Common Questions and Answers about What is nasonex good for

nasonex

Avatar f tn What antihistamines have you used? It wasn't an antihistamine with a decongestant or Benadryl was it? Singulair can be used for Allergic Rhinitis like you have, however, this is usually prescribed for someone with Asthma issues secondary to Allergic Rhinitis. What nasal steroid are you using? Most of them can be used long term.
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
Avatar m tn s what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun. Very clever, taking advantage of peoples' medical conditions.
Avatar n tn The reason I take Nasonex is that well, from what the doctor told me, my problem is due to that fact that at one point, oxygen did not flow properly around my temporal area and around my ears and it left me with quite a discomforting aftereffect, a feeling of pressure around these area as well as tinnitus.
538745 tn?1213755988 How are you? Do you have congested nose? How long have you been experiencing this? Tinnitus is a sensation of noise, as a ringing or roaring, a symptom that can be caused by a number of medical conditions. Tinnitus may be the result of age-related hearing loss or ear injury, or it may be an indication of a disease of your circulatory system. Many medications have been tried to relieve tinnitus with varying degrees of success. Treatment consists mostly of managing the problem.
216239 tn?1233257361 I had a cold a couple months ago and the doctor prescribed nasonex (nasal spray)...it's also good for allergies, really helped with the congestion..
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
531684 tn?1216745984 I have to admit It was scary. Deep down, I think it is most likely a symptom of my using Nasonex. The reason I feel this way is because I typically wake up in the morning with a nose caked in dry blood and sometimes blow it out when I'm blowing my nose. Is this a typical symptom? Should I stop using Nasonex? The reason I'm asking is to feel secure, I will certainly see a Doc, but I don't want to worry all day if this is normal.
Avatar n tn Wouldn't think it would be withdrawals. He might have something else going on???
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!

Avatar n tn I also do not use it everyday, I don't need too, I use it occasionally.
Avatar n tn But my question is should I go back to taking the nasonex? Was it a good thing that the nasonex made it louder because maybe it was just cleaning my ear out from the fluid, since it stopped ringing completely later that night which it hasnt done all week. But I dont know because it was a lot more irritating that night then ever! When I got out of the hot shower. I'm starting to think maybe the hot shower could be whats really irritating it more.
Avatar n tn My cardiologist had told me to do a "trial & error" to see. I think Nasonex only has antihistamine in it, which is good. There are some with decongestant and I know that can mess things up. I'm doing allergy shots once I am feeling better.
538745 tn?1213755988 I been having this noise in my ear..sounds like I'm holding a shell up to my ear and the ocean is there ..Plus I get echos or hear twice noise when people talking or the tv..the higher the pitch the louder it is in my left ear..I went to doc here and was told my ear was clean not red no wax etc..so he said doesn't know what it is for now..having me take nasonex a day for two week..no cold here not even a sinus headache..
Avatar f tn what is the best natural way to treat the nasal polyp..my doctor said it is grade 2 polyps. I hate surgical operation a side from too expensive i think i cannot permit any body to touch any part of my body specially the surgery they suggest it to me.
Avatar f tn While in India a pulmonologist at a good hospital diagnosed me with allergies and asthma (spiro something test before and after a med). I suddenly had developed wheezing and coughing after exposure to some toxic paint plus for a couple of years when I climb stairs I am short of breath. He said to take meds for a month at one dose and for another month at a half dose and to thereafter see another pulmonologist.
Avatar m tn Doctors blame everything on acid reflux, but if it were that you would be feeling heartburn and the like, not just this difficulty swallowing. Reflux is a digestive disorder, and the medication for it is not for long-term use unless absolutely necessary because it suppresses the stomach's production of acid and it must produce it in order to digest protein and minerals.
Avatar n tn However in your son’s case the symptoms are far apart, except for the rash and fever. These are also signs of meningitis, but that is a more serious condition and will not linger for so long without serious repercussions. Diabetes should definitely be looked into. Rocky Mountain spotted fever is another possibility. Refractive errors of the eye should also be looked into. Fungal infections too should be investigated. Hope this helps. Do discuss these possibilities with your son’s pediatrician.
Avatar m tn The use of glucocorticoids (the medication is NASONEX, to the nose) can make someone immunocompromised? I used Nasonex for one month. I stopped using today, and I used the normal dose. I'll do a HIV test, so I need to know this question. Thank you guys!
Avatar f tn Very interesting. I would def go with what your EP said over your primary only because he knows the skips more intimately. Thanks for sharing!
Avatar f tn HI, Advair is used for patients with asthma or COPD which it does not sound like you have. You also need a prescription for it, so I don't think it is a good idea to take it. Nasonex is prescribed for nasal symptoms related to seasonal allergies. I don't think that this will help you either. I think you should ask your doctor about the persistent cough (perhaps it is allergy related) and see what he/she suggests. Good luck.
Avatar n tn m like all the people who are afflicted with this and are mystified as to what it is and why it happens. I suffer from this no matter what, even after drinking water I will feel a sudden presence of mucous and the uncontrollable need to cough and spit...then there I am glued to the bathroom sink....it's a nightmare. One of the writers suggested we all write to Dr. Oz and ask for his help....
Avatar f tn I've been having issues with my ears and my sinuses. This has been bothering me since April. In May, I went to the doctor - he said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and he thought it was being caused by a sinus infection. He prescribed antibiotics (Z-Pak) and Nasonex. At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth.
