Avatar m tn I was given 4 types of drugs YEARS AGO in 2007 Olanzapine,Risperidone,Depixol,Trihexyphenidyl, i suspect it is the Olanzapine that has caused an internal burning gastric sensation below my navel area and around crotch area and wondered if you know of any drug, vitamins, herbs to reverse the damage caused and if you know what the problem could be?
6452367 tn?1430944592 That is why I am a big believer in post withdrawal long term Naltrexone therapy. This is what we practice in our clinic. Our goal is initiation of long-term Naltrexone therapy, which will guard you from physical cravings and enable you to participate in viable talk therapy which can actually produce result without the constant pull of opiates.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was on olanzapine my dose was anywhere between 5mg and 12.5mg. I felt a lot better on seroquel after the transition period. I find I am not as drowsy and my appetite isn't as strong, meaning that I am not gaining as much weight. Olanzapine is good for crisis but day to day I find seroquel suits me better, hooe it goes well for you too!
Avatar m tn I get a stinging pain on top of my head on right hand side about tree inches from my forhead. It feels like a blister under the skin. I have had an MRI scan and have a small Mengioma but that is on the other side. There was nothing to explain the stinging. I read elsewhere on this site that Clanzpine 2.5 ml should work for it but it didn't say what the complaint was. Any idea?
Avatar f tn I feel like I have a positive mental state for the first time in a long but now my body is in need of healing and I dont know what I can do to get back to my old healthy self.
Avatar f tn Before I was on olanzapine I couldnt sleep till 4am after going to bed at 11pm and having my eyes closed for all that time whilst trying to sleep, the problem was was that my mind was racing, and couldnt turn off. Now I am working night shifts and it has really caused problems with my bi-polar and sleeping, its as if my tablets no longer work, so I shall be going onto a higher dosage maybe. But yes, I do get very tired from olanzapine!
Avatar n tn Well, it’s natural for you to feel apprehensive as being shifted to a new drug and its dose is being reduced. Both Olanzapine and Resperidone are atypical antipsychotics. So, basically, you will be taking the same class of antipsychotics. Resperidone is however a very potent antipsychotic. The response to treatment has been found to be more stable with Resperidone, so that’s a plus point with this drug.
Avatar f tn I have been on olanzapine for 15 years and has helped me greatly with anxiety, and other mental health conditions. I am 35 years old and have over the past 7 weeks experienced extreme pain in my feet and ankles. I had also over the past 6 months experienced tingling in the feet and legs which I believe is a side effect of long term use off olanzapine. I have been very concerned over the servere pain in my feet as it is all over the foot and can be painful to walk on.
Avatar f tn Yes there could be two concerns one of which might be what the Olanzapine is treating and the other could be the potential of it causing cognitive confusion and other related side effects. There could be other concerns as well but only your psychiatrist would understand the specifics but it would be worth discussing with them so they can keep track of whats going on and see how to appropriate adjust your medication within their clinical discretion.
Avatar n tn Will this medicine keep making me put on weight on and on or is there any way I can curb this with diet and exercise. I have tried other drugs but I find this the best, except for the weight gain. What is the long term effect of this? Also I take Desval along with Olanzapine 0.5 mg. Is this alright for my Bipolar disorder or should I add in an antidepressant. If yes, then which one? Coz Mood stabilizers I guess curb the thinking power, so will the anti depressant boost my thinking ability.
5790942 tn?1374334321 It is an anti-psychotic drug that is usually used for people suffering from schizophrenia and other psychological disorders. It's not addictive per se, but it is like most psych drugs and once our bodies become used to taking it, we must wean ourselves off of it. I suppose that there could be an abuse potential there. We are addicts and can find a way to abuse just about anything.
603015 tn?1329862973 It would probably be best to get an appointment with your pdoc sooner; not sleeping is a major trigger for BP relapse. In fact, all of the withdrawal issues from any medications can kick the mood swings back in.
Avatar f tn My osteoarthritis is suddenly much more painful just after my colonoscopy June 3. I’m wondering if the Versed and Fentanyl that were used could be the cause? If so, what measures can I take? Can’t take NSAIDS. I take Tylenol 8 hr once a day. Drink cherry juice, exercise on a bike and drink lots of water. I use magnesium chloride pain cream too. I’m 74. I take propranolol 10mg 2X a day & olanzapine 2.5 once a day. I have also been under Extreme financial stress.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar f tn There are movements in my face eyes and lips too but they are minor compared to my body. I have searched google for hrs and there is so little info. What can i do to prevent it from getting worse asap. Also i may need to go back on seroquel..ive been off for 6 months but being off it is really messed me up mentally. I dont think seroquel was the culprit. I never had any spasms on it. It was the olanzapine and it took only one dose. Before that i also tried risperidone for a month so who knows.
Avatar f tn 5mg and Buproprion XL 300mg... After a couple months and not much change my doctor adds in Olanzapine 5mg, problem is I've been doing a bit of research online and am now too nervous to take the Olanzapine(Zyprexa) with the Clonazepam(Klonopin). Every thing I've seen has basically said that these two can interact very badly causing shallow breathing, loss of consciousness, etc. It would be much appreciated if I could get some feedback from anyone who has taken the two together.
Avatar m tn Last night I took my first olanzapine pill(5mg), for panic attacks and apparently I did some weird things in my sleep. My girlfriend said my legs were twitching, and sounded like I was choking when I was snoring. It only happened last night, and not this morning when I was sleeping. I feel normal today, just a little dizzy(I slept 15 hours). Is this normal?? Thanks Also, I can't stop sleeping!
698408 tn?1256958348 I actually had enough focus to clean my bathroom and organize a bit, which is awesome. What is short term and what is longer term where you live?
