diovan

Avatar f tn You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or tiredness as your body adjusts to the medication. You may also experience diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or cough. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusual thirst, weakness, confusion, fainting, fast heartbeat, decreased sexual ability.
1260320 tn?1270394906 My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar m tn I am pretty constipated sometimes even after as much water I drink. I have been reading alot on the diovan hct side effects and come to find out that all of my problems are from it. I am going to have to find a new bp medicine. I sincerely thank you for your time to reply.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had a second ablation about 9 months ago and it apparently was successful because I have been in normal sinus rhythm since then. the problem I'm experiencing is with my heart rate. since the ablation proceedure my heart rate elevated to 100-110 bpm. my EP prescribed cardizem cd and it is keeping it under control now. the side effects are what's causing me problems. my toes and lower legs are feeling numb.
Avatar n tn ve been using anti-hypertensives for ten years now starting with Lotensen and then switching to Diovan HCT then to hydroclorothyazide for a year or two then back to Diovan HCT. I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc.
343006 tn?1314446471 as I didnt have this happen before.. not even when on toprol or diovan. but did have worse side effects from them ! have you ever had anyone with these problems or symptoms , that is on verapamil or maxzide ??
369861 tn?1306275686 I had been on HCT 25 mgand Diovan Hct 320/25 mg for about 2-3 years. My primary doctor took me off the HCT. I had an appointment with my endocrinologist prior to this. I advise the dr what took place with the ER and my primary. The endo doctor then took me off the Diovan HCT and started me on Diovan so that i could take a renin and aldesterone tests. Does the potassium have anything to do with the thyroid and why did the endo take me off all diuretics to take the two tests.
459164 tn?1206363843 blurring vision - lazy eye lids- effects nerve in eyes. with long term use be it known, I went to my eye doctor (yearly visit) he found after testing, I had slight left eye signs of early Glaucoma. he than asked me what b.p meds am I useing daily? I told him, and he said - Point blank get off the Diovan ! it can cause Glaucoma.
Avatar m tn Do you suffer from dry mouth? Sometimes medications have the side effect of dry mouth which can increase your chances of dental problems. What basically happens is that without the saliva, the food is more sticky and isn't washed out as frequently, resulting in it staying in your mouth longer and causing problems such as cavities or tartar/plaque build up.
Avatar f tn However, anything that causes high blood pressure will have the potential to raise PA pressures a bit (this is because the elevated pressures on the left side can be transmitted back to the lungs). Bottom line, I agree with your doc to treat your high blood pressure. It doesnt necessarily need to be treated to a LOW number but 180 is certainly way too high----would aim to get in under 140 systolic. Best, Dr.
Avatar f tn I have a fasting blood glucose level of 101 and 102 for several years now and have been taking diovan hct and excedrin. I know these drugs have the ability to raise blood sugar readings. Should I be concerned about these readings? If I get off these drugs will my levels return to normal?
406399 tn?1201884300 as the side effects from toprol and diovan are very harsh for me! I cant understand why a Doctor would go backwords and put me back on a medication that caused me problems before? seems strange to me ! and now that im on the stuff, im haveing all the bad effects again -shortness of breath at times, and dizziness and fatigue, massive headaches ! and cramping everywhere.. b.p dropped down but its not under control yet.. as it spikes..
343006 tn?1314446471 Healthfood stores will not tell you that and frankly the employees there get little over minimum wage and they are NOT informed about side effects, at least that is what I experienced with several different Healthfood stores. They have to get a book and read up on it and tell you everything is fine when in reality it does have side effects. I finally found my answers from a well known Clinic which I will not mention since this is competition.
Avatar f tn When they sent me home, I had so many different meds I had to take but no explanations about side effects so I phoned the pharmacist who gave me a lot of information about the meds and also sent written information about what the meds were for, side-effects, etc. Sometimes a pharmacist is more familiar with the drug than the drs are. I would assume that just because he/she is a dr that he/she knows everything.
Avatar m tn This is a confusing problem. I do know that anxiety can cause some of what is happening to you but wouldn't want to say that until you've been checked out . . . again. Since you had a recent change where you had to add the water pill, I'd say that this is more than anxiety. How is your weight, your eating habits, your exercise level and do you smoke? Those things can factor in. If you are experiencing symptoms still of dizziness, I would check right back in with your doctor.
Avatar f tn You did not report how your digestion is doing, so do let us know, please, as that is what brought you to our forum. I think the problem with the renal artery is what has goofed up your BP and is causing a lot of your symptoms. Do not worry about your adrenals or the other findings on the scan. If your circulatory system is not working right, that is far more important.
343006 tn?1314446471 I have been on verapmil and maxzide for just over 30days now , switched off of toprol xl and diovan (due to adverse side effects and massive problems) Im started getting alot of trapped gas and bloating belly conditions! no matter what I eat or drink -it happens? it does go down within 2 or 3 hours after. but sometimes I get the worse ever trapped gas! painfull goes right to my shoulder and upper back and chest ! pushing bloating feeling ?
Avatar f tn I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.
514523 tn?1215832667 You may need to taper off of the Diovan at some point, so you should be mindful of what your blood pressure is doing and be prepared to ask your doctor to adjust or discontinue the Diovan. You're not on any thyroid meds, so you will need to find out why you are hyper, and you will likely be on the Toprol for a few months at least while the thyroid problem is sorted out. Best of luck to you.
Avatar m tn Diovan is usually well tolerated. I had an awful time on bystolic...it made me sick to my stomach. Everyone is different and luckily, there are dozens of HP meds you can try. It often takes a bit of tweaking back and forth until you and your doctor find the right one. Did you tell your doc about the fatigue?
378273 tn?1262097621 I have now been on Metopropol almost a month. I do get depressed (I probably shouldn't have read up on the possible side effects) and get tired very early in the evening. By 8 p.m. I'm ready to hit the sack. Very annoying-- The running hasn't been affected too much; I'm slower, but not by much. However, I'm constantly hungry. Munching all day long so have gained about 5 lbs (even though I'm exercising as much as ever) Is anyone else really hungry on beta blockers?
