there is also another brand name known as Dolophine. Dolophine is simply Methadone Hcl in an actual pill form, not a wafer. It comes in 5mg, and 10mg strengths. This was oringially designed for people taking methadone for pain control, but was later integrated into the clinic system for those who couldnt tolerate drinking the liquid (Like myself, but Im not sure having to swallow 70 of those pills a day was any better!!!)

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. I know the last thing you need is people being judgemental. I was on methadone and norco through 2 pregnancies prescribed by my doctor. I weaned down to only 1 or 2 norco a day for the last 3 weeks and the babies did not have any withdrawl symptoms. If you quit now it should be fine. I don't know about the testing because mine was by prescription. Try to be strong for your baby and don't take any more. You can do it.

I have been an opiate abuser for the past two years. at my high point last year i was doing up to 400 mg of oxycodone per day. i did detox and rehab and wasn't doing too bad til i started a new job that gave my access to narcotics approx 4 mo ago. i was clean for approx 2 months prior to that. over the past 4 months i have been taking anywhere from 6 to 18 perc per day. 2 days ago the only thing available was methadone, so i did 10mg in the am and 10mg in the evening.
Currently am at 5mg of methadone a day. And it's like not feeling that high makes me depressed I hate it do much but its for the best I know it. I can live with out this crap!!
His friend gave him 5mg methadones to help with withdraws, and he decided to go for it. This is his 3rd day on methadone tapering down 20-15-10 mg he still has one 5mg methadone left. I say he should flush the last one since he is past the worst hydro w/D days.Is this safe or should he take the last one tommorow?
s been on the metadone programme now for 2yrs as is w/ding off methadone currently. He started on 65mg and initially went down 5mg a week til he got to about 10 then slowed it down to 2.5mg a week cos the w/d's were more severe. Once he got to 5mg he slowed it even further and has reduced by 1mg a week since then. he's been on 1mg for the last week and the w/d's have been full on. He's following the Thomas Recipe now cos as from today he's no longer taking any methadone.
I am prescribed 10mg methadone 3 times per day. I have decided to scale back a little with my doctors okay because it seemed a little too much for me. I just started methadone last week. Today at 9am I took 5mg and at 3:30pm I took 5mg. But it didn't last and I had bad pain so I took the other 5mg at 7:30pm. Now I am scheduled to take 10mg at 11:30pm. Can I take this only 4 and a half hours after taking 5mg or should I just take 5mg and go back to my regular schedule tommorrow?
the Methadone is provided via an outpatient opiate-abuse clinic; I'm pretty sure (not 100% though) that the psychiatrist knows that I am on the treatment program.
So, with that being said what do I do now? I have about 17 pills left of the Oxycodone HCL 5mg, and I have 12 Hydrocodone 7.5mg [that I've had for MONTHS now, by the way] left as well.
I know this is going to sound corny, but I'm starting to panic about this.. Not because I won't be able to get anymore pills and/or get the relief that this medicine has provided me for a little over a year now; But because I feel like I'm going to die from withdrawl.
Oh I know I keep changing my mind. After reading what Gnarly said I was all ready to jump at 5mg. Going from 6mg to 5mg was rough- then like I said got put on steroids which make everything feel worse- achy all over and worse headaches. So I have 1 month supply with the last week being 2mg. So decided to at least do the week of 4mg. I bought the calcium/mag/zinc and taking Vitadone and I'm on day 2 at 4mg I feel so much better then last week- just still no motivation.
a positive attitude is the best thing you can bring to the table it makes the difference between being uncomfortable or suffering....suffering is a choice.... with methadone you have to be in it for the long haul it is going to take resolve and perseverance to get threw it....as for tapering most people will go in and out of withdrawals threw out the taper....instead of dropping dose on such and such a day let your body be the final judge in dropping dose....
t cause he said Methadone is what is used while preg as it is safe? He started me on 10 mg 3X day which is WAY to strong so I am now trying 5mg 2X a day. Anyway, it seems this Methadone is much stronger than the hydro's were and that its addicting to. What is the point? Why wouldn't I just stay on the hydro's and taper down? I feel like I am getting nowhere. I understand they can't just take me off CT being preg as it is not safe, but why switch to Methadone?
t taken any methadone since Monday morning and today is my 4th day being off from it. I have had no issues so far sleeping and now that I seem to have that under control, I can deal with the crappy feeling all day long, the lack of energy, the frequent trips to the bathroom, the cramps, etc. I was scheduled to go back to the clinic yesterday but I didn't show up or call. I wasn't ready to face them giving me a guilt trip.
