7758733 tn?1402589420 Non stress tests are typically performed after 28 weeks of pregnancy. The most common time a non stress test is ordered is when a woman goes past her due date. There are no risks or possible side effects associated with a non stress test. Some women are advised to under go non stress tests for reasons other than post term. These reasons include: high risk pregnancies, history of complications in the third trimester and diabetes. Non stress tests can be performed right in the doctor’s office.
Avatar f tn I've had a non-stress test done during my pregnancy. It's really easy and a bit boring. You go in, they hook you up to this machine and monitor baby movements and their heartbeat after.
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
Avatar n tn What reason would a doctor have to request a stress test on a pregnant woman on her due date, when she has no other pregnancy related (or any other) problems? She was just in for a scheduled appointment, and the doctor requested a stress test.
Avatar n tn If I could suggest one thing, if you are going in for a stress test, perhaps you should ask for a nuclear stress test. You will get all the advantages of a normal stress test but also get a look at the blood flow in your heart. My Doctor let me go straight to a nuclear stress test, and it's a piece of cake as well. In addition, it has a much higher accuracy rate than a normal exercise stress test. Just a thought, good luck!
9842459 tn?1411688168 They haven't done a stress test on me at all. Are your sugars always high with diet and walking? I know stress will shoot your sugars up.
Avatar f tn During pregnancy they give you a non stress test and they only do so if they have probably cause that something is wrong with your health our the baby's. Do you have any medical issues like diabetes or something?
Avatar f tn Im only 22 weeks but they have told me all the tests i will be having along the course of my pregnancy and a stress test was one of them.
757019 tn?1237164467 Is this a period, is it implantation bleeding, midcycle bleeding, breakthrough bleeding, or is this just stress? I did test for pregnancy, but the test was negative. Was it too soon to test. Should I try another this week? I am 25, I am married. I do work full time. But I don't think things are so stressful that they would alter my periods. I have noticed some slight cramping that comes and goes. It's stopped now though. It was a light cramping.
Avatar f tn For me, I only did one my first pregnancy. I'm in baby #6 and a different dr and haven't done any since my first. I'm not sure why not.
Avatar f tn m wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar f tn I have read some articles and they all said that the prenatals does not cause your periods to be late. I took a home pregnancy test on 2nd of Oct and it came up negative (I used first response). I have also taken a blood test, and that came up negative. I have been feeling pain here and there in my lower abdomin (not like period cramps). Even if this is an ectopic pregnancy, would it not still show up positive?
Avatar f tn Everything you've said points towards a pregnancy. Food/smell aversion is a strong indicator, at least in my case and many people around me have been the same in early pregnancy. However, the blood test being negative is puzzling. So here are some facts: Home pregnancy tests are around 97% accurate when they are performed correctly. False positives can happen if you have blood or protein present in urine.
Avatar n tn its a test on your heart where they inject a chemical through an iv in order to take pictures
Avatar f tn It is possible that you are not far enough along in the pregnancy for the test to register it. When were you last sexually active? What are your diet and stress level like? I have seen a number of cases where an eating disorder and stress can cause more severe cramping, missed periods, moodiness and severe breast tenderness. Both insufficient nutrient intake and stress causes a lot of abnormal hormone fluctuations.
1016145 tn?1253498064 What is the difference between a Thallium Stress Test and a Nuclear Stress Test and which one is better ?
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks and have mild cramps every so often but it's normal in early pregnant
Avatar f tn Have your boyfriend buy you a First Response test, if money is an issue. Or you can go to a pregnancy center (look in phonebook under Abortion-Alternatives) for a free test. Be mindful that their tests are not as sensitive as First Response so you may still get a negative. I'd wait at least 3-7 days to retest unless you start bleeding again.
Avatar f tn I got a call from the specialist ive been seeing for my high risk pregnancy saying that my other doctor scheduled a none stress test for me for tomorrow Im a little scared what might happen cause you usually get those atleast 3-4 weeks before your due date I still have 7 weeks. Since the beginning of this pregnancy I had a feeling that this baby was going to come early but not this early I will see what happens I might end up having a may or early june baby.
Avatar f tn My tubes were tied three years ago. I am now 8 days late with a negative pregnancy test. Im going to retest today. Ill make an appt for my ob in the morning. Could I be pregnant in my tubes or just stressed.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know what an adenosine stress test is like? I have to have one in the morning.
Avatar f tn My second pregnancy was very difficult. Emotionally and Physically. I feel like I was depressed for most of the 9 months! But my son is almost 3 yrs old now and he is just fine. He was a happy baby too. So I don't think my stress or pregnancy related depression affected him at all. I hope this helps.
385161 tn?1270081218 Does anyone know what non stress testing is and when it should start in a twin pregnancy? I'm going on 28 weeks and my doctor mentioned it way back at 22 weeks but I have not had any yet....hmm..
519281 tn?1212479788 THe no period for 2 months could also be pregnancy, though less likely if you had negative urine pregnancy tests. The blood pregnancy test is more sensitive, and you might consider getting a blood test. Other things that could cause skipped periods include obesity, which can cause hormone imbalances that can affect your periods (sometimes called polkycystic ovary disease), thyroid problems, sometimes also severe stress.
2193601 tn?1392460637 The non stress test is where they hook u up to the fetal monitors that go on ur belly to keep track of the bbys heartbeat movement n contractions if ur having any just to make sure bbys good n they usually do the strep b test around 36 37wks when they check to see if ur dilating n stuff (depends on when ur dr starts doin that)
933846 tn?1353452448 Um well usually people who have a Chemical Preg get their Period a few days late, but it is not really a Period it is the MC. If you are past Implantation they i don't think it is considered a CP. But not 100% sure. If u are able to see the baby on the Sono, then if you loss the baby it is a reg MC. CP is just a really early MC.
