Avatar_n_tn I am starting to feel depressed a lot more than before when not high and have bad mood swings which is starting to affect my relasionship with my boyfriend and I have everything in my life to look forward to but am at a brick wall. I have been looking up the effects of natural anti depressants also the benefits of 5 Htp and L Tyrosine to help me feel normal again or at least be able to function, get out of bed and go to work.
Avatar_n_tn But you know, I spent several days in the VA hospital last summer and was in grief over the many Vets who have no one. Just waiting to die! I really do feel grateful that I have what I have. But for the grace of God, there go I! It's hard to picture and even care about unless you've seen it firsthand....just like our lives and dealing with addiction. J.B.

Avatar_f_tn She is my reason for living, my world is my daughter and I ensure she gets everything she needs before I spend on drugs. in some ways the amphetamine helps me b more interactive with her and her friends. I'll play out on skateboards n play games n mess on making them laugh but wen it's nite time the low hits me hard. I sit thinking of millions of things at once but cudnt tell sumone wot thort cos unable to remember.
Avatar_n_tn I live in New York City and my brother lives in Australia. He is an amphetamine addict. I knew he used to be, but just recently found out he has been back on them for a few years. I have not actually seen him for four years. We only speak on the phone. He is 35. With the distance between us I feel really messed up and helpless. I'm crying a lot and I know that for him to admit this to me he is in a bad place.
Avatar_f_tn As you know, it is very hard to stop, but that's what you have to do. I too was shocked at the lack of understanding by professionals. what you are going through is brutal, but listen to me: it can be done. You are absolutely right about your heart and kidneys too. You need to find your own way of breaking free, either by tapering or by simply stopping. If you just stop, I know from experience that the depression can be sincerely profound. You may sleep 18 hours, you may cry or feel suicidal.
Avatar_m_tn It's always a sad thing to see a loved one destroy himself with drugs. For now, I think your decision to detach is a good one. People going through amphetamine psychosis are dangerous and their actions can be life threatening. Don't feel guilty for protecting yourself. As much as you want to help, you know from your own addiction that he is the only person who can reach out for help from people who really know what they're dealing with.
Avatar_n_tn its not a hard decision. I take ephedrine all the time, i'm in the gym 6 days a week and i have used them just as much as you have, but i have had no problems, but its obviously not working well with your body, so yes, stop taking them! Non of us ever pay attention to what the "warning" on the bottle says, and that the drug is not FDA approved, but when your having issues like you are, then stop immediately.
Avatar_n_tn We all have a taste of this in things we have seen but are few and far inbetween. I have one while working in Guatemala just to give an example that i repress. in the downtown city i saw a poor skinny dog with a rope tied tight and dragging from his neck. He had malnutrion and was a walking skelton smelling the sidewalk for scraps of food.
731081_tn?1256286766 I was literally ruining my relationship whith my family and gf....I got off them and i knew what i was in store for but i was willing to be strong this time....Well during the time i was off my pills, i started to have other problems in my life...I started to see this other girl and i told my gf and things just took a SH*T...Things were soooo stressful and all i could think of was that i could handle this stress way better if i got back on my pills....
Avatar_f_tn Methamphetamine is particularly demonized, amphetamine somewhat less so, even though amphetamine-related stimulant drugs -- including methylphenidate (Ritalin), amphetamine (Adderall, Dexedrine), & methamphetamine (Desoxyn) -- are commonly prescribed for children from as young as age 3. All three of these can lead to difficult-to-break habits and can become a problem for some people who try them.
1563685_tn?1310405954 So we all here agree that a conclusive test result is reached only at 3 months post-exposure, but extended to 6 months for those on chemotherapy, on meds after organ transplant, and, at least according to me until some time ago, recreational drugs. But in the post, some of you disputed about marijuana/pot and use the term IV drug instead.
Avatar_f_tn I have been taking them regularly for five years. My addiction began as an exploration of drugs and soon became an assistant for weight-loss (i have also suffered with eating disorders). I began very heavy and daily use of amphetamines about 7 or 8 months ago. when use, i will crush up the amphetamine salts, as well as Adderall XR (which is a much more powerful pharmaseutical). Recently I have been diagnosed with a serious kidney infection.
Avatar_f_tn These statements I have made are my thoughts only and I look forward to hearing what other have to say strictly about medications they have taken or are taking that they feel have helped them with their panic and agoraphobia. It is important that we become educated in what is out there that can help us with our progress and any information or discussion about this topic helps us all make good decisions with our on going mental health.
199177_tn?1332183097 I hit 23 months yesterday and I still have them. interestingly, I seem to be dreaming in reverse chronological order with respect to my drug of choice. From age 18 to 29 I drank alcohol like a pig; 30 to 39 I was completely abstinent; 40 to 44 I went from occassional, low doses of opiate pain killers to constant, high doses; at 45 I started mixing meth (amphetamine) with pills; and at age 46 I gave up everything else in favor of a crack stem (that quickly stayed in use all day, every day).
Avatar_f_tn best because it made me realize what i have...and what I do not want to loose! If you need help, look up local NA meetings in your area,it has helped me so much! I wish you the very best of luck and please let me know if you need help at all! God bless!
Avatar_n_tn I have been told that to adequately control the pain one must make use of these highly addictive drugs in the short-term. And that's the key, the drugs are used short-term and carefully monitored and managed. Vigilant medical oversight is essential! As soon as the addict patient is able, they should be transitioned off the Narcotic pain-killers to non-narcotic medications.
Avatar_n_tn From what I understand from the literature I have been reading, there is a note about the product containing ephedrine alkaloids, and I would assume other ingredients as well. Might I suggest you try to link with the website at www.starlightonline.com. Perhaps you can get information from someone higher up with more detailed information. Good luck.
Avatar_f_tn Your an addict you can get clean but as in better so I can use drugs again that would be never. what pain meds are you on and what are you taking adhd meds are you on do you abuse them ?
Avatar_f_tn I have no idea what started you on drugs, but i do know that you had better hurry and get off of them, before it is to late, i have seen many people in the line of my work go their graves, because of being an addict, i know it will not be easy as i have seen people try and try, and a lot have made it.
Avatar_n_tn The entire treatment course will be conducted in 12 weeks or less, in accordance with the recommendations made in the FDA Pharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee meeting that reviewed the data from the trials of Zoloft in the treatment of PTSD, If the study does begin in Summer 2002, the research team should be able to complete both sessions in all 20 patients by Summer 2003.
Avatar_n_tn Someone said something about mental stress, which I agree is huge, but I can sit in front of my computer and zone if I have too, when your knocking a wall down and carting it off, someone notices when you sit down and zone for an hour. Again, my hat is off to those that have to do physical labor on treatment. So, I guess the answer to your question, is not much!
535089_tn?1400677119 Substances Causing False Positives According to a report by the Los Angeles Times New Service, a study of 161 prescription and over the counter medications showed that 65 of them produced false positive results in the most widely administered urine test.

I have read that my body may have built up a tolerance. what can I do? If I buy something to flush out my system (any good products??) would that work? going off the pills for a few weeks? I am at my wits end!!! Has anyone else had this problem? I've heard mention of the phen-pro cocktail (prozac and phentermine). Does any one know any details on that? I really need guidance.
322138_tn?1306246734 It's just because the word on ADDHD has spread a lot more in the last few years and a lot more people know about it, I read about it's symptoms in Wikipedia and I knew I have this issue, then I read about Ritalin and other drugs to help with condition and it's really given me hope. The way it get's u in the loop of substance abuse and keeps you there is monstrous indeed. As I said I had trouble with smoking marijuana and heroin way back and then I quit that with GOD's help.
