How long have you been on the Bupropion? It can take 6-8 weeks to have any effect on your body..but that drug in most cases is not used to treat ADD and studies have proven that its not very effective in treating ADD. the more I read ,...the more I see that these meds are used to treat bipolar disorder....I am starting to suspect that I am not getting the right diagnosis or that the psychiatrists are not telling me everything. My pharmacist said that is a problem with Wellbutrin, the strongest effect is what you take that day, and the buildup over the 8 weeks I trialled it did not amount to that much. I guess that is why doc said to go off it cold-turkey when he switched me to another med, which he definitely said I would have to taper from to go off.
The medication could still be in your system, and since it was taken very short term, it will take a little bit for it to completely kick out. I was on a certain class of medications a few years ago, and I can't take that class anymore due to the dark thoughts they give me. I've experienced this 3 times before, and it takes an upwards of a week for any kind of normalcy to resume. But it does come back.

So ive been taking .5mg lorazepams when needed. I used to be on 150mg bupropion but stopped when i got pregnant. Anyways Im scared now to take them both at the same time. I've been on bupropion xl 300mg for 7 years and it has truly changed my life. I used to have very severe Seasonal Affective Disorder and social anxiety, both of which have been all but cured with the medication. However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills.
I bought a cheap microgram scale to do just that and it allows me to adjust the meds to my ideal dosage since what works for me is actually in between the standard doses it comes in. Maybe that’s an option for your med. I would read the literature to check. Both vyvanse and adderall say you can open the capsule as long as you don’t crush the beads. Hope that’s helpful.
