for sever shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn if you don't need both medications, pulmicort was the cheapest that me and my doctor found. Advair diskus 250 was lasting two weeks for (4 puffs a day) and pulmicort for $15 more, had 200 doses and I was only using 2 a day because it was 400ug instead of 250. The best is to go and ask a pharmicist to look up the prices for you.
Avatar f tn here I am 1 year later and my daughter takes pulmicort 1 time a day and 2 times a day when sick. She is exellent- cant even tell she has asthma. Pulmicort is 100 times safer than prednislone and albuterol.
Avatar f tn Dear All, My son is three years old, sometimes he has a constant cough and I use for him 1ml combivent and 1ml pulmicort in the nublizer, these days combivent is out of stock, can i use pulmicort alone and what is the recommended dosage. Please advise.
Avatar f tn t be the problem and pulmicort is a powder. I remember when i was younger that the powder ventolin I had made me cough, so now I take the spray.
Avatar n tn I just looked up pulmicort and it is a corticosteroid and isn't usually used if the patient has an infection,it will actually prolong or worsen the infection, unless they're simultaneously givien antibiotics. But don't stop this medication without the direction of a doctor either. The xopenex on the other hand shouldn't cause any contradictions.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind right now. My preventive asthma medication seems to cause nausea and general cloudiness when I take them. When I stop taking them, the dizziness stops so I know that it's the cause. I've tried a handful of different medicines like Flovent, Dulera, Qvar, Advair, Pulmicort and even Singulair and they all cause this nauseating effect. I'm wondering if any of you know what this might be and any way to stop it.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed two types of inhalers for me. One of the medications is called Pulmicort. This medication I use once is the morning and once at night. The other medication is called Bricanyl Turburhaler. Some people also call it a " puffer" or an " inhaler". The Bricanyl I am instructed to use as needed, not every day. I can understand why you are hesitant or scared to take prednisone. " Low doses taken short term ( by mouth) rarely cause serious side effects.
746512 tn?1388807580 Might look into other long-acting beta agonists. Serevent is the LABA that is in Advair (Formoterol is available as Foradil. Salmeterol is the LABA in Advair). It's basically Flovent and Serevent in one Discus or inhaler. Symbicort is another combination steroid/LABA (Pulmicort + Formoterol). I don't know if any combination of those options would be better from a price perspective. Haven't heard of muscle cramps or menstrual effects with Pulmicort.
746512 tn?1388807580 I was wondering if it is the humidity that is bugging my asthma? What can I do about it. My peak flow readings have also dropped from around 390-400 down to 360 for the last couple of days. I don't want to take my rescue inhaler all the time because it gives me wicked muscle cramps and makes me loopy and really tired. I also take 400umg of pulmicort twice a day. Is there anything I should do; call my doctor, up my pulmicort dose or just wait the weather out? Thanks for the input.
Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
Avatar n tn He has had a rough year, been on and off of oxygen, used pulmicort, singular, xeopenex, albuteral, and way too many oral steroids. The pulmicort is a steroid but has less side effects then the oral steroids because it goes directly to the lungs instead of all the organs. Pulmicort is a preventative and should be used before an asthma attack.
Avatar f tn what is the best natural way to treat the nasal polyp..my doctor said it is grade 2 polyps. I hate surgical operation a side from too expensive i think i cannot permit any body to touch any part of my body specially the surgery they suggest it to me.
Avatar n tn Hi, my GP has changed my meds today from seravent, becotide and salbutamol to Symbicort turbohaler. I have never used a turbohaler before and am finding it really hard to "suck" the drug into me! I have read the instructions and followed them to the letter but it just seems really difficult to suck through. Is this normal? or could the turbohaler be faulty? Also does it matter if i hear 2 clicks when loading? Please help as really need it to work!
