In the beginning all I took was one tablet of Metformin per day. 10 years later,I am now taking 6 medicines. Metformin, Telmisartan, Meloxicam, Levothyroxine, Hydrochlorothiazine and Atorvastatin.
I have recently been looking online at some of the drug interaction checkers, and what i find is alarming. So many of these drugs, seem to not be so compatible with one another, and most lead to kidney trouble. I have not want to be on dialysis.

Since lupus can affect the internal organs, I would take her to see another rheumie until you find one that will try something other than or in addition to an NSAID like meloxicam. (I also take meloxicam, but in conjunction with three other meds for RA that go after the disease process itself, not just treating the symptoms like meloxicam alone).
Blood work is only one of many diagnostic tools, not the yes-or-no definitive answer.
Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.

Are the only 2 prescription drugs you are on klonopin and meloxicam?

I have recently done quite a bit of research on meloxicam for myself. Because it takes up to 2 weeks for your blood plasma levels to even reach a beneficial amount of meloxicam, I'm gonna "guess" that it's the reduction in klonopin (or some other med you may be reacting to.
Now after reading about Meloxicam side effects today, I am suspecting that perhaps the issue is the Meloxicam.
My symptoms seem slightly different each day. Initially it was a few days of mostly lower leg weakness and overall lack of energy. That changed to a few days of lower leg tingling and numbness, and then the numbness and tingling moved to mostly my right side leg and arm and slightly in my left leg.
There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications.
My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!

I have questions: Is "Medcam" the actual name on her medicine? In what form is this med? Why did you stop giving it to her? - not criticizing I just need to know.

Offhand I'd say your furry friend is miserable, poor thing, and you should call your vet asap.

My 7 year old has been diagnosed with Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis since she was age 4. She has been on several medications to treat the symptoms. Currently she is taking 12.5 mg Methotrexate, 12.5 mg injections of Enbrel twice weekly and 7.5 mg of Meloxicam. She has been having temps of 99-101 for the last year and a half and thigh pain for 3 years. All the doctors conclude that this all may be her arthritis. I don't believe that.

I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen.
Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.
ve fallen off the wagon a few times in the last 2 months. I have a screwed up back which lead me down this road,and sub does nothing for that so my doc put me on meloxicam. Which has clearly been eating a whole in my insides, classic symptoms of an upper gi bleed. So is all of this even worth it? Am i killing myself faster by taking meloxicam?
