aldara

Avatar m tn o u gotta be careful with aldara i used it it worked for me but u can only get it on the warts if u get it on ur healthy skin it will burn the ish outta it and it'll get all red and burn so put Vaseline and ur healthy skin.
Avatar f tn Hey! I know this is an old post, but I'm curious what happened? Something very similar is going on with me but I test negative for HSV2 and discontinued aldara 2 weeks ago... could use some guidance...could the drug still be effecting me?
Avatar n tn What i can tell u for sure is that Aldara is not causing more warts on your body... This actually is because you are suffering from a very recent viral infection and your body is just getting familiar with this virus... By the time your immune system gets familiar to this virus and starts fighting it off, your body will keep producing the warts... You may need to talk to your dermatologist who can decide on any other treatment from a list of available ones...
Avatar m tn Eventually I had them checked, they were warts and I had them removed and was put on Aldara. I used what my dermatologist gave me but I had no insurance so I never actually filled the prescription. The warts came back months later. I thought about the laser surgery which would be very expensive but the doctor put me back on the Aldara, which I filled this time, hoping it would take care of the problem.
Avatar m tn If you leave them they may grow and multiply so it is important for you to get them removed. If they are warts you are at risk of spreading the virus even more so when the warts are present, so its always best to get them seen too.
Avatar m tn what is the normal time it takes for the skin redness and burning to heal after using aldara? i used it for about a month and a half and my penis has never been the same even after 3 weeks off the awful drug. if anyone could offer anything thatd be great. im trying to go see a derm doc. i cant live with this burning pain for the rest of my life. dont know where to go... thanks.
535760 tn?1213891166 I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).
Avatar f tn However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
Avatar m tn i saw the surgeon and he said ye cauterization will be done on the area and a surgery date was set. in the meantime i went to my doctor and he gave me aldara so i used it for 2 weeks now, i also changed my diet like i said and im athletic so i played sports. when my doctor prescribed aldara he said it may reduce the size or even clear the warts entirely and i may not need surgery but he said it was unlikely since i had a large cluster of warts.
Avatar m tn This year I finally got health insurance and saw a doctor. I have used 4 rounds of aldara over the last 3 to 4 months and saw absolutely zero improvement. Hundreds of dollars gone and more warts keep sprouting. Please help! What can I do to get rid of these things. Any home remedies? Anything I can buy on the net? I saw a site for vidarox. It looked good but I'm skeptical and it's expensive. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I have used aldara for awhile.. (i'm female)for me its only made my skin more sensitive and once it gave me a blister which made me bleed. Maybe you shoulod just call and ask your doc about whats going on..I only thought aldara caused local skin reactions.
Avatar m tn I have read elsewhere to only apply to the warts, but i have also read that aldara seems to respect healthy skin and only attacks unhealthy skin. Which is true and should i continue applying the aldara liberally to the entire areas. 2. The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop? The cream does not bother me and the rawness is by no means unbearable or even that aggravating.
Avatar f tn I’ve read that one can get herpes-like symptoms from Aldara. Is it normal to experience this a week after I’ve stopped using it? Is it normal for it to last this long? Is it possible? I’m very petrified, too petrified to go back to my gyno. Please help.
Avatar m tn I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.
Avatar m tn The skin on the head of the penis likely was in contact with the area where the aldara was applied and would have been in contact with it for some hours at night. Anyone know if this is a common reaction for aldara. Its similar but different to a cold sore that one gets on your lip.
Avatar n tn Could this be a primary herpes outbreak or is it normal for the skin to react this way after ending aldara treatment? I experience minimal itching which i always have and no pain but to touch the affected ares is a little tender.
Avatar n tn from what i've read Aldara is not to be used internally!I had a LEEP!
Avatar m tn hi there i have recently been using aldara cream for my anal warts (HPV) I have used it twice so far friday and monday. And today (tuesday) i have been feeling muscle pain, and i guess some kind of fever i feel cold or hot at various times of the day but i can function... but during the weekend i did play soccer and hockey and did sweat a lot and ran a lot.
Avatar f tn aldara is very irritating to the skin sometimes. Your doctor thinking it could be herpes is a very common thing. Better to err on the side of caution though. You've both been tested for herpes before so the chances of this being genital herpes is very low. Not sure if either of you tested + for hsv1 or not on your testing you had done. We will gladly look at both ofyour herpes blood tests from back when you were tested if youw ant a 2nd opinion on them too.
Avatar n tn Im a 19 year old male and i was diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum about 5 months ago on my genitals. I used Aldara cream which got rid of most of them and im basically clear of them however now on the shaft of my penis there is a spot where the skin is very raw looking. i put polysporin on it to help it heal. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was normal after having Molluscum. Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn Actinic keratoses are thickened, scaly, pre-cancerous patches of skin on the face and scalp, usually caused by too much sun exposure. Actinic keratoses are also known as solar keratoses. Aldara is used for several skin conditions. Your doctor will tell you where to apply Aldara cream, and how often and for how long to apply it for your condition. Aldara should be applied just before bedtime and left on the skin for 6-10 hours. If your skin condition reappears you need to talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn i was told it could be because of Aldara. But the coronal sulcus is red. I have been tested for all other stds and im negative for them. I was told it was balanitis from one doctor but the medication didnt do anything. I was also told to use steroidal cream but told that it was bad to use it from another doctor and one dermatologist said it could be eczema and the other said its because of aldara even though i used that awhile back. Im so confused.
Avatar m tn For what it's worth I contracted molluscum thru my partner. He had it on his forearm and legs. Somehow it ended up on my lady parts. He denied ever having it on his man parts. At first I truly thought is was razor burn. In all actuality me shaving led to multiple bumps. They never itched, hurt, or bothered me. I realized they were getting worse than better. I got scared and made an appt right away and right away the dr knew what I had.
Avatar m tn I'd return to the dermatologist for further evaluation to see what all is going on. if the aldara isn't working or you are somehow spreading it to other body parts by touching, perhaps you need these all surgically removed instead of trying the aldara to treat it. not to panic you but no easy way to ask this - do you have any underlying medical issues? also have you been tested for hiv?
Avatar m tn I have been treating anal warts for 8 weeks with aldara and after about 6 weeks i noticed they were slowly shrinking. While the visible warts are indeed shrinking (almost gone entirely), i know that there are internal ones in my anus that are still there, whether or not the aldara is helping them is undetermined.
Avatar f tn Well you want to start by not using tampons, they can spread and irritate your warts. also you can treat the inner warts with aldar but when you return home you can have them frozen off. you can start taking Vitamins E &C to help your immune system, eating healthy and exercising will also help. HPV in most cases will clear in 2 years at the most.
