Avatar f tn I just figured out I have fiber myalgia which included and definitely not limited to neurological pain, I just found a doctor who actually takes my insurance and who believes in fiber myalgia!
Avatar m tn I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. I feel guilty that I am taking more tablets and my health condition is improved now. so I planned to reduce my tablet dosage. so I look over this- i.e.
Avatar f tn Do people really take these to get high??? What kind of an affect could possibly come from this???
Avatar m tn What are your experiences with the following drugs? I want to start with the drug that I have the best chance of maintaining my intellect, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and personalty.
222267 tn?1253302210 I have been off Lithium for about 3 weeks? Time is hard to tell for me these days. Right this second I feel o.k. I think it's because I need to take another dose. I think I am going to hold off on the medication and wait till Monday and talk to my Pdoc about the side effects. I have only taken two days worth so I don't think it should be a problem. Round and round in circles I tell ya. Thanks for the advice. I always appreciate it.
Avatar n tn I am not sure what the comp levels are but I am aware of what the CBC and oxcarbazepine are for. If it were lukemia wouldn't the WBC be high? I have joint problems my self and have been tested for lupus and RA, they were negative. So I don't think it would be that. Due to the fact it is mainly genetic. I did notice that when the lab drew his blood, it took about 20 minutes for the puncture to stop bleeding. Is that abnormal? When I took him to his dr.
Avatar m tn i am confused now because this is rather sudden and my son is used to the valparin now and has no side effects as such. the doctor says that this is for better seizure control since eeg is abnormal but the eeg has been abnormal for the past 8 years then why now? i am all confused and when i told the doctor i will change medication only during vacation time so that i can moniter him.
1108262 tn?1273179266 The Trileptal also began causing a lowering of my blood sodium levels (hyponatremia), a rare side effect for the medication, but I used salt pills to offset this and had to- guess what?- go for regular blood tests. And then depression and anxiety worsened over time. I also began to have these weird twitches and movements I couldn't control, one so badly I ended up in an emergency room with a neurologist questioning if the Trileptal was causing the problem.
Avatar m tn Have not convinced my neurologist to let me switch meds. What success have people had using Oxcarbazepine for TN, and does it also cause ED? I don't want to use either carbamezapine or gabapentine if possible.
Avatar f tn You really have to speak to your psychiatrist and doctor directly about medication interactions especially with anything that is as strong a medication as Suboxone. This is what I could find as per the interaction between Suboxone and Trileptal but all this should be discussed with your psychiatrist who could (and should be doing) a search on the physician's only database all doctors have access to.
5544493 tn?1369608788 Well, as thatquietgirl said, it really depends on the individual. Part of it also depends on whether you're BP I or II, and whether your main problems are depression, mania, or a lot of both, and whether you have psychosis in the mix. Lamotrigine and carbamazepine are generics, for the record, and Abilify and Seroquel are still under patent and so there aren't any generics yet.
Avatar n tn Have to say after years without it I am totally unprepared for how bad it is. Now on tramadol for the pain and will check options for actual treatment but really just want a quick fix!
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar m tn Within the last two months, I have been experiencing burning and pain in my right foot (including toes). I am taking oxcarbazepine, is this a side affect or does it mean I need to increase the dose.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure about China's policy on mental illness but you could google "Mental Disability Rights International". There are unfortunately not natural forms of medications as they are made from chemicals. Lithium is not from a plant. It is a naturally occuring salt. Lithium Orotate is highly unsafe and should not be taken. There have be fatalities from it. It would be best to remain on your medications and find out how you could enter that country safely.
Avatar f tn I take Carbamazepine for ATN and have a new, rare reoccurring rash on my legs. My Dr. says they are not related, but when I researched it there were a few articles that indicated Carbamazepine could cause the rash.
Avatar f tn Carbamazepine is the generic name for tegretol with dose 600-1600mg. This is one of 3 most classical drugs for bipolarity used especially in Britain (lithium, tegretol, depakote) and have become standard for half a century. In the USA they don't use it often because of its interactions with other drugs. They substitute it for oxcarbazepine (trileptal) 1200-2400mg. The latrter has less interactivity with other drugs.
Avatar f tn During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.
Avatar f tn Oxcarbazepine, Vraylar, Lithium I have been dealing with major fatigue and serious issues with my memory this year that have not resolved. I am NEGATIVE for all hepatitis. Last brain MRI was normal ~1 year ago. CRP is normal. Ammonia is normal. Thyroid is normal. Lithium levels are normal. Labs are as follows and ONLY ABNORMAL VALUES are reported here. Drawn yesterday: (HIGH)ALT 69, (LOW)BUN 8, (HIGH)Chloride 109, (LOW)Anion gap 5.
Avatar m tn Since I am not sure what the branded names are for these in India, here are the generic names for the most common anti-epileptics for seizures of the gelastic type: carbamazepine, clobazam, lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine and topiramate. These medications rarely stop the seizures completely but reduce the frequency and severity of them. I hope this helps, my prayers are with you and your son.
