micardis

Avatar n tn m 43 and my pressure generally ran around 185 over 120 (range). My doctor put me on a medicine called Micardis HCT which is a combination medication with the common diuretic hydrochlorothiazide and the drug telmisartan. This is the first time I have been on blood pressure medicine, and the drug has worked very well in terms of my blood pressure itself. I take my pressure at home with an electric blood pressure monitor and I now average about 130 over 72 to 75.
Avatar m tn since my release I have had a rapid pulse between 105 and 125, swelling in my lower legs, and pain both in the calf and front which is aggravated by walking or climbing stairs. Sitting there is no pain at all. What is causing this? I take several BP medicines as well as cholesterol meds. Micardis, plavix, a diuretic amlodipine.
Avatar f tn It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. Micardis is pregnancy category C (during first trimester) and D (during 2nd and 3rd trimester) and it enters breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. I recommend you talk to your doctor about your situation before making any changes.
1260907 tn?1269748318 I have gained a lot of body fat, I am currently on Micardis HCT for BP, Lortab for back pain post surgery, Lexapro, and of course the ambien to help me get to sleep. Dont get me wrong I couldnt stay up at night but I worked 3rd shift for 3 years till 10 months ago so night time is hard for me to fall asleep, when I do sleep it is not good sleep so I assume that is why I wanna sleep all the time. Just in general what is the chances of me having an underactive thyroid?

Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.

Avatar n tn I am a 46 yr white female who had blood test levels that were slightly low in RBC and HCT. I had the labs repeated again 6 mths later and not only are the RBC and HCT low, now the CA is low. The levels are as follows (RBC 3.71, HCT 34.7 and CA 8.4). Should I be concerned and have my primary care physician refer me to an oncologist for cancer?
Avatar f tn I did speak to my doctor and my medication has been changed to one that is less strong I am taking Micardis 4mg. You are right my water intake could be better I am making it a priority to have a bottle of water with me all the time.

Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, but have researched a lot. Here is my inturpretation on your results. A positive ANA with homogeneous pattern can indicate lupus, but not everyone with an elevated ANA will have it. From what I've read - a high Titer w/homogeneous pattern indicates lupus, a low titer other rhuehmatic diseases, but the labs are used in correlation with other tests and a physical exam to reach a diagnosis. The labs alone only give your doctor a direction to look/test further.
1689583 tn?1387752394 It depends on what medication you're taking. I take diltiazem, although I take it for esophageal spasm. I don't have high blood pressure. I had to reduce the dose while in a study for a similar medication (PI). PIs can increase the amount of blood pressure medication in you if you take a calcium channel blocker like diltiazem.
Avatar m tn Here is what drugs.
Avatar n tn ve been using anti-hypertensives for ten years now starting with Lotensen and then switching to Diovan HCT then to hydroclorothyazide for a year or two then back to Diovan HCT. I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc.
Avatar f tn RBC is 5.25. HGB is 15.4 and HCT is 47.0. Erythropoietin level is 4. WBC is 9.7. I am concerned about primary or secondary "polycythemia". All my CT scans, ultrasounds and MRI tests have come back negative. Does anyone out there have polycythemia? Is there anything I should be doing? At what level do they start removing blood to reduce the risk of clots/stroke, etc.? Is 17 high enough for that? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn I am bumping your post up. Here is what I found on the possible side effects of Diovan HCT: You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or tiredness as your body adjusts to the medication. You may also experience diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or cough. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
