lovenox

1414636 tn?1288284680 I have been on lovenox since I was 20 weeks along because the weeks prior they didn't know what was wrong with me if I would have walked for two more days my son and i would have died. I have had one live birth and 6 miss carriages due to blood clots and never knew why until now.
Avatar n tn What I did was stop the Coumadin 5 days before, and then 4 days before started Lovenox to bridge up until the surgery (Lovenox is a subcutaneous injection and is a Low Molecular Weight Heparin that will keep the blot thin enough to prevent clotting). The night of the day of the procedure I had, I restarted the Coumadin, and the following day after the surgery used Lovenox for 2 days giving the Coumadin time to begin building back up again.
Avatar n tn Does the dr think you have a blood clotting issue that contributed to the loss? Lovenox is typically used when women have blood clotting antibodies or gene mutations that potentially cause blood clotting such as MTHFR. Also, if you do have these issues, wouldn't you start the lovenox and aspirin while trying to conceive so you don't potentially lose the baby before 7 weeks? I am taking lovenox this cycle due to MTHFR and I'm starting it before I am pregnant. Good luck!
270512 tn?1333177636 oops... I keep doing that... I mean my RE.....
Avatar n tn Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.
Avatar f tn I was on lovenox for a short period of time. I could not find a spot for the injection that didn't make me cry. I'm sorry you are going through this.hopefully they can switch you to the heparin by mouth instead. They told me that they normally keep ppl on the lovenox until wk 37 b.c it's longer acting and then the heparin after that b.c it's out of your system faster and is safer foe delivery bit maybe you can get switched earlier? Good luck!
873190 tn?1304812975 s the thing about all these tests, treatments, medicines, etc. none of us really ever knows if what we are doing is the reason for success.... or if it is in fact coincidence. But I guess, if the intervention couldn't hurt then it is worth a try. It is interesting what you said about Factor V and it being an issue later in pregnancy, but yours ended in first trimester. I wonder if the same might be true for me- if it is that would be great :) Congrats on being 31 weeks along.
Avatar n tn I recently was in the hospital for a blood clot in the lungs and the put me on lovenox and warfarin, now I have severe gas which moves to my head and neck and cause me to get little if no sleep. Could this be caused by the medicine I am taking or something else?
Avatar n tn Hi there, Any drug is prescribed by a doctor based on the indications and potential side effects expected if any. Usually Prednisolone is no longer used than the first pregnancy test. The heparin, aspirin are usually continued till your 10 weeks gestation is reached. But the exact treatment can be suggested only by your treating infertility expert since she knows best about your medical history. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination.
178698 tn?1228774338 This is my second time with lovenox shots. The first was just to start the thinning process then I was able to take warfarin. They never diagnosed my first DVT, I was told it was a fluke. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant and have a second DVT. After testing I have Factor V Leiden and take 2x daily shots of 100mg lovenox. I already have had 3 natural pregnancies so this one surprised me.
Avatar f tn if you saw a sac, fetal pole and h/b that is what is most important. i had the higher hcg levels, but no fetal pole and h/b...that is where it isn't good. so keep positive and if your doctor is reassuring you...that is great!!! good luck w/ your upcoming tests!
Avatar f tn I am 4 weeks pregnant, and it was highly suggested (based on the results of bloodwork drawn right before I became pregnant) to take daily Lovenox injections, as I am at risk for bloodclots. This has been the most miserable part of being pregnant, as I am a little wimpy about giving the injections... I am just wondering if anyone else is on or has been on this regimen and and have any luck making it a little less painful and any trick of the trades with avoiding the bruising... THANKS!
Avatar f tn The reason that aspirin will not work to thin your blood is because of your factor 5 deficiency. How this deficiency works to decrease clotting time doesnt have anything to do with how aspirin works. Aspirin will help counter the effects of the birth control pill, though, so is not a bad idea. Lovenox is a good idea to counter the factor 5 deficiency. so in my opinion, you should continue with the baby aspirin and lovenox as ordered.
Avatar n tn RE had me start Lovenox after 2nd beta (I have been on baby aspirin and am continuing). My question is, with a low-med positive is Lovenox indicated. RE says he is being extra cautious, which I respect. But, could it cause any problem with the baby or pregnancy if it is NOT needed. Also, could the elevated ACL have anything to do with my infertility? Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn just started me on Lovenox, I got one + hpt, still waiting on beta confirmation, but anyway, just gave myself an injection of Lovenox and now I am feeling a little light headed. Is this normal? What are some of the side effects I can expect?
422823 tn?1229736847 I talked to the nurse and asked if there was anything that I could take, because Tylenol is a no-no with the Lovenox. She told me to go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist, because they would know more than she does. Is that right? Shouldnt she have asked the doctor or something? I hate my doctors office!
162802 tn?1252121259 i spent 6 days in the hospital and was given 5 shots of Lovenox around my belly button. Lovenox is used to prevent blood clots. I immediately got huge bruises and my abdomen began to swell. I was told it was normal and would go away. With each day the swelling increased and the pain increased. I was discharged and kept going to my surgeon and the ER because the swelling kept growing on the right side of my abdomen. in 5 days it was up to 20lbs.
Avatar n tn Gave Birth on 6-19-13 started having unprotected sex 3 weeks after birth. Received my "period" about 10 days later. even though I got what I think was my period is it possible im pregnant since im so fertile?
1524811 tn?1333241301 I've been on Lovenox for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy (I'm 22 1/2 weeks now)...my baby has been fine. They just watch both of us a little closer. I'm not sure if the doctor told you but, Lovenox is pretty much the only blood thinner you can take that does not pass through your placenta. I guess for me, I had to weigh the risks of not taking the shot vs what "might" happen.
Avatar m tn They just told me I had to be within 2 and 3 on the Protime for 4 weeks, and then take Lovenox! What did I know about it? Please pray that tomorrow the Protime will be within range. Then I will have 2 weeks in--I just want to get it over with! Thanks Again!
523025 tn?1227557625 Glad to hear all is okay! My doc has also said I need to be off lovenox one week prior to delivery. What I don't get is, what if baby decides to make an early appearance?
Avatar f tn m worried about what I was reading about epidural while taking lovenox, debates on when you should stop prior to surgery for pregnancy; possibly bleeding too much. That and I do not get numb underneath my skin so another c-section would be a bit uncomfortable since I passed out last time from all the pain and I like to be aware what is going on. That and if anything goes wrong I'd be passed out before I knew so....
Avatar f tn It's called heparin. Lovenox does not have a medicine to counter block. Basically you will be given a medicine to stop you from bleeding out.
Avatar n tn Lovenox is safe if the kidney function is normal. If it is abnormal then the Lovenox therapy need to be monitored with blood tests to check factor Xa. Lovenox can be given to prevent clots in the stents but your wife might need triple antiplatelet therapy with aspirin, Plavix and Pletal (100 mg twice a day).
