Now the tumor has recurred a third time and they are trying Temodar again. What other treatment options would you consider at this point?

She had a surgical resection near the end of November and is currently in her third week of Proton Therapy and chemo with Temodar. Her tumor was in the right temporal lobe and the remaining tumor they couldn't remove (about 10 percent they said) is on her right insula. Hoping to chat with other people in the same boat as her. What if any side effects did you incur on Proton therapy? Did everyone who had proton therapy to their brain have to be on a steroid? Did anyone NOT lose hair.

A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. i'm so very sorry you and your husband are going thru this! unfortunately, there is very little you can do, thanks to all the hippa laws. but there is nothing to stop you from making your own appt. with his dr and expressing your concerns. while he will not be able to talk to you directly about your husband, he CAN listen to what's going on. it will most likely cause problems for you if your husband finds out you went behind his back, but his dr.

If, after consideration, your husband opts for radiotherapy, ask your doctors about doing it concurrent with Temodar (temolozimide). I took that with my last radiotherapy. Supposedly it is a radiosensitizer (meaning it makes the tumor cells more suceptible to radiation. Good luck to you!

They did a scan and found a tumor, and that night I had brain surgery to remove what turned out to be a stage 4 Glioblstoms zzzzzzzzzzmultforme tumor. Told I had 2 to 5 years to live. I keep wondering why they let me go that long with such severe pain without an MRI. Would it have made a difference if we found it when it was smaller? I've now been through radiation and temodar, consults with Dr. Prados at UCSF. The tumor was still growing at last month's MRI.

Check out if he is upset by anything in his life has anything new happened , a move a new Baby ,a loss of any Family member,very often there have been happenings that have triggered the behavior, what do his Teachers say, does he get on with them , does he like school.No point in punishing him unless you know what has caused it .

You, by yourself can not do anything without him wanting to do it. You can haul his behind to an NA meeting, you can get him into rehab, you can even get him to my clinic and I will get him physically clean, but without his commitment and his desire to stay clean, all of it is useless. Suboxone is just another opiate, it does work for some, but again, a person needs to want to quit. Your brother does not.
