Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female. I am on isotretinoin for acne. But recently my general physician prescribed vitamin B-complex supplements for other health problems. Is it safe to take vitamin B-Complex capsules with isotretinoin? I am not any other medication.
Avatar m tn I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Avatar n tn Hi, Isotretinoin (INN) ( Accutane) is a medication used for the treatment of severe acne. It is sometimes used as a chemotherapy medication for prevention and treatment of certain skin cancers. It is a retinoid, meaning it derives from vitamin A and is found in small quantities naturally in the body. Isotretinoin is a teratogen and is highly likely to cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy.
309783 tn?1271958229 When acne and rosacea are both present and oral Isotretinoin is used, do telangiectasias tend to resolve, or do oral retinoids worsen this problem (as reported with topical retinoids) ? Eloise.
Avatar n tn maintenance doses of oral isotretinoin in the range of 10-40 mg every other day or 0.05% isotretinoin gel is rarely indicated as a suppressive treatment for widespread disfiguring sebaceous hyperplasia. Oral isotretinoin should be prescribed by a physician who is experienced in oral retinoid therapy and only for patients without contraindications.

Avatar m tn I am very concerned about it and need some education on the matter. Are retinoids secreted through saliva or semen? is it okh for us two to have sex during the therapy period?
Avatar m tn Can you send me a link to what you were reading that said there is a relationship between Isotretinoin and Hashimoto's? I don't know of any scientific studies being done on that. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease, in which your body recognizes your thyroid as foreign. Many of us have it, who have never taken Isotretinoin. Accutane is no longer on the market in the U.S.
Avatar m tn Hi I am a 16 year old white male. About 2-3 weeks ago I discovered a lymph node under my jaw. It seemed quite small (about 1cm). It is non-tender, firm and movable. Being a Hypochondriac I made an appoitment the next day and the doctor had a look at it. He said it was probably just caused by the combination of having severe acne and sinus infection.
Avatar f tn Hi, Isotretinoin (INN) is a medication used for the treatment of severe acne.Accutane is the most common trade name for this drug. Currently, isotretinoin continues to be used only after other acne treatments fail to produce results.
Avatar n tn Hello, Oratane capsules contain a medication known as isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is often a cure for acne. You can take oratane after 3 weeks after miscarriage but Oratane causes birth defects and must absolutely not be used by pregnant women or by women who intend to become pregnant. Hence the time you are taking oratane , you should not fall pregnant.

Avatar f tn Hi, A daily oral intake of vitamin A derivative isotretinoin (marketed as Accutane) over a period of 4-6 months can cause long-term resolution or reduction of acne. It is believed that isotretinoin works primarily by reducing the secretion of oils from the glands, however some studies suggest that it affects other acne-related factors as well. Isotretinoin has been shown to be very effective in treating severe acne and can either improve or clear well over 80% of patients.
Avatar n tn My sister is suffering from this rash for the last 6 months. She used to use pevisone cream. It reduced inflamation but never cured her completely. This time a doctor suggested her to use "azelaic acid 20%". When using it with anti-biotic now the rash get's better, but yet not 100% cured. We are ready to give it couple more weeks time. But we want it to be cured completely and never come back.
Avatar m tn Also do research on Isotretinoin. It is also used to treat some cancers. There is also people on the site who have mentioned that they have developed Acquired Cutaneous adherence syndrome known as stick skin syndrome since they have had treatments for their cancer.

Went to Arthopedic and he said it is infection. im now on antibiotics (one week on IV augmenten + oxidil and then on ciprofloxacin 500 twice) for last 5 weeks. Today i suddenly feel same kind of pain in my left groin (front of hip joint) . im wondering if there was infection in right hip joint how can that infection travel to my left joint even im on antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I was also on acne treatment when I was younger. Roaccutane which contains Isotretinoin she is also on Isotretinoin, now here is a possible connection. Isotretinoin is also used to treat some cancers. There was a male on this forum who said he developed sticky skin after cancer treatment. Isotretinoin is a retinoid, related to Vitamin A. Overdose of vit A has its own side effects. I am still in extensive research mode, so maybe investigate all this and see if you can relate to anything.
Avatar m tn So the only option I have is to avoid triggers and wait for the Rosacea to get worse. But waiting for it to get worse is so difficult for me. Having said that, I am not really much concerned about the red part. I am very very very very concerned about the potential disfigurements of the nose. I understand that the extra growth tissue can be removed by laser.
309783 tn?1271958229 Hi. My dermatologist recommends long term low dose oral Isotretinoin for resistant rosacea co-existing with adult acne (there is no risk of pregnancy). He says this will reduce telangiectasias and redness. I thought retinoids made telangiectasias and redness worse? Or is that just topical retinoids? I would value your advice. Thanks, Eloise.
Avatar n tn I have a rash on my lips(mouth) for almost 2 years. No one can seem to diagnose or find a cure for it. They claim eczema, but they seem to use this for eveything they don't know whats it is. I don't believe this eczema, it is not in the family I have never had this problem, and in a rare are the lips. I have done every test know to man, and the following have been ruled out, virus, herpes, fungal, yeast, perioral dermatitis, etc..
