premarin

Avatar f tn s and had surgery along with chemo and radiation - she is now cancer free. Should this be a major concern for me if I continue to take the Prempro? Also, are ovarian cysts related to ovarian cancer? I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts while in my 20’s which went away on their own with no treatment.
Avatar f tn s risk for developing breast cancer. If it is prescribed at all it is at the lowest dose possible and for the shortest time that is absolutely necessary. Most Physicians prefer NOT to prescribe it at all. Regards .....
Avatar n tn My mom, who is now age 67, was on prempro for over 20 yrs. She had a hysterectomy at age 32 and therefore experienced menopause medically. She was not put on hormones at that time but later her ob/gyn started her on prempro. Her ob/gyn retired 5 yrs ago and the new doctor she began seeing is quite a bit younger. He flipped when he found out my mom had been on prempro that long. He told her in his opinion it was totally unnecessary and took her off of it.
Avatar n tn After 2 days of taking Prempro I decided not for me. I think I need Progesterone and would like to know if others use the cream and what brand. Or any advice appreciated. Thank- you.
Avatar f tn After calling my doctor, she recomended going back on the Prempro and doing a very gradual taper which would take 42 weeks. This is the only treatment she will recommend for me. I really do not want to go back on the Prempro. My question - are there any other alternative drugs or treatments, other than estrogen, to help with the side effects of stopping the Prempro. Thank you for taking my question and for any help.
Avatar f tn I was just given a prescription for Vagifem and I have my Uterus. I'm using it because I feel like my skin is tearing during sex. It's very painful. I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. The drug has so many side effects that I'm somewhat worred about taking it. It's one thing that I could harm myself, but what about my spouse?
Avatar n tn So, yes, I would guess you could have mood swings due to menopause any time after. I am 59 and have been on Prempro for about 7 years and just went off them and my hot flashes now are worse than ever! I have severe insomnia (I take sleeping pills every night and sometimes they don't help!) I have been sleeping with the windows open even when it's getting down into the 30s and 40s at night and that helps a lot.
Avatar f tn Just wanting to know what I might encounter. Like you say, everyone is different. Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. As always, thanks for your support. Best wishes.
237053 tn?1258828426 Then came the big Prempro crash and controversy. I stayed on it anyway for several more years without insidence then the pedulum swung back and some people have resumed its use again. The main point to me is I am pretty sure hormones have some HUGE part in MS and I so urge the drug companies to try to find out just what part they play! As pregnancy shows, something is being missed!
Avatar f tn have one next month none that went on until may had a 7day period then in june it hit I started what was a 23 day period very heavy at times stoped for 5 days then started again. went back to my ob-gyn who told me it was menopause. hormone imbalance put me on prempro I am still bleeding not as heavy been taking it for almost a month he told me it could take up to 3 months to even out in the mean time I think im going crazy cry one minute ok the next along with other issues.
Avatar f tn I first had a saliva test to see what I needed and then a pharmacy in my area compounded what I needed. I use an estrogen patch, testosterone and progestorone cream. I first read Suzanne Summers book on bioidentical hormones. It was very helpful.
Avatar f tn 40 is a little young to start Menopause, but not unheard of, it can happen. I started @ 49, for 1 year, I would bleed for 7 weeks, then it stop, started, did that for a year. I have not had a period for 2 yrs now. I started gaining weight a little weight in my mid section, I also got very depressed. I'm not a depressed type, always happy, not moody. I had to go on Prempro, it took 2 weeks, I was better.
Avatar n tn It could be the prempro. Ask your doctor about going off of it for a few month and see if that helps. I heard that estrogen can cause congestion along with other medications. I too have non allergic rhinitis but mine is considered Vasomotor rhinitis.k I had this for 6 yrs. but I do not take any medication, just nasal steroid sprays and nasal rinses and it does not do anything. I even had sinus surgery - total ethmoidectomy, opening the ostia of the maxillary sinuses and partial turbinectomy.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......

Avatar n tn In the past few months my blood pressure has been really crazy. The diastolic is always over 100 and my doctor has changed my medication now 3 times. Is there possibly an interaction between the Hoodia I'm taking to lose weight and the blood pressure?
754647 tn?1233784665 Called him again today and he takes me off prevera and puts me on prempro. I dont understand why he is putting me on all this hormone medication. I am afraid it will afect me getting pregnat or worse. Has anyone been through this and will it harm me.
Avatar n tn I take wellbutrin, prempro and maxide. Will the synthroid be okay to take with these and how long until I feel like myself again. I had the surgery a week ago...
798555 tn?1292787551 While this new FDA stance against neutral bases....they use a hypoallergenic cream such as what is used as the base for every over-the-counter cream in America, or lactose, which is component of MILK for crissakes....it means that anybody with an allergy or a sensitivity to an ingredient in a manufactured drug is up a creek, at least if they are on Medicare.
Avatar f tn Can anyone tell me what this means? I understand that my samples shows ADH and LCIS. What are the other things? What are they looking for in the excision biopsy? Thank you to all of you. You have made this stressful time bearable.
