Avatar n tn From what I understand, plaque can begin to accumulate from childhood. As a child, I was spoiled through treats and dining out. Being from the south our diners were cooked by the motto that gravy and bacon made everything taste better. What can be done to reverse plague that has build up for 30 something years? Other than exercise and diet, is there any kind of treatment, medication, "super-food" (the fad of the day it seems) that will do the trick?

Avatar n tn The nitros are extremely bad for the liver causing cirrohous. Azor is a calcium channel blocker and I am not sure why you are on this medication? How high is your blood pressure? If you are going to stay on Azor it would be best to make sure that your heart muscle is healthy.
548642 tn?1266179652 Things like anatacids and laxatives, need to be taken with a 2 hr buffer on either side of the treatment meds. For example: Your dosage for Riba is 8 am, no anatacids or laxatives until after 10 am, or taken prior to 6 am. Grapefruits and grapefruit juice is a no-no on treatment. Also, vitamins w/calcium and/or fiber supplements need to be taken outside of the 2 hr window as well. At least this is what I've been told by my doctors.

Avatar f tn s, and my bp was usually around 110/70 sometimes lower, well my family doctor a week later with the same blood results said my thryoid is fine, and actually lowered my lopressor, and took me off of the Accupril 10mg. The next day I was taken to the er with my heart rate being 163 the doctor there looked at my blood results and agreed that I had hyperthryoidism and needed to be on medicine for it, and put me back on 50 mg of lopressor twice a day.
Avatar n tn I am an RN and my boyfriend has been type I diabetic for 28 years, having had better control for the las 5 years with an insulin pump. His BP is controlled, He's been on Accupril 40mg daily for approx 7 yrs. Hgb A1-c is 7.4. His kidney function test have been ok except for his latest BUN/CREAT ratio result of 29(the lab using 6-25 for norm). Should we be worrying, contacting a renal specialist and is there anything else other than tighter BS control and sodium intake that we can do?
Avatar n tn 30%, it is considered to risky to operate. There is EECP therapy that has helped those with angina who find no relief from medication and at a high risk for surgery or where surgery is not an option. And there is a heart transplant. No one is able to prognosticate the time left very accurately. Four years ago, I was taken to ICU with congested heart failure. I had an enlarged left ventricle, EF29-13%, and coronary artery occlusions, and severe mitral valve regurgitation.
Avatar m tn there is no best medication for the condition you described. And medication has to fit the whole picture about the person and that can only be done through a consultation with a well-qualified psychiatrist.
Avatar m tn There is Clonazepam. Also known as Klonopin. Which is an anxiety med. My question is what has your question got to do with anxiety? I'm a little bit confused. Avatar f tn Give the medication at least 2 weeks and see if the response is good. If this is a fungal infection, antifungal and corticosteroid creams may be able to help. Is the spot itchy? Is there any scaling present? Any associated white lines and redness in the nearby area? Observe if the rash is enlarging. Also, fungal infections may present with itchiness and there may be a well defined reddish border delineating it from surrounding normal skin.
Avatar f tn I don't know if your medication is causing it, but I can tell from your previouis post and this on that you are having a terrible time. I will try to be brief since I am a little preoccupied at this time, so forgive me if I sound brusque. It usually doesn't last. At least for me. it was a big feature of my psychosis which happened during the depressed cycle of my bipolar disorder.
Avatar m tn Did the doctor prescribe any medication for you to take? Also do you take Aspirin? From my own experience, I started Verapamil after nearly a week. I felt my upper right tummy pain so I saw the GP. He let me did an ultrasound. It came up with a very early stage fatty liver. My ALP also raise. Since it rise, never go back to normal. After a year, I was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol. I don't like red meat so I didn't eat enough red meat. My iron is very low.
Avatar n tn The ER doc said it might be endometriosis or my birth control pill that is causing it. If anyone is taking Ocella have you had this problem before? and what do I need to do?
Avatar n tn I am not a Dr (obviously) but your need to yawn, is probably from your need for oxygen. Since your heart is pumping inefficiently, your body is receiving diminished supply of oxygenated blood from heart. ( when we yawn, it usually is from the need for more oxygen). Your cardiologist can request a Cardiopulmonary exercise test to help give you info as to how your lungs/ heart are interacting .
