Avatar m tn I used mometasone furoate (a topical steroid cream) last night (for the first and ONLY time) on the base of my penis due to a minor skin allergy. Additionally, my wife and I are currently trying to conceive. When my dermatologist gave me the prescription for the mometasone furoate she knew I was trying to conceive and said it was OK to use.

Avatar n tn This sounds like irritation, for which mometasone, a mild steroid, is a good treatment. 5 days is about right. Redness can last for a couple of weeks after irritation goes away. You should ignore it. If the burning returns, try the mometasone again for a couple of days. Stay in touch with your doctor for further advice. No need for another opinion--it sounds as though you got the right one the first time around. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn I have never really paid to much attention because it never hurt, burn, hitch, nothing. what i see is redness and some red spots which come out if i get an erection. i then decided to go to see a doctor few months ago. He prescribed first NYSTATIN AND TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE which i used for 2 weeks without any result, then he prescribed MOMETASONE FUROATE 0.1% which made the situation worse. i then decided to visit a dermatologist which he prescribed HYDROCORTISONE CREAM 2.
Avatar f tn I must inform you about the fact that I have been regularly using Melacare for the past 3 years and I read from few articles on the net that , prolonged application of mometasone creams can lead to skin atrophy since memetasone is a steroid. Now my question what can I apply to reverse this skin atrophy condition or will this actually self-heal the natural way ? would be very grateful to you if you would let me know at the earliest possible time. Thank you.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......

5675247 tn?1372384225 It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Now if i even touch a baby wipe or adult wipe with my hand, i get a poison ivy-like rash, which is strange because i used both for years with no issues. Apparently, you can develop an allergy to anything at any time. So now I just use Kleenex Hand Towels and water when toilet paper is not enough, and i fired my dermatologist.
Avatar m tn Greetings, I've recently went to a doctor because of a possible hemorrhoid problem. The skin around the anus was also red. He prescripted me a meconazole nitrate 2%-hydrocortizone 1% cream for the rash but I don't see it getting better! And do believe me this is much more annoying than the hemorrhoids themselves as I cannot freely move, go to the toilet or even touch it! The whole area is red with a pale red line in the middle of it!
Avatar f tn Thanks for Your answer! My problems started in 2016 november. I began using Mometasone (Elocon 0.1%) intermittently for 1 year, 'cos there was two, 2-3 mm sized red patch on my glans. A half of a year later suddenly the half area of my glans became red (in 2017 autumn). Then I continously used Elocon for more half of a year, six days per months. Summa 40..50 days i think.
Avatar f tn The cream is called mometasone furoate cream. It is prescribed to me. Hope this helps for anyone that comes across this post!!
Avatar n tn Having been on Advair for one year, I now have "frogs" in throat which causes me - a singer - to lose my voice when singing low notes. The Advair was discontinued and I am now on Symbicort which, I am afraid, is causing the same problem. Is there a simple "home remedy" for this problem? Thank you.

6191629 tn?1379509587 What are the health implications for a 78 year man with chronic seborrheic dermatitis on his face, a large patch on his hip and scattered lesions on his leg with chronic fungal infections of his toes and one finger nail. The lesions are resistant to terbanifine and all topical anti-fungals. He has had repeated courses of antibiotics for a non diabetic neuropathic ulcer on his big toe now amputated.
Avatar n tn I had some dry skin patches problem for same I was taking the treatment. My Dr prescribed me to use Mometasone Furoate cream for dry patches on my skin. But while travelling in a flight I felt my whole face was drying up severly so I applied it on my face around 5-6 time (after applying my moisturizer first ) on same day. Beside that I ate very-very spice food on that day. It was so much spicy that it brought blood in my nasals.
