micardis

Avatar m tn since my release I have had a rapid pulse between 105 and 125, swelling in my lower legs, and pain both in the calf and front which is aggravated by walking or climbing stairs. Sitting there is no pain at all. What is causing this? I take several BP medicines as well as cholesterol meds. Micardis, plavix, a diuretic amlodipine.
Avatar f tn It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. Micardis is pregnancy category C (during first trimester) and D (during 2nd and 3rd trimester) and it enters breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. I recommend you talk to your doctor about your situation before making any changes.
1689583 tn?1387752394 It depends on what medication you're taking. I take diltiazem, although I take it for esophageal spasm. I don't have high blood pressure. I had to reduce the dose while in a study for a similar medication (PI). PIs can increase the amount of blood pressure medication in you if you take a calcium channel blocker like diltiazem.
Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.
Avatar m tn I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days. So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your replies. It is appreciated and will check with my Dr. again.
Avatar m tn Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect? Also should I continue to take my BP meds even on the days I'm sober and when my BP is normal?
Avatar f tn I did speak to my doctor and my medication has been changed to one that is less strong I am taking Micardis 4mg. You are right my water intake could be better I am making it a priority to have a bottle of water with me all the time.
Avatar f tn I have been having tachycardia attacks since I was in my 30's, I am 80 now and I would just rest for a few minutes until they were over. Now I still have them and one that happened 4 years ago wouldn't stop. I wound up in the hospital where the emergency doctor had trouble stopping it but finally did. I stayed there a week having many tests and they found I have a form of leukemia. Chronic myelogenous leukemia.
Avatar m tn In almost a year from now, will I be able to consume enough alcohol to get drunk and attend lots of parties (but try to minimize it a bit)? Thanks for all answers and experiences before hand.
Avatar m tn Hi, i wanna ask a question related to heart disease. My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar f tn She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
95361 tn?1219870284 I have recently changed from Metformin 100 mg x 2, to Coreg 25 mf x 2, and I also take Adalat 60mg, Lisinopril 20 mg and Micardis 80mg. I take Metformin 850 x 3, Januvia 100mg (only for about the last two weeks) and just started on Avandia 4 mg for diabetes. My other meds are for thyroid, GERD, potassium, generalized dystonia (levodopa). Is this something I should be concerned about? I see my doctor in a week and a half, but do I need to contact her before then if this happens again?
1204020 tn?1493698890 It is something you do not want to experience. The blood pressure can stay up for days. Of course a hospitalization is involved. The symptoms are WAY MORE than just a headache and some dizziness. After rounds of IV and oral medications one better hope it comes down and stablizes.
280692 tn?1277105942 An ECG is not a very good source for an assessment of size of chambers or blood flow dynamics. It is useful to determine any heart rhythm abnomalities, other than that it requires further evidence, supporting symptoms, etc. Heart enlargement can have causes that don't respond very well to treatment; it depends on the underlying cause whether or not the heart can return to normal size.
Avatar f tn Hello, my names is Linda.. I have been taking buspirone 15mg for three months now for anxiety and panic attacks. I have done wonderful on it except still have a little panic at times.. My Dr. (nurse practitioner) gave me Citalopram 20-mg to take with the buspirone and advised me to break it in half for the first week and then start on the whole 20-mg second week.. I was wondering if the two combines would hurt me..
1251922 tn?1269981784 I'm a small-sized 72-year old female. I have been on Micardis 20mg for 2 1/2 months. for the 1st 3-4 week it elevated my BP instead of lowering it. Fortunately, in the 5th week I saw the results (mean day reading:115/75). And the morning surges were gone! But in 2 weeks,i experienced a sudden spike of 148/89. It took a couple of days to return to normal. However, in another 2 weeks there was another spike. And another couple of days to return to normal. Please explain why this happened.
Avatar f tn moringa (malunggay), serpetina, tumeric, guaybano. He is also taking losartan, selerimin, allupurinol, junuvia, micardis, and diamicron. Looking for a fast response to this I want to know what could be causing a huge shoot in his triglycerides and what can be done. Really scared my dad may have CHD.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the response, I am hoping it is medication side effect, as my doctors, including my internist, are calling my symptoms a "mystery". My heart is improving, and I am now able to ascertain that the pain is not coming from my heart. The only procedure I have not yet had is an endoscopy, which is next. I have increased dexilant to twice a day. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn My heartrate now is in the 40-60s range which to me is way better than it was before the bb. I am on several Meds for hypertension but bp is very labile. It used to be very high and suddenly drop causing syncope. Now it mostly stays 100/60-110/60 range although shoots, way up at Dr. They are actually talking about taking me off the micardis.
1351623 tn?1285916492 Can anyone please help me about this cause everytime I go to the doctor, all my blood tests are normal... I have been taking Micardis 40mg and Lercanidipine 10 mg for my hypertension since December 2008..Also I am working as a Draftsman...Thank you..
6653958 tn?1395759593 One type of high blood pressure is hereditary; that is, it runs in families. It is called 'Familial Hypertension. One of my best friends was diagnosed with this in high school, and his daughter got the same diagnosis when she was a teenager, too. Here's more information about this: http://www.rightdiagnosis.com/f/familial_hypertension/ As you can see, blood pressure problems can be something people are just born with.
Avatar n tn I don't think your BP meds would do this. I too had HP, around 150/90 and started taking Benicar HCt 40/12.5, pretty much the same med you are on. My BP now runs 110/70, in fact it dropped almost immediately upon starting the meds with no side effects. Your BP has dropped considerably, but at 130 systolic you are still in the pre-hypertensive range and not yet down to a normal rate of 120/80 so I would not think your BP is doing this to you.
Avatar m tn Doc did a lot of blood work to include CBC, CPK, Vitaman, Iron, HIV, Syphalis, potasium, calcium, etc. The only medicine I take is for Micardis for Highg Blood Pressure.
1260907 tn?1269748318 Have you researched all hypothyroid symptoms (long list)? No energy and difficulty sleeping, body pain, are common with low thyroid levels. BP is affected too. Get freeT3 and freeT4 thyroid hormone levels checked - that is what ALL cells need. Do not settle for just TSH which is a 'messenger ' hormone from the pituitary to the thyroid. quote "I am 6'1" tall, weigh in at about 235.
Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me if a beta blocker should be used for a harmless PVC. I had quite a few last summer, then they changed by blood pressure meds and they seems to go away. I'd feel one from time to time but not many. Then, my doctor tried to add a diueretic along with my Micardis and the PVS came back to be noticable again. I've done the 3 week holter monitor test and I was diagnosed with harmless PVCs last summer.
Avatar f tn Yes it would make since for your doctor to lower your meds from what I have read from your post. Please rember that he is a doctor and has reasons for lowering your meds. Now It seems to me that the reason he would lower your meds is because of your heart rate.
