Avatar m tn The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
Avatar n tn Zaditor is the leading OTC brand in USA. Patanol is the oldest formulation of prescription olopatadine and there are newer formulations pataday and Pazeo. They require prescription.
Avatar f tn I read the other threads regarding "twitching" in an eye and that is what originally led me to this site. I am under a lot of stress (caring for my 88-year old mother, my husband has had two open-heart surgeries and my little dog is terminally ill) and I am not sleeping well (never have been a sound sleeper). Approximately six years ago I was diagnosed with Posterior Vitreous Detachment in both eyes and the "symptoms" nearly make me crazy!!
Avatar n tn The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.
Avatar n tn My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Avatar m tn My eyes constantly have redness in them, mostly the outsides & the left one is more red than the right. How do I get rid of the redness in my eyes (without powerful medication). I'm already using an anti-allergy drop (Zaditor) which doesn't help THAT much. I've used Patanol before too. How can I get rid of the redness?
Avatar m tn He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. He uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash, in addition to Clearasil pads.
Avatar n tn thanks for commenting back they are really good now not bllodshot and a little runny and not to bad today
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to use Patanol and Xiloial together. But she said İ should use one of them first, then apply the other. Cuz one of them is gel or whatever. But now i cant remember which one she said that İ should use first. Can you please help me?
Avatar m tn Hi Doctor, I am still not sure what it is called but the laser procedure was to put holes in my iris.Sorry I used the wrong term before .My eyes have been tested and only thing recommended was a simple reading glasses of +.50 .I will check with doctor again and will certainly take this printout with me.
Avatar n tn I've had severe red eyes for almost 2 years and today was diagnosed with Superior Limbic Keratoconjunctivitis. This was the first time I'd consulted a doctor/opthamologist in that regard. The opthamologist prescribed a course of Maxidex to be taken every 2 hours as well as Patanol, which is to be taken twice a day.
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar m tn Hello, It looks like you are allergic to dust and dust mites which is responsible for causing air borne allergies as well swelling and congestion of the eyes.Yes dust can cause such symptoms in eyes. For now you can take some over the counter antihistaminic like as Cetirizine(zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms.
Avatar n tn The culture will likely come back negative due to being on antibiotics for so long. My guess is that you may have a chronic lid problem that is causing eye irritation. Possible blepharitis or lid margin disease. It is ok to culture now - probably will be no growth or possible some type of resistant bacteria. You may need more attention directed to the eyelids as the source of the problem.
Avatar f tn I will also do the drops. I have a prescription for patanol eye drops that I use during the fall hayfever season. It is odd though my eyes are Never this bad during hayfever season!
