Common Questions and Answers about What does skelaxin treat

skelaxin

Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn I am doing this therapy and I hope I can get myself back in shape and maybe that will help too. Thanks for your reply and I agree the Skelaxin does make me feel kind of heavy. I have only taken it at night. I wonder if it would help to wd from the hydro since I don't have any valiume (sp)?
Avatar m tn I was also given Skelaxin, but the problem with that is I take it for pain today, then what about tomorow, then next day? when does it stop? So I have not been using it even though I think once in a while I will to get a break. This is risky. I do have moments when I almost loose control because the pain and lack of sleep really wears me down, but all in all I seem to be moving forward, though slowly. I think my biggest battle is to control the pain and get out of my head about it.
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
493368 tn?1209757681 what kind of pain pills will really help Rheumitioid Arthritis, it feels like that computer game called "Pac Man" is eating my joints and small bones in wrists and feets. PLEASE GOD MAKE IT GO AWAY !!!!
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn There are several muscle relaxers that are not habit forming and work for that issue. Let us know how you are doing and what you decided.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Avatar m tn I am a 29 year old female in good shape. 5'8 and weigh 130. Does anyone know where I would take this next? SYMPTOMS (not constant but for majority of the day) Aching legs, shoulders, and left arm. Tingling sensation in left arm and face Warm sensation in legs…almost feels “numb” sometimes Left side of neck hurts…feels kinked. Ears sometimes ache. Left chest, and back ache sometimes. Body in general aches (unless moving) Fatigued Nauseous I feel very “off” and not normal.
Avatar m tn I find that it works pretty well for me and for me, it does not make me as sleepy as flexeril does (another muscle relaxer), but of course, everyone is different, so it may very well affect you differently. I've also tried Skelaxin, but for me, it did absolutely nothing.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
676302 tn?1237863491 I am wondering what is the name of the muscke relaxer that helps everyone. I have been taking cyclobenzaprine an all it does is makes me sleepy. It doesn't relax my muscles and right now I am really having a problem with the spams. Any help you can give please.
Avatar n tn My husband had a bike accident on Sunday landing on his head (helmet) & shoulder. No Insurance. Went to ER. After several xrays, yes he's got a broken collar bone on right side but excrutiating pain in left shoulder. Finally got a CT and confirmed small linear defect present at C7 involving C6 & C7 joint with a small non-displaced fracture. Disk space narrowing at C5-6, C6-7 with marginal posterior spurring. Moderate post bulging at C5-6, and minimal post bulging at C3-4.
Avatar n tn I think that if you doctor didn't check out your shoulder in spite of your complaint about it. If after having done surgery, within that short time you have swelling an dpain, and your doctor doesn't check it out, that isn't good. whenever I have a doctor that does that, I get a different doctor. I don't go to a doctor so that he can be paid to listen to himself talk. :) I've had been doctor experiences and am suffering from lingering bitterness.
Avatar m tn It is an expensive drug, but so was our habit. I understand that it does not work for everybody, but I certainly think it is worth a shot for some of you. Let me know what you think. Do you think taking Lyrica is cheating? I do feel a little guilty, because when I took it my body went ahhhh. I thought it would work like a stronger aspirin, but it works much better.
988694 tn?1332359479 If my problem (sex hormonal imbalance) does not resolve after been in my new dose for at least 5 or 6 months, does it mean that I am not in the right dose?

Avatar f tn Fiorecet, Imitrex, topomax, effexor, lortab, skelaxin, and others. We have been the migrane route, the cluster route, and the tension route. I have had a CT that came back normal, Blood work to rule out infection, hormonal causes, pregnancy, thiroid issues, and other general causes. I am having issues functioning at my job and in my life. These headaches are terrible and very frustrating. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I have had chronic, daily pain in my left scapula for years, it has increased significantly in the past couple of months to the point that it is unbearable at times. I've been taking ultram, neurontin, motrin, and skelaxin for it which has helped a little. I've been using ice & heat, and have been trying to do stretching and strengthening exercises to help. None of these conservitive measures are helping my pain, and I feel that I need to see a specialist.
