Avatar m tn I've had this strange lump behind my left ear ( and a much smaller one behind my right ear ) since as long as I can remember - someone first pointed it out to me when I was about 11 It feels rubbery and can be moved around slightly It's never hurt or anything, but I really don't know what it is Whenever I search "lump behind ear" I never receive ANY cases that are like mine ! Does anyone have an idea of what it is and if anything should be done about it ? Thank you !

I was at the doctors and they said none of my lymph nodes were swollen but arent those lumps behind ears lymph nodes? And if one were to be infected would they stay that way for like 4 months (thats when I noticed them)? thank you in advance.

Avatar m tn Well about 5 years ago maybe more at the age of 9 I found a lump behind my right ear it was movable and was absolutely painless I forgot about it and didn't tell anybody because I was so young.
Avatar m tn I have a semi-hard lump directly behind my ear resting on the bone right behind my ear. It feels almost like cartilage. It used to be about the size of a pimple, but it just keeps getting larger. I recently checked it and it is about an inch in length now. The lump occasionally itches and seems to just keep growing. It doesn't hurt at all and is slightly movable. Any thoughts on what this might be??? Anyone worried??
1288586 tn?1271904161 but now it has swollen up and hurts a lot on and around the lump and i am having pain in my ear canal also. the lump is a little bigger then a pea. i can't see it, since it's along the bone behind my ear, so my fiance had a look at it and says it's red and looks infected. i also have a lump on the left side of my pelvis, which is also red and sore and my fiance says its starting to go purple.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I am hoping you can help me figure out what this lump is behind my ear is. Not literally on my ear, but when you feel behind your ear, the bony part. about an inch or 1.5 inches away from my ear there is a painless lump (circular) about the size of a blueberry. It is difficult to tell if it is hard or squishy so I can't really say. All I can say is that it has been there for about a month maybe more. Has not grown is size that ive noticed.
Avatar f tn About 8 days ago she went to the doctor with strep-throat. Now today I noticed she has a lump behind her right ear, should I be concerned? I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.
Avatar f tn You have made the first critical steps in that you noticed the lump and have seen the doctor. I assume when you say you have an appointment next week that you are seeing some sort of specialist? You are making all the right decisions at this point since you do have a history of cancer in your family. However, while I know it is hard not to freak out at this point, you don't have a diagnosis of cancer. There are many types of growths that are not cancerous.
Avatar n tn I suddenly have a lump that showed up on the my right ear just below the ear lobe, its small but very painful to touch and is very hard. It moves when you touch it and it has caused my ear a slight swelling. It's not red or anything and the ear lobe doesn't hurt when it's touch, if anyone has some kinda of info on what it could be please email me at ***@****.
Avatar f tn hiyaa, i have lump behind my ear too, depending on how your doctor looked at it or if its even the same thing it may be a cyst.. i take medication but it take 3-4 months for it to eventually go away. i got even more thirsty aswell and would get major head rushes. if this helps at all? the medication i take are antibiotics and are tablets.

Avatar n tn How long have they been there? If they have been there for years, they could also be what is called fat deposits. My son has a few of these - and one is below his ear (near the sideburn). The doctor told us they could be removed if they were located in a spot that could cause discomfort or may interfere with daily life (like shaving...) Even though the have the name 'fast deposit' they are on the firm side and not squishy. Just another possibility.
Avatar n tn I found a lump behind my ear. It is hard and doesnt hurt at all. Its strange in shape and not irratated at all. its been almost a month. I am concerned especially because I am a smoker and its close to my neck.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your help! The lump is acutally on the front of my ear-It's parallel to my earing, it feels as if is's attached to the inside of my earlobe and the side of my face. It is NOT behind my ear. I have looked at a few "maps" of the body's lymphatic system, and the lump does not appear to be located where a node would be present. It is rock hard and doesn't move. Also the pain is minimal, and it only hurts once in a while.
Avatar f tn I'm 16 years old and I have a lump right behind my ear on the bone i think I've had it for a while maybe a year or more I barely noticed it the other day when I was rubbing behind my ear it's hard maybe a little bit squishy I don't know what it is and it causes me extreme anxiety not knowing what it is could it be something very bad or something harmless I don't feel sick I don't have headaches I don't feel tired I feel fine it doesn't hurt when I touch it and it
Avatar m tn I have a lump like that aswell, i dont know what to do though as i cant get an appointment at the doctors until late next week. I, doing my third year of beauty therapy at college and alot of my treatments are to do with draining the lymph fluid around the body, i have only just recently started this couse and i think its to do with the treatments ive been having, is it wise to have them at the moment. I dont want to take any time off from college, but it is painful.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 20 year old male. I have had a hard lump behind my right ear for years now...at least 4 or 5. It feels like part of my skull but it is not on the left side of my head so i know that it's not. I asked my doctor about it when i was younger and he said it was a swollen lymph node and should go away at some point. It never did, however, it also never caused me any discomfort so i never got it looked at again.
Avatar f tn My son recently noticed a hard lump behind his left ear. He has also complained of back pain. Any possible suggestions?
