Avatar f tn About a year ago I developed what I thought was the flu. I went to the dr. Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems.
Avatar f tn My treatment plan includes the usual .... steam, nasal irrigation, nasal gels, nasal oils, humidifiers, tons of water and tea, no dairy and ocassionally an antibiotic and oral steroids. This is how I’ve managed to keep things under control. Had septoplasty and turbinate reduction about 17 years ago and maybe there was some relief but really not sure (surgery screwed up my septum, now ive got a septal spur and small hole in septum....in other words, the doc screwed it up).
Avatar f tn So I heard I'm not suppose to use nasal spray, but I get real bad congestion every day all day idk why. And the doctor said I could use it. But my question is how often and andybofy had problems when using them?
Avatar f tn If it's,allergies you could take benadryl. That helps me when im sick and stuffy.
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar n tn I used a prescription nasal spray stronger than afrin and my one month old is healthy and happy. :) I used it during most of my pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Yes it it safe I had a cold and the doctors still recommend nasal spray for me!
772218 tn?1249131067 Routine use of a nasal steroid spray can be very effective in decreasing inflammation in the nose and sinuses along with mucus production. When a nasal steroid spray is used regularly it can prevent inflammation. However it does not provide immediate relief of symptoms. It may need to be used every day for several weeks to months to notice improvement in the symptoms. To get the most help from any nasal spray first do a nasal wash to remove mucus from the nose and sinuses.
Avatar n tn I have j been to an ENT for my sinus problem (i.e addiction to nasal spray and nose blockage. He had given me antibiotics (course is over) . He has also given me flixonase (fluticasone propionate) nasal spray, a solophar mouth/throat spray (Dequalinium chloride '0.015gm, benzalkonium chloride 0.035gm, alcohol 6% by volume) and Fexet (Fexofenadine:120mg) to have for one month. My course ends round about 25 september 2011.
Avatar m tn I have had the same addiction to the same 4way nasal spray for over 2years,just when you think there is no cure,i have the answer and I promise it works.
Avatar f tn The doctor gave me a steroid injection and perscribed a new nasal spray, Zetonna. This nasal spray is an aerosol powder instead of liquid. I have used it for a couple days and have noticed that the congestion has gotten worse. Shouldn't the congestion be getting better with the steroid shot and nasal spray? What would be making everything worse?
Avatar f tn Well....continue the Nasonex spray. What steroid inhaler is working well for you? You stated you had problems with Symbicort and I am assuming you are no longer using that. Correct? You should try the Singulair because this can be more effective for controlling the Allergic Rhinitis and the Asthma. The physician can CLOSELY monitor your liver with labs while you are taking the medication.
Avatar f tn The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.
Avatar f tn My daughter takes singulair every night and still has asthma and allergies flare ups. Veramyst nasal spray works best for me and nasonex is ok. I don't know which antihistamine medicine works best, I've tried them all too and they all have a side effect,.
Avatar n tn how did you do phase 2 of the diet? That is where I am having issues.
988332 tn?1249902570 I use a non-medicated Hypertonic saline wash with xylitol. It's product name is FESS Sinu-Cleanse.best thing I've ever used never need nasal sprays anymore.I don't know if you have an equivalent in the US,but if you show the pharmacist what's in it he'll know.
612551 tn?1450022175 I use saline nasal spray, but sometimes use Nasonex nasal spray for short term use, with just one spray in each nostril instead of two. It helps, reduces swelling and reduces eye symptoms and allergic headaches. It doesn't seem to affect my PVCs, at least not so far. I use it only when symptoms are really bad.
9905230 tn?1409232795 You also may use a saline nasal spray, such as Ocean or Nasal. Do not use Neosynephrine nasal spray for longer than 3 days. You may take Robitussin DM for coughs or chest congestion. A warm salt-water gargle is recommended for a sore throat. Throat drops, spray, or lozenges are acceptable. 8827391 tn?1400247234 I currently have the same issue i work in a pharmacy and I verified with my pharmacist he who also has 5kids he said that Sudafed is a class C which means there are no studies bad or good on it so I could take that, but for me that was a no he did however suggest nasacort nasal spray I decided I would wait it out and suffer through id rather avoid using anything as much as possible
910524 tn?1288273614 So thus evening I took a dose of nasal spray to try it again and my nasal congestion was better but lo and behold I am sitting here at 2:00 am writing this as I've been coughing for the last 15 minutes. It's to much of a coincidence for me to not think it's the omnaris spray. I will now stop the dose again until I see my doctor next week and get her thoughts. I can deal with the nasal congestion better than this coughing. This is of course just my theory.
Avatar f tn My question is this I used to be prescribed a medication called stadol nasal spray and it worked for me but I was prescribed four bottles a month and still had days with migraines I couldn't handle and had to go to the emergency room for them to break with IV dilaudid or demerol 2mg of dilaudid or 100 mg; of demerol would bring the pain level down, my migraines have always been considered migraines but my medical records indicate that I had a brain anyersm after my daughters birth that burst
Avatar f tn I am 8 weeks pregnant. I have really bad nasal congestion & I can't breathe through my nose in which I can't stand! Is it safe for me to use a sinex nasal spray to clear up my nose? Or what other methods can I use to help the nasal congestion!?
Avatar n tn If you just stop using the nasal spray, you will go through a period of about 24 to 36 hours where your nose will be almost completely blocked up from the mucous membranes swelling with rebound swelling, but if you can tolerate that 24 to 36 hours, then the swelling subsides, and within a couple of days you will be breathing normally without the spray.
