cozaar

Avatar m tn At that time I was taking 50 mg of Atenelol per day for heart palpitations, nothing more than OTC acid reducer. The new MD prescribed Hyzaar for HPB. I had horrible feelings so we cut it to half per day 25mg and 25 Atenelol. I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar f tn 3 cm to 4.7 in the last year. I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?
Avatar m tn It is a combination of Valsartan and the same diuretic as Hyzaar. It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.

Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar f tn Yes, this is pretty standard now. You should ask for Doctor signs that the Lisinopril might be having an adverse reaction though.
Avatar n tn Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack. Any suggestions woould help.
Avatar m tn Does your stress test report indicate hypokinesis (heart muscle impairment)? Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.
Avatar m tn He is currently on Tikosyn, Pradaxa for Clot Prevention/Stroke, Hyzaar for his 40-year-history of HPB, Zoloft for anxiety/depression following a job loss in 3/09, Gabapention for sciatica, and Vitamin D and multivitamin. He has started experiencing mental confusion in the past 3-6 months. Is this related to the transient A-Fib or one of the medications he is taking, or is it transient due to his age of 62.
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Avatar n tn I came across some soma and really do not know what it is for. is it a narcotic? is it addictive?
Avatar n tn mom was diagnised with Atrial Fibrillation and was admitted to the hospital for seven days. She is otherwise very healthy and was only on Hyzaar for blood pressure prior. She was told her heart was strong and showed minimal damage, chest Xray proved negative, stress test was passed with exceptional results, but was kept hospitalized until her heart rate stopped spiking. She is now on 5.0 mill.
Avatar n tn I have no experience with Nadolol, but I read it is a non-selective beta blocker that is administered to lower HR and BP. So, if you un-medicated HR is low, say 60 bpm or less, then it seems reasonable that with the medication you could go as low as 59 bpm or so. Have you checked you BP, it may be lower too. The beta blocker may be administered to lower the work you heart is doing to aid in the healing process, not sure on this point, just seems like a possibility on why is was prescribed.
