Common Questions and Answers about What is micardis used for

micardis

Avatar m tn since my release I have had a rapid pulse between 105 and 125, swelling in my lower legs, and pain both in the calf and front which is aggravated by walking or climbing stairs. Sitting there is no pain at all. What is causing this? I take several BP medicines as well as cholesterol meds. Micardis, plavix, a diuretic amlodipine.
Avatar f tn It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. Micardis is pregnancy category C (during first trimester) and D (during 2nd and 3rd trimester) and it enters breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. I recommend you talk to your doctor about your situation before making any changes.
Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.
Avatar f tn I did speak to my doctor and my medication has been changed to one that is less strong I am taking Micardis 4mg. You are right my water intake could be better I am making it a priority to have a bottle of water with me all the time.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
1689583 tn?1387752394 It depends on what medication you're taking. I take diltiazem, although I take it for esophageal spasm. I don't have high blood pressure. I had to reduce the dose while in a study for a similar medication (PI). PIs can increase the amount of blood pressure medication in you if you take a calcium channel blocker like diltiazem.
Avatar m tn I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days. So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?
Avatar f tn My heartrate now is in the 40-60s range which to me is way better than it was before the bb. I am on several Meds for hypertension but bp is very labile. It used to be very high and suddenly drop causing syncope. Now it mostly stays 100/60-110/60 range although shoots, way up at Dr. They are actually talking about taking me off the micardis.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your replies. It is appreciated and will check with my Dr. again.
Avatar m tn Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect? Also should I continue to take my BP meds even on the days I'm sober and when my BP is normal?
1204020 tn?1493698890 It is something you do not want to experience. The blood pressure can stay up for days. Of course a hospitalization is involved. The symptoms are WAY MORE than just a headache and some dizziness. After rounds of IV and oral medications one better hope it comes down and stablizes.
Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me if a beta blocker should be used for a harmless PVC. I had quite a few last summer, then they changed by blood pressure meds and they seems to go away. I'd feel one from time to time but not many. Then, my doctor tried to add a diueretic along with my Micardis and the PVS came back to be noticable again. I've done the 3 week holter monitor test and I was diagnosed with harmless PVCs last summer.
404682 tn?1324579818 Hello, My name is Pat and I was recently diagnosed with High BP which has me a bit confused. I had 4 high reading at 3 times but the rest of the time it stayed within the 120s low 130s. The issue is that I'll go along fine and then wham my blood pressure will spike out of nowhere to 170/102 so my dr decided to start me on meds. I started taking norvasc 2.5 mgs at night because my BP is really high when I wake up.
Avatar f tn The same goes for several other medications in fact, including Niacin which is commonly used for high cholesterol. The combination of medications you described is quite commonly used as some of the first agents for treatment of high blood pressure, even in a population of those with diabetes or prone to diabetes. Control of your blood pressure is of course extremely important. Please discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Avatar f tn I have been having tachycardia attacks since I was in my 30's, I am 80 now and I would just rest for a few minutes until they were over. Now I still have them and one that happened 4 years ago wouldn't stop. I wound up in the hospital where the emergency doctor had trouble stopping it but finally did. I stayed there a week having many tests and they found I have a form of leukemia. Chronic myelogenous leukemia.
Avatar m tn In almost a year from now, will I be able to consume enough alcohol to get drunk and attend lots of parties (but try to minimize it a bit)? Thanks for all answers and experiences before hand.
Avatar m tn Hi, i wanna ask a question related to heart disease. My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar f tn She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
Avatar m tn Because you are playing "what if". We could be here for hours comeing up with "what if". If a condom is reused it is not easy to get on, it would be a struggle.
