1068689 tn?1325827206 Hi my name is coit and I don't know what this medicene is, because i'm not a doctor, but if the medicine you are taking now raises you're BG to that high level I would stop the medication imediatly and contact you're doctor, you're blood glucose leveles should never be that high even if you are type one or two diabetic.
Avatar m tn the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.
1273125 tn?1365077526 I am taking 850 mg of Metformin twice a day. My morning blood sugar is around 200. I am close to or over 200 for most of the day as well. I have decided that until I can lose weight and get my numbers in control that way that insulin might be a good choice for me. I am afraid that it constantly being that high is going to cause damage. I have tried other medications such as Actos and Januvia but they did not make that big a difference. I tried the Byetta as well with the same results.

Avatar m tn Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180ยบ. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.
Avatar n tn Depending on the severity of your reaction, the re-challenge test is often used to determine if indeed it is caused by the medication. If you have the symptoms while on the medication, then they go away when the med is stopped, you should then re-try the medication at a low dose and see if the symptoms return. If they do, it is probably from the medication ans you should not be taking it. PLEASE DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR DOCTOR PRIOR TO TRYING IT AT ALL.

Avatar n tn My glucose level has been over 400 for more than a week. How serious is this. My doctor does not seem overly concerned made appointment for a week from now.
Avatar m tn Initially, when I started on metformin I had similar issues but I think those were just in my head more than anything else. What I did is just learn to eat better but when you are always hungry its got to be difficult to eat right and not feel full. Have you spoken to your doctor about this? I'm just throwing this out there but could there be some condition that hasn't been diagnosed. An eating disorder perhaps? Get back to me. I'd like to hear how things are going.
Avatar n tn It's not skin, my stomach is hard. I go get checkups on a regular basis, my blood pressure is down and my sugar is down, but they won't take me off my meds. Thank you for your comments.
Avatar n tn I am a Type II diabetic person for the last 10 years. My age is 62. Last time when I took a review, I was surprised to notice that my Post prandial sugar reading was surged from 180 fasting ti 327. This was something alarming. Not the absolute value that concerned me but the surge of the rise from 180 to 327 in just 2 hours. I had one Vada and two Idlys and a Upma in the breakfast, without tea or coffee. The Doctor changed my course of medication.
